Dubrovnik

This charming and comfortable venue is located directly on the clear blue Adriatic Sea in the Bay of Lapad. The popular promenade is within walking distance, and a bus that goes to the Old town stops just in front of the hotel. Dubrovnik Airport is approximately 23 km away. The cosy and comfortable are carefully decorated and equipped with details that make all stays pleasant and priceless. The restaurant features one of Dubrovnik's most beautiful terraces with magnificent sea views and serves tantalising dishes, with a wine list to match. Those who want to enjoy a light Mediterranean meal and a chilled drink can visit the Lido beach bar, it is also the place from where to grab a colourful cocktail during the day while enjoying the pebbled beach.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

City break

Review by Rita H Driffield, United Kingdom

Well if you don’t like steps, it’s not for you, also no lift, room basic, shower was bog standard, No KETTLE, Balcony was at the front, so trees was our view, if you want sea view you pay extra, The sink In the bathroom left a pool on the floor after use, No curtains to draw on a night so the room was lite up with the street lights on a night . While we were there a coach of German kids turned up, very disrespectful , shouting and screaming at the front of the hotel on our last night, no management went out to shut them up. Then charging about in the hotel , so glad it was our last night . Other than that - found nice places to eat, Weather was rubbish while we were there, very windy , so take sensible shoes leggings and jumpers if going in April
Lots of stray Cats about

Decent and cheap

I stayed at hotel Vis for 5 nights and there were some good and bad points-

the location was good and it was very near to restaurants and bars probably only 10 mins from centre of Dubrovnik in Taxi.

the food in hotel was average at best some nights good some bad.

the room its self was small but the bathroom was in decent condition.

there was no safe in the room that was a big problem!!!

make you pay for sunbeds that's a bit stupid.

the view is very nice and it is right on the beach.

good if you want cheap to stay for couple days but there is also no pool that's not great.

overall I would give it a 5/10

Worth it just for the view....

Review by sam s Basingstoke, United Kingdom

The hotel is a fantastic location the view out across that bay is just stunning ( I paid £300 more for a double sea view room for just me. And I was glad I did!) the bus stop outside is also good every 20 minutes straight into the old city in 15 minutes. My double sea view room was on the 3rd floor and getting my luggage up the stairs was hard work. No lift and no one to help...

But I wanted the top floor for the view! I just couldn't get enough of it and quickly forgot the effort it took getting up there. There is no lift and stairs to everywhere but you are on the edge of a hill so it's to be expected I guess! Lady on reception when I arrived was a bit frosty and ubrupt, I got there at 10am and I couldn't check in till 2pm so had to leave luggage on view in reception and told me to come back at 2, bar and beach that way! But when I booked late checkout it was a different lady and she couldn't be more helpful and she also called to get my transfer pick up time for me. I wish I had took her name to give her a mention. Late check out was 300kuna and no problem at all, but the hotel was half empty as it was last week of the season. With last week of the season in mind I am told there was live music for all the season but had stopped the week before I arrived as it was end of the season! For me it was My 1st holiday since covid and some live music would of made the evening more enjoyable. As it was very quiet and lacked life on an evening. Lapad was definitely on a wind down. Not much going on anywhere and everyone said I should of come early. The aperitiv bar was good for a few drinks after dinner. The bar staff Mario and Josko did an amazing job with the little ingredients they had, Mario will perfect a cocktail to just the way you like it. Josko has some great conversation about Croatia traditions and food! Thanks guys! The food. Breakfast was OK exactly the same every day! I was pleased to see bacon but quickly realised it was fatty and under cooked. The croissants were all the same plain, sprinkled with icing Sugar or a runny chocolate sauce. Ham and cheese, bread rolls and fruit and yogurt, with a couple of cheep cereals. I don't eat a big breakfast so it was enough for me. Evening meal if you are happy with cheap and basic then you will be OK. I am a bit of a foodie and don't want to eat spag bol or lasagne that I can cook better! There was always a pasta dish, plain fish unfortunately for me mainly tuna! Pork chops and turkey or chicken schnitzel and beef stew dish the beef was very tender but more sauce then beef most nights. The food was never hot! And this put me off most nights, the Ban Marie needs turn up. The restaurant manager always made me feel welcome, he is another member of staff doing the best he can with what is there. The beach is just beautiful, a d the biggest let down is paying 30 kuna for a sunbed, and no cushions! They are so hard and uncomfortable, with no pool you would expect free sunbeds on the beach for guests! If you want a pool you can use the hotel across the road for 100kuna per person per day. I didn't as I was addicted to the view from the beach, the water is crystal clear and warm and lots of fish to see. so take a snorkal! Food and drink was not cheap anywhere in lapad or duprovnik but if I ever went back I would just do bed and breakfast at this hotel and eat out. I would stay here again but don't plan to as the world is a big place.... Oh and don't forget pat extra for a room with a view 😍❤️

Beautiful Location in Lapad

Review by Clive and Clair... B Hockley, United Kingdom

This is a classic 3 star European hotel and fully met our expectations. The location is excellent with an adjacent pebble beach.

We stayed on a half board package but ate out a few times to enjoy some of the local restaurants, such as Maskeron.

The staff were both friendly and helpful.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and Croatia is a beautiful country.

Great Location

I spent a week (11th Sept 21) as a single traveller. I didn't have a sea view room but that was ok with me. I found the staff incredibly helpful especially Vesna who helped me while I was sorting out my COVID paper work...

She then printed out the paper certificates for me.

The choice at breakfast was amazing and was great to sit outside with the bay view.

The cobbled beach is on the hotel doorstep so that was ideal.

You can walk to other beaches and bars along the beach front.

There is a bus stop outside the hotel that takes you outside Pile gate of Dubrovnik Old town and only takes 15 mins or so.

All the staff were friendly and very hard working.
