Sandals Grande was an incredible experience! Beachfront Rondoval was incredible, providing picturesque views, painterly sunsets and stunning blue skies/waters at the tip of your feet from the time you wake up - until you retire for the evening! Panoramic view of the bay - cropped by views of Pigeon Island and the Point - WOW! Would highly recommend splurging if it is any consideration. You are ON the beach and steps from the sea! It's a view/experience you won't forget!!
The staff was so kind, personable, attentive and beyond thoughtful - shout out to Clynns(Butler), Shervan(Butler), Jackie(Butler), Donna(The One and Only), Sharma(Soy), Nykardia(Soy), Lisa(Beach/Pool), Stanley(Beach/Pool), Tamara(Beach/Pool), Peter(Beach/Pool), Carol(Beach/Pool), and Kelly(Photo)!!! Each one left their own special touch on our trip - thank you!! Special thanks to Elizabeth, Nez, and Slim on the beach for the handmade memories! We hope anyone traveling to the Grande will get to meet all of these incredible people!! So much fun, memories, laughs and good vibes from them all! I only hope we can cross paths again! Make sure to stop at the pool bar for the Peter Special - delicious blended rum daiquiris!!
Highly recommend taking out a Hobie (sail boat) from the beach - or any other activities that looks interesting! There was no cost to do the waterfront activities and the sailboat got you out in the bay with spectacular views - your own private cruise :)
Please consider staying at the Grande (yes, it is a little further of a drive from the airport - but it was totally worth it! Again, we can't thank the wonderful people of the Grande enough for all they did during our stay! Until next time!
Canadian Cluuub! ;) <3 C&C
We had a blast. The food was amazing, the service was even better! 10/10 we will be back. The staff was extremely friendly and we met many other couples we will stay in touch with...
The views and the cleanliness were perfect.

We traveled to the Sandals Grande in St. Lucia, on 9/12, for our annual seven day wedding anniversary trip. This was our 13th Sandals vacation...
We’ve stayed at 6 different Sandals, our 7th trip to the Sandals Grande (it was our first Sandals), and our 5th stay there in a row. We’ve booked a week there in April for Reunion Week & again in September for our annual anniversary trip. As you can tell, we are hooked and “locked in” to this resort. The resort itself is beautiful with lush manicured grounds, the beach is clean, and the water is clear and warm. The Grande’s beach is our happy place. There are plenty of places to eat and it’s not hard to get a reservation. With all of that being said, the reason that we are locked in is not because of the resort itself (even though it’s beautiful), it’s because of the wonderful people. We used to say that we’re going back to see our “friends” but now we say that we are going to visit our “FAMILY!” We are on first name basis with many and there are plenty that recognize us that we haven’t had a chance to say more than “hi” to. I’m usually up & out on the beach before 8:00, and there are plenty of “staffers” moving around and it’s usually a race to see who I pass will say “good morning” first. My greeting is ALWAYS cheerfully returned. After meeting the Managing Director Winston Anderson, during our first stay (in 2009), we have found him not only approachable but engaging as well. His warmth and kindness has spread to his staff (who speak of him with respect, love and reverence). I’ve heard this from the landscapers all the way to his managers. Winston strikes me as having high standards and it has definitely rubbed off to everyone that works at the resort. There is a genuine warmth. On our arrival, we were warmly greeted by our friend Lanse (from the front desk) and our new friend Yancia (who is the concierge manager that works in Club Sandals). We always try to book at Club Level when it’s available. They were very welcoming! Andy was our representative in the Loyalty & Travel office and was very friendly & accommodating. Our first dinner was at the Bombay so that we could see our friend Lusida (the manager of the Bombay). We have been friends with her for a few years and we always look forward to seeing her. We have young friends that work on the beach that we look forward to seeing, my friend Termesha, Mr. Michael, Kareem and my friend Percyl. These people went out of their way to come see us. I met Percyl two years ago and had a few short conversations with him. Last year on my morning walk, I saw a young man working with his back to me and when I said “good morning,” he turned around and said, with such warmth, “Wow! Hey how are you? You just made my day!” I’d never been greeted like that before (it was unexpected and actually made MY day!). We were blessed to have breakfast with Rohan (the operations manager) and were joined by her at the Diamond Luncheon. She always made sure to greet us when she saw us (and she is a very busy young lady!). We got to see our bartender friends, world famous Peter (creator of the “Peter Special”) and Remy who is equally famous (I always ask him for something sour & frozen and he never disappoints). These guys always know when it’s “rum o’clock.” Claudia, our exceptional beach waitress kept us from going dry! Our old friends Claudius always stopped what he was doing to ask us if there was anything we needed. We met our new friend Nicholas and he invited us to have lunch where he was working and saw him at our last breakfast. We were serenaded by Latoya at Gordon’s (with a Celine Dion song no less!) and she was genuinely warm towards us (such a sweetheart). We saw our old friends Neville (we had missed connecting with him the last few years and Anya from the spa. We met them both on our first trip to the Grande. We always travel to celebrate our anniversary and this year they pulled out all the stops as far as decorating our room. It was the “Gold Standard!” I had been silly with our housekeeper through the week, one time squeaking loudly down the hall with my wet crocs, I put my finger to my lips and told her “shh! I’m invisible!” Just before we got to our room (on our anniversary) we saw Miss Candice and she asked us which room was ours and when I pointed to our room she grew silent. When we entered the room it was pitch black and we had to step in to see the flickering (battery powered) tea candles. There were Towel creations, balloons, signs, flower petals, a fruit & shrimp plate, chocolate cake and of course, champagne! After we took it all in, I went outside and caught Miss Candice in the hall and asked her if she had been “in” on the room decorations. She proudly said that she had done the towel art decorations. I told her how beautiful the room was and thanked her. She stopped us two days later and told us that she was going to be off for the weekend and told us that she was going to miss us! Where else in the world would something like that happen!?! The Sandals Grande St. Lucia resort is beautiful but its greatest asset is the people.
Arrival: Pros- staff was friendly, drinks provided while waiting for check in. Cons-spa personelle showed us to our room and was giving hard sell for spa services. I was trying to get to the beach not discuss massage prices. We did end up getting a couples massage a few days later, it was overpriced and just okay...
No one told us about orientation so we had to figure everything out on our own. Felt like the check in process was rushed.
Room: Pros- clean, well stocked initially Cons-bed was dated and missing pieces of the bed post. The bed spring, at the head of the bed, had disgusting stains. I covered the stains up with a towel, but each day housekeeping would remove the towel. Had to ask more than once for the bar to be restocked and toward the end of the stay it wasn't restocked even after our request.
Staff: Pros-For the most part everyone was friendly and helpful. Cons-One bartender was not very friendly and one staff member, cleaning the restroom, was shockingly rude, she closed the door in my face. Note, there was no sign that the bathroom was closed for cleaning but she acted as if I was in her way.
Food: Pros- Bombay was amazing, thanks to the concierge for the suggestion because it was not even an option I was considering. Unfortunately we were only able to get reservations once at that restaurant. Room service breakfast was good. Cons- definitely not 5 star, none of the restaurants. Kimono and the Italian restaurant were the worst in my opinion, not edible. Also at Kimono they pack the table so there is maybe am inch of space between you and the person sitting next to you. Room service menu was limited. There were other food options but if you didn't know to ask you would miss out. Food was still just ok, but convenient. Breakfast options limited we ended up only going to the restaurant once and the rest of the time ordering room service. I was ready to go home at the end just to get a good meal.
Beach: Pros- water was beautiful, beach was clean and many options for seats in the shade, if you get there early enough. Cons-people on the beach trying to sell excursions. A couple of times no beach towels were available.
Overall: We were celebrating our honeymoon and thought a Sandals resort would provide the luxury we desired. In my option the food, the staff and the overall experience were no better at Sandals than at any of the other all inclusive resorts I have visited. For the amount of money I thought I would be blown away by my experience, but I honestly didn't see much difference. Sadly I can't say I was won over to become a loyal Sandals customer.
