Loved it

Stayed her for nights and the whole experience was great. Reception was helpful, room spacious and comfortable, breakfast had a good choice and the service was exceptional. Used the spa and was one of the best massages I have had...

The bus was a couple of minutes walk and we’re clean and regular into the old town and ran u tip midnight so no need for taxi. Would definitely return.

Great hotel.

Review by karolinai107 Blackpool, United Kingdom

We had a great time at Neptun hotel. Service is excellent and breakfast was great. We stayed for 4 days and it wasn’t too busy...

Plenty of Sunbeds free and sunshine all day. Uber to old town £6 and 15 minutes walk down the promenade to restaurants and bars. Hotel has few restaurants but food is average and overpriced. There’s few pools to chose from. Overall excellent stay.

Wonderful views and great staff

Review by Kilkito Kirkintilloch, United Kingdom

We stayed in a family suite in April 22. We had originally planned to stay in Summer 20 but then Covid happened and the hotel indicated we could not have a refund but could have a credit for a stay at another time. We tried to arrange for a trip this summer but were told the price was double what we’d paid for the summer 20 holiday and would have to pay almost the same again...

As result we booked for Easter and that way it didn’t cost anymore than we’d already paid at the start of 2020.

First and foremost, before getting on to the hotel, I must mention Dubrovnik itself. What a place! I knew it would be nice but I was truly blown away by it, it’s beautiful…the coastline is magical and constantly eating, relaxing and having a beer in so many great spots in this beautiful area created so many great moments. As we were there just before Easter it was still very quiet, the season had just started, which was great for us, and the weather was still very warm every day, then cold at night once the sun went down and restaurants would give out blankets.

The Croatians we encountered from the driver that picked us up at the airport on were the friendliest and warmest people I’ve ever encountered….everyone also speaks great English which was very handy and the service in restaurants and bars is excellent.

In terms of the hotel, it is part of a 4 hotel complex. It really doesn’t feel like 4 seperate hotels, it feels like one complex…and although it’s 4 hotels doesn’t feel huge or overbearing. It is hard not to be impressed when you first arrive in reception and you have panoramic view of the sea! The service in the hotel was excellent from those on reception, to the bar staff, to the Spa staff, to the pool side staff. All were very friendly, helpful, and very very efficient. You can use all the facilities so there are various outdoor pools, a number of bars, an indoor pool, a restaurant and a Spa. We didn’t use the restaurant as preferred to eat out at the entrance to or in the Old Town. Breakfast is served for all 4 hotels in the same place…I was a bit disappointed with the food. The location for breakfast is fantastic, right on the sea and can eat outside or inside…it is immaculately clean and your plate is removed within a minute by the very efficient staff. The food itself I didn’t think was great…one toaster that was incredibly slow and didn’t toast the thawing bread properly…must be quite a queue for it during the peak season. Lots of breads and hams and cheeses on offer but to be honest some of the ham and cheese seemed of a poor standard and the hot food I didn’t try as it looked very unappealing. The room itself was great…as I mentioned, we were in a “family suite” this really meant you went thorough one door and there was a communal room with seats and a sink…with a single room on one side for our son and a double room on the other for myself and my wife. It was on the top floor(the 8th) and the view of the sea was absolutely stunning, to wake up with the glass doors open and the sound of the sea and a sea breeze, wonderful. The rooms were a very good size and a sizeable balcony to! The cleaners are great, we often had “do not disturb” up if we were having a lie in or our son was, but whenever we did remove it, they were in as soon as they could be and did a great job. The whole hotel is very clean, and clearly very well run and I really can’t imagine anyone having anything to complain about if you stay there. I also had a couple of massages that were very reasonably priced and they were the best I’d ever had. There’s also a well equipped gym. There is a stunning walkway that goes right through the hotel and on for 1.3 km to the beach. The walkway is built out from the edge of the coast and is a lovely way to start the day strolling along before breakfast. Most days you will find you want to go to the old town at night…it’s where most people go for their evening meal and drinks and is by far the busiest area of the Town. We asked reception to call a taxi every night, time given for arrival was usually 6 minutes. It was always punctual and would take about 12 minutes to get to the old town costing before a tip…approx 90-100 Kuna. Must dos when you are there as well as walking the city walls are go up and have lunch or dinner in the panoramic restaurant after taking the cable car…go on a cruise, we went on a small boat…just us and the skip, stopping in small bays to swim into stunning caves, truly fantastic….and make sure if you like a drink to have one at both the Cave Bar and the Buza bar as the sun goes down…you won’t regret it!

Me and my family had a wonderful time in Dubrovnik and at this hotel and plan to go back for at least a long weekend next year. Dubrovnik is a special place, the Croatians were so friendly, and this hotel is a perfect base from which to enjoy it, large rooms, stunning views and great staff.

Excellent hotel with great views

We stayed for 4 nights at Royal Hotel Neptun at the end of October 2021 and were really impressed. Our room was very clean and there was plenty of choice at the breakfast buffet. Staff were friendly and helpful and views here are incredible...

We had a balcony with sea view at the side of the hotel and 90% of the view was of the sea.

The number 6 bus goes to Old Town and is literally a few yards from the hotel. Would definitely travel here around September/October again as the crowds are gone and access to everything is alot easier as it is less busy.

Quiet, clean hotel with a few opportunities for improvement

Review by Kayakgirly London, United Kingdom

I booked this hotel two weeks in advance of my visit as my original hotel booking got cancelled. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Yes, there are some building works not complete (indoor pool) but they weren’t being worked upon during my stay so noise was not an issue...

Upon check-in I was told that as I was on half board, I could eat a la carte at the Zoe restaurant or at La Castile at the buffet. I thought I’d try Zoe on the first night and got told that I should eat at the buffet. Clearly they didn’t want half board guests eating there (see separate reviews for the restaurant ). I didn’t bother returning to Zoe as the buffet had sufficient choice although desserts didn’t vary much and it suited to et there. The hotel had what I needed, sufficient choice of sun loungers both by the sea and by the pools. Towels were easy to find once you knew where to look. WiFi didn’t work on the balcony but it worked perfectly in the room which limited the use of the balcony. The balcony faced directly into the rooms of the Royal Blue opposite which was fine as it was end of season but I’m not sure that it would have been the case during busy season. Overall I got what I wanted, a quiet break in the sun. I’d consider this hotel again if I returned to Croatia.
