The outlook and landscaping of this hotel is especially breathtakingly beautiful; it lends to the beauty of St Lucia. This hotel is really excellent on entertainment , could not fault it, the reason a 4 score was given the noise levels which we thought could be reduced from a reasonable time. Especially karaoke...
Not everyone wants to party till 1am -2ock in the morning. The staff are amazing and a pleasure to talk to each day. The room bar response was very poor for replenishing we had to complain several times for a response.
We went here for our honeymoon and stayed in the sunset bluff suites - which was amazing! We enjoyed watching the sunset from our balcony every night. We also enjoyed the surf and turf our last night at the Piton restaurant - delicious!! Our butlers - Leban, Gilbert, and Barkus did an amazing job & made our stay that much more enjoyable!!
Overall our experience was very great! The only complaint we have is that a couple of waitresses acted like they didn’t want to wait on us. Everyone else was pretty nice to us. The private pool could have been warmer too...
It was freezing cold the entire time.
I’m finally getting around to making a post about our long awaited, rescheduled honeymoon. I loved reading about everyone’s insider info and itineraries so here is our subjective experience 11/4/21-11/13/21 warning .. it’s long:
Day one 11/4 we arrived in the late afternoon and used fastpass or fast track with private transfer...
They had our name on a whiteboard and helped us bypass what looked like a 2-3 hr line… totally worth it and would 1000% do it again. Our driver Gerian (spelling might be off) was awesome. He had piton beer for the ride and facts about the island. He also offered to stop to allow us to purchase traditional Creole bread, which we took him up on. It was delicious. It took about 1.75 hrs to get to La Toc with the short stop. We were received warmly by staff at the regency with a cool towel and glass of champagne then escorted to our honeymoon luxury room in the Esperance building by our favorite staff member Justina, who urged us to go eat something at the pub after our long trip. We spent the rest of the evening exploring the lower resort and had fish n chips at the Pub.
Day two complete relaxation! I woke up early to reserve chairs with room towels and clips by the main pool because I had heard loungers go fast. Honestly it was not bad at all because people come and go all day and there were a couple sets still open around 10am. ALSO we quickly discovered in our exploring that the center pool by the Pitons Restaurant was our favorite because there are available loungers all day, it’s quiet, the water is warmest of the three pools, and the view from the pool itself is 👌 This day we ate at the Pavilion and loved breakfast -great and friendly service from Priscilla, made friends with the cats, then made our dinner reservations for the week and scheduled both our Covid tests for return and our excursions/experiences. All the booking and scheduling took about an hour and we were glad to have it all done out of the way. La Toc for dinner- the lamb was our favorite.
Day 3 was originally supposed to be Joe Knows Tour however they had to cancel because they didn’t meet the minimum participants. This was no problem as the tours desk was so helpful in calling around to switch up our experiences and dinner reservations. We ended up making this the private cabana day and it turned out to be one of our best days. Great thanks to Cierra our "Butler for the day" who brought lunch, drinks, and snacks throughout the cabana experience. Soy for dinner then joined the crowd for country night in the Pavilion 10/10 for sushi and entertainment! 🙌
Day 4 Joe Knows: We had a great day on the speedboat with Cocoa Stick, Captain Andy, and Jr. The mud baths and their particular rum punch is not to be missed. 😉 I’m not sure how we made it there but we went to Pitons Restaurant for dinner and it was our favorite overall. I’d recommend making a couple reservations for this one. When in season you can order a lobster tail with any dish 👌👌👌 and of course the chocolate cake was phenomenal.
Day 5 This is when we started eating at Armando’s for breakfast and didn’t stop. Amazing banana French toast AND I asked for a side of Nutella. Later we had open air couple massages with Justina and Susie. It was great- I like pressure so I was in heaven.
Day 6 we asked the front desk to call a taxi rather than wait for the later shuttle to the Grande. So glad we visited the other resort for a change of scenery. We were dazzled by the newness and the beach and had a great day in the calm waters and hanging out in their very lively pool atmosphere drinking “Peter’s Special” but we agreed ultimately, as honeymooners, La Toc was the right resort for us. Kimono’s for dinner and another great dining experience. Overall kimonos/soy was our favorite dining atmosphere.
Day 7 sunset “booze” cruise! Everyone was having a good time even with a little liquid sunshine.
Day 8 we enjoyed a romantic and tasty candlelight dinner on the beach. ❤️
Day 9 Because we brought our own snorkel gear we were able to check out the super cool marine life by the bluff. Even better than on tour and literally right off our beach.
Day 10 check out day 🥺 we canceled our private transfer back to the airport and scheduled helicopter through tours desk instead. It was amazing, terrifying, but amazing! So worth it just for the once-in-a-lifetime view of the pitons. It took 15-20 min to get to the airport by helicopter. Fastpass would have been helpful for the departure process but no one arrived for us until we’d already been in line 1.5 hrs- they would have taken us through to the front of priority boarding and security had they been there, but oh well. Thank goodness we opted for helicopter. 🤷♀️
We headed to the sunset pool to watch the sunset often- glorious.
Our drinks of choice: Mango Tango, Iceberg, Poinsettia, Mango and Pina Coladas
We really enjoyed walking the hill up and down the bluff for some exercise and because is was like Disney’s Pirates at night, but there’s a shuttle in the lobby if that not someone’s jam.
They set up a fruit stand every day at the gazebo between the main pool and Neptune’s, try soursop!
You’ll need cash and I’d bring more than you think you’ll need in various bills for tips and purchases off resort. Who we tipped: airport bag handlers, taxi drivers and airport transfers (including helicopter), spa staff, excursion personnel, might be missing a category. There are opportunities to purchase items on excursions in between stops and on boat docks and even on resort there were artisan tables set up a couple days.
Yes the bars and kitchens get backed up but we were in paradise with nothing but time and good company. 🌴
We were told that the excursion would be a speed boat yet we were tethered to another boat because the boat broke down the entire time. We tried to get a refund but they will not allow it. Not very happy with the customer service at the end.
