The hotel is great. Super beautiful, nice rooms with very nice views. The service is really good...
The food is ok. Super tranquil, with own beach. Everything is clean and is worth its money. We had a very nice experience and very nice time in the hotel. They were very nice to bring chocolate every evening.
We've been stayin at Dubrovnik Palace several years in a row and there's something really comforting in knowing they will never disappoint. The rooms are lovely, spacious and excellently equipped, as is the hotel in general (pool, private beach, a-la-carte dining, poolside bar, scubadiving...). The staff is excellently trained and highly professional. My one and only objection is the lack of choice when it comes to beer; the poolside bar only offers one kind, and not a very good one - Ozujsko...
You'd expect a much wider selection, including both domestic and imported brands.
Our stay here was absolutely perfect, I read some reviews on trip advisor before booking which made me slightly wary however decided to go with family recommendations of a previous visit and booked. We Couldn’t be happier that we did.
First of all it’s human nature to instantly compare and we have travelled a lot...
Most of our stays have been in large 5* resorts on the Indian Ocean or Caribbean which is a completely different experience and once we got over that we could really see Dubrovnik palace for what it was and I would definitely say it is a beautiful 5* hotel.
The views from the rooms, bars, pool and restaurants are absolutely stunning, the food in the buffet restaurant was very pleasant, plenty choice at breakfast and different food most nights for dinner. Definitely the nicest buffet I have experienced in a hotel for dinner. (That being said we ate out through choice 4 out of 7 nights as we like to have the best of both worlds). Staff during the buffet experience were always efficient, pleasant and attentive. No complaints.
The full hotel is spotless, the bathrooms dotted around the hotel were lovely again very clean, the pool area is spotless along with the pool. The rooms were also spotless. Again not one complaint In regards to cleanliness & this is important to me.
The rooms had the most beautiful view we could have asked for, very spacious, bathroom again spotless, shower was great. Lovely bathrobes and slippers provided in room. Room service can be ordered by the tv and is also very nice.
Almost all staff in the hotel were pleasant, nothing was ever a bother from sending things to the room that we needed such as ice, scissors, taking our luggage to our room, phoning taxis, printing documents, the list goes on. A special mention to Innes at consierge for recommending and booking meals out with the hotel and helping with our Covid testing again making everything very simple and easy for us. Another to Eddie at the downstairs bar for being extremely attentive and kind, engaging in general chit chat and couldn’t be friendlier and more professional if he tried, his colleague was also great unfortunately I can’t remember his name but he brought us along some leaving cakes on our departure and it was very much appreciated. The manager of the bars was also professional and helpful. Staff on the main doors were very attentive and welcoming every time we left or arrived back. Service in general for the duration of our stay was definitely 5*.
The hotel has a main pool and two others along with access to the ocean. The seats around the hotel for sunbathing are plentiful and we didn’t have any bother finding somewhere to relax. The hotel provides towels at the pool area and there is a bar to order drinks.
Small recommendations from someone who has spent time in a lot of 5* hotels just because there’s always room for improvement right ?
The welcome on arrival should be a little more personal and attentive. Our flight arrived in the morning and we couldn’t check in until the afternoon 2.30pm. I’ve never came across this when travelling before the room is always available and it’s not ideal when you have been travelling through the night and need a wee sleep. We weren’t given any refreshments on arrival, again in my experience usually champagne on arrival in a 5* hotel or at least water. Usually we are sat down to check in to go over the details of the hotel instead of having to figure it all out ourselves. This would just been better. Bottled water in general is usually free to guests throughout the day and again in room. Especially when the local shops are further away and the last thing anyone wants is to spend money on water. (Save it for the alcohol). To be picky the loungers at the pool aren’t the comfiest and the ones on our balcony were a little dated compared to the hotel. Our room was turned over brilliantly during the day but only ever done once at night, I think possibly due to the time they came round 6pm ( we were always getting ready) I did miss coming back in to a tidy room after a night out however the cleaning was brilliant when done. Lastly there is a restaurant on the beach however a little snack bar at the pool for pizzas, chips & burgers to eat wouldn’t have went a miss again because the nearest place to grab a quick bite is a bit of a walk.
I hope this completely honest review helps anyone looking to book, I would highly recommend for the views and service alone. Thank you for an amazing stay and making our holiday special.
We’re currently staying here, returning home tomorrow. This is a lovely hotel, beautiful views all around the hotel, food and staff are lovely. We have no complaints at all...
I would reccomend using Uber taxis to get around, cheaper than the usual taxis here and you know what your paying. The old town is unbelievably beautiful, definatly go and see. Lovely break away.
This is meant to be a 5 star hotel. It's not. Don't get me wrong, it's nice enough...
The staff are generally very nice, attentive and helpful. But the hotel doesn't reach the standards of a 5 star. My biggest complaint is that's it's also a conference hotel that allows the conference to completely take over the entire hotel and so disrupt the stay of non conference guests. Only the night before we got a letter to say the terraces above the pool would not be available to us. "Big deal!" I might hear you shout at me, and I would have agreed with you at the beginning, except that the conference guests never seemed to be at the conference events. Between them they took over the pool bar all day, despite them having a designated area. Given this, I'm disappointed that we were never told there was a conference on when we booked, which would have been courteous. If you get it when there's not a conference on, the location is good for lapad. The pool/sea area is nice too.
