THE Place to Stay

Review by Susan S Nashville, Tennessee

The hotel is lovely and the location is great, but it is the staff that really makes this hotel standout. The staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Just a short walk from the city gate makes it easy to visit the old city...

The room was nice size, comfortable and very clean. Great executive lounge.

excellent hotel .....

Review by alihM2132CT Altrincham, United Kingdom

location: great. 5 minutes walk from the old city. 1 minute from a major bus and taxi stop. hotel: beautiful...

great staff who were very welcoming, helpful and professional. concierge staff in particular are very knowledgeable and very keen to help. they all made us feel special. there is a decent indoor pool, gym, sauna etc. we didn't use it but went down to have a look and met the guy there. he was grumpy and not very welcoming. if anything, that was the only negative in the whole stay. rooms: we took king bed premium. room is very well designed, relatively spacious with a sofa, dining table and 2 chairs, large screen tv, fridge bar, kettle and coffee facilities. NO coffee machine. bathroom may need a bit of updating but was fine. has a bath with a shower. room service was excellent. food: breakfast is very good quality and all done with attention to details. not a huge selection but it was high quality and more than enough. you could order freshly made eggs, omelette..etc and it is done to a very high standard. probably they need to add more fruits. you could sit in or out and both areas are great. we had dinner once. the chicken soup was less than basic we though but the main course was very nice. executive lounge is only limited to executive rooms. i wouldn't waste my money to sea view or balcony because its not worth it at all. it isn't a place where you would stay in your room for long and the views from the bar patio is fantastic and much better. also balconies are not private which is restrictive. city: beautiful. lots of churches, very small, restaurants and coffee shops. we had a private walking tour organised by the hotel, £100 for 2 hours, although the guide stayed with us for 3.5 hours as they were more interested in us and making sure the experience is top class rather than the money they earn which was really impressive. overall: if you are after doing something every day, i would say 3-4 days are more than enough or you may hire a car and go to montenegro, falls, islands etc. if you are for a stroll by the sea, relaxing and drinking coffee, you could stay forever! staying near the city is very important because it is very hilly and walking can be tiring especially when it is hot. there are plenty of flat rentals inside the city but bare in mind they maybe high and you have to climb endless staircases!

Wonderful Location, Beautiful Hotel and Delightful Friendly Staff !

Review by Michael F Coventry, United Kingdom

One of the best hotels ever ! We stayed 3 nights in an Executive suite with fantastic views ! From the minute we arrived we were made to feel relaxed and special. The hotel is bright, immaculate with terrific sumptious terrace. The breakfast restaurant choice was simply the best, with complimentary champagne and smoked John Dory no less ! Our room was very comfortable with excellent amenities...

The Executive Lounge was a delightful treat not to miss, with the bubbly Mariana hostess. The canapes, drinks, cakes and nibbles were first class !! We finished our visit by taking the hotel car back to the airport. A little more expensive than local taxi but worth it, as the driver was again delightful !

Beautiful architecture, good service.

Review by Ryszard_Krakow Krakow, Poland

The hotel lives up to all the good reviews. Beautiful location of the hotel, close to the old town of Dubrovnik, the main street Stradum. Many rooms have a great view of the sea, some of the old city walls or mountains, others of the building with nice architecture. Very kind service. Very good restaurant, great selection of fresh and good quality products for breakfast...

Dinner - à la carte dishes. Discreet, very good room cleaning. Well-stocked Executive Lounge. Thanks to Mrs. Amira Regić for booking a room with a beautiful view on the anniversary of her marriage.
