My partner and I stayed for one week at the hotel and we cannot fault the staff, or the accommodation. The staff were so attentive and friendly, the rooms were immaculate and cleaned daily, and the food was authentic and delicious. The option of the three pools was a lovely surprise as it meant a ‘pool day’ was always different...
Another surprise perk was the use of their sister hotel which is located on the beach, there is a free shuttle bus which departs once an hour between the two hotels (walking is only 15 mins). Unfortunately for us we were staying during lockdown, however this did not affect us at all as we were able to travel between the hotels using the various pools, restaurants and we were able to use the beach as this is classed as part of their resort. I would highly recommend Bay Gardens to anyone looking to visit St Lucia. Bay Gardens is owned and run by St Lucians, and they really were the highlight of our week in Rodney Bay. We will be back!!!
For what you pay, this hotel represents good value- but anyone considering it should set their expectations at the right level. It’s not the ritz, but it’s also not the pits- it’s a good solid option. The staff were all so incredibly nice- I can not stress that enough...
Especially Helena at spices restaurant, she was a total joy to speak to every day and her attitude towards life was absolutely infectious. Likewise the reception team who greeted us so warmly and genuinely every day. The food was really good, much better than some of the more expensive hotels we stayed in on the island. I could see it might be a bit samey if you’re there for more than a week. The location is good- you’re a couple of blocks back from the beach- an easy 15 minute walk or there’s an hourly shuttle that takes 3 minutes max. We were on an all inclusive rate and used the restaurants and facilities of the Bay Gardens Beach Resort and we were not that impressed with it, other than the location, everything else was much better at the Bay Gardens Hotel. Oddly you have to sign for every drink or meal you have at BGBR, it’s so annoying and people really hassle you for it, but luckily not the case at BGH. In terms of facilities at the BGH, the pools were nice and clean and absolutely dead during the day so we had them to ourselves. The bar was equally nice and atmospheric at night.
My partner and I stayed here for a week and a half and we had a great time! We didn’t choose all inclusive but we did eat lunch / dinner at the restaurant a few times and it was lovely.
Our room was cleaned thoroughly every day and clean towels provided. They also provide towels for the beach which is really handy! Our room was a very good size with air conditioning and a balcony...
We booked the hotel via British Airways so had a discount which made the hotel excellent value for money!
The hotel is large but not too huge. There were hardly any other people in the pools (of which there are 4!!) so we had them to ourselves most of the time. We especially enjoyed the happy hour from 5-7pm each day where they had 2-for-1 cocktails. An added bonus is the free shuttle bus between Bay Gardens Hotel and the more expensive Bay Gardens Beach Resort which is right on the beach front. However the hotel is also a good location if you want to walk to the beach (approx 15 mins walk) or the town of Rodney Bay with many lovely restaurants just a 5 min walk or less!
Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone. Also very strict on COVID rules - everyone wore a mask around the hotel and it was all very clean! We would absolutely stay here again!
I visited Bay Gardens with a friend in mid July. It’s a fairly small yet cozy hotel centrally located in Gross Islet. If you’re a walker there are several stores, restaurants, and a mall within the vicinity...
There is also a health center directly across the street in case of emergency and for Covid testing upon departure. The hotel does provide a shuttle though if you want to use the beach at the resort. The shuttle was always clean and the driver efficient. The staff are phenomenal and we felt safe during our entire stay. As far as dining, we decided to upgrade to the all inclusive plan which was well worth it. Breakfast and dinner were good at both the resort and hotel and although options can be somewhat repetitive, it was not a big deal for us. Side note, we had to sign for all drinks and meals, which is new to me, but for verification and accountability purposes could appreciate. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend staying here in the future!
This hotel does not follow COVID 19 protocols. During my stay, I along with several other guests was allowed to leave the hotel grounds and mingle with the public only two days after arrival. I wore my mask the entire time and did leave the island with a negative PCR test and never contracted COVID but a lot of the other people did not wear their masks...
I can definitely see why the numbers are spiking on that island. It's because of places like this.
