High energy feel, pure pleasure

It was a pure pleasure from the get go. The transport from the airport to the hotel was organized by the hotel itself. We were welcomed by a cool, super professional and kind driver, dressed as he came straight out of the Reservoir Dogs - black tie, white shirt, well-tailored pants, shiny shoes, the shades...

Vast, open space reception at the Royal Ariston has an awesome view at the bay. It transported us immediately to that mindfulness state that we were looking for – complete relaxation of mind and body. Super responsive, quick, kind and polite smiling staff exudes a feeling of warmness and openness which is so characteristic for the best examples of the Adriatic hospitality. The room at the fifth floor of Ariston was totally to our taste. Stylish, decorated in the sort of neo art deco fashion. All new, super clean and orderly. Clearly, the sea view is the first thing we noticed. It is divine. To add to that view the height of the ceiling in the rooms at the Ariston is well above the Croatian standards. All that in the combination with a comfortable bed, high quality sheets and most of all the pillows gives a great night sleep which reviatlises the body and makes you get up early to use the morning to the full potential. Ah, those pillows! We keep on talking about those and would like to buy them for home. For those few days we spent on our early summer break at The Ariston in Dubrovnik - we jogged and exercised on the lungomare pathway aka “setnjica” to the city, used the gym for a quick work out session with dumbells (they have the hexagonal ones – which is certainly a major plus) and took a dive in the clear and deep sea. All that before the breakfast since the timing of it - it is until 10.30, allowed us to make the best use of the morning hours. The breakfast is delicious. No dietary habit is overlooked. As a sportsman I love eggs and bacon and I happily realized that no other bacon is as good as Dalmatian – it gives you the right fuel that you can burn throughout the day. My fiancée is more for a cereals and fruit approach and she was delighted just as I was. The sea excursion which we booked at the Royal resort first took us first close to the walls of the old city, then to the amazing sand beach at the island of Lopud and then for a cocktail at the Bowa restaurant and bar at the island Sipan which is sort of a Bondesque hideaway. The skipper who speaks perfect English and Croatian tolds us many interesting stories about the region, the islands and the people of the area. We added a little extra romantic feel with a late evening swimming at the infinity pool located on the rooftop of the Royal Princess. We will certainly return to the Royal resort – maybe in the late summer, early autumn period or again in late May which is by the opinion of many locals probably the best time to enjoy Dubrovnik. Highly recommended.

Brilliant accommodation. And the views, wow!

Review by Trail36925235571 Great Yarmouth, United Kingdom

Came here for our honeymoon, lovely clean hotel. I advise booking a sea room as only one side of the hotel faces the sea, trust me it’s worth the extra. Also the roof top bar is a must watch the sunset drinking cocktails over one of the best views I’ve witnessed...

Service is great, we haven’t got up to get a drink. Breakfast was good with loads of choice, go early though as it gets busy. Short bus ride to the old town which is absolutely amazing. The wall walk is a must, bucket list stuff!

Beautiful Dubrovnik

Review by Connector22475562457 Higham, United Kingdom

We had a luxury sea view double located on the fifth (top) floor. The hotel is spotlessly clean, modern and stylish. The room and the view were outstanding...

We’ve never slept on a more comfortable (very big) bed. In fact, we looked to see the brand name of the mattress as we may buy one! Having use of multiple and very nice pool areas - including a rooftop pool - was a real bonus. Also great to be able to jump off the rocks into the crystal clear water. This hotel had everything we needed and more. Just 10mins walk along a beautiful promenade to Lapad Bay, and a (£6-7 / 10min) taxi to the Old Town via Uber. Staff all very friendly, particularly reception staff. Definitely worthy of the positive reviews. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and will recommend to friends and family.

Fantastic location, service and value for money

Review by Alexandra L London, United Kingdom

A really great hotel and superb value for money for those used to paying 5star hotel prices for the equivalent on the Med.

Staff and service excellent, breakfast good with superb terrace, rooms modern, clean and very comfortable. Towels and robes particularly good with very comfortable bath.

The spa was very nice and reasonably priced. The events team were also helpful with trips etc…but we ended up booking on line and sorting ourselves...

The various bars, terraces and sun bathing areas provide spectacular views…just a shame the hotel doesn’t tell you more about them. The Blue Sky lounge (adult only area) is amazing! The Cave Bar down the road is also worth a visit for sunset drinks or late morning coffee.

Easy to catch bus into town (although we never did as if there are 2+ of you…you may as well get Uber for the extra £2).

Beautiful promenade leading to lovely restaurants, swimming areas, bars etc…great for couples, fun weekend with friends, families. Not suitable for wheelchair users at all though.

I’m a Fairmont and Luxury Hotels of the world fan and I have to say…the facilities and views put the Royal collection in this part of Dubrovnik up there.
