To see a five star hotel with such a sleek, contemporary sense of style is a rare treat. From the individually colour co-ordinated rooms to the stunning layout and views, this is a facility that has the feeling of a stylish boutique hotel, but on a grander scale and with an incredible array of facilities.
No wonder then that the St Raphael Resort has been named the leading all-inclusive Cyprus resort for the last two years running. Set in beautifully landscaped grounds on the outskirts of Limassol and boasting its very own sandy beach and marina, it is the ultimate holiday oasis.
Tucked away in its four acres of grounds, but still conveniently close to Limassol – a thriving hub of good restaurants, must-see cafes and the busy waterfront – the St Raphael Resort hotel is in a league of its own.
Its range of facilities goes far beyond the norm to include a solarium, beauty salon and steam baths. You can truly indulge yourself with a hydro-massage or beauty treatment; even a new hairstyle. Like we said, this is a real holiday haven; an oasis of peace and contentment.
You'll find the same level of perfection in the guests' rooms. As well as air conditioning and drinks making facilities, you will enjoy the tasteful furnishings, the satellite TV with a range of pay movies, and even ice makers and shoe polishers in the hallways.
And if you do ever tire of the wonderful luxury, you can push yourself further in the gym or on the tennis courts.
We recommend, rounding off the day with a fabulous meal in one of the hotel's fine restaurants, followed by a very convivial drink at the bar. This is the time to relax (even more) as you look out over your surroundings and appreciate it to the full.
If you thought luxurious living was going out of fashion think again. The St Raphael Resort hotel is dedicated to your utmost enjoyment, giving you an exemplary standard of holiday living.

Located on the outskirts of Limassol offering breathtaking panoramic views the luxurious 5* St Raphael Resort is set amongst 10 acres of landscaped gardens, as well as bordering one of the largest sandy beaches in Limassol. St Raphael Resort is winner of Cyprus' Leading All-inclusive Resort 2008-2011, Mediterranean's Leading Resort 2009-2011 and the winner of World Luxury Hotel Awards 2010.
Not sure how this is a 5 star resort based on the poor customer service. I can only assume it gets it 5* from the facilities it has which are very good but the people/staff and how they respond to issues makes the holiday for their guests.
We were told by reception we had to pay for cans of pop to be replenished in the mini bar even though we were all inclusive (however, I could go an pick up 10+ cans from the beach bar if I wanted to as part of all inclusive - not ideal if we want a quick drink in the room as it's a 15 minute round walk!).
Air con was faulty for 3 days, reported it 4 times, at no stage did anyone attempt to contact us or leave a note in the room to say it was fixed so I had to keep checking myself...
Each time I had to go back to reception to enquire about it they just said it would get fixed. 3 bad nights sleep and no apology from reception. Issue was a faulty sensor which should have been fixed first time round. We had to move us and two young kids to a temporary room late at night as the room was so hot and our young children were really struggling with it (again no apology from the same man on reception) and it came across as he thought he was actually doing us a favour). By this time I had lost my patience with the man at reception.
Food and staff at Seashells were lovely and they did good lunch time food, the rest of the place wasn't very good. Two mornings at breakfast I had to chase for a coffee / tea. Variety is limited but some of the food was very nice.
Couldn't book the a-la-carte at reception and was told to book it with the restaurant which we tried on the second day to be told it is full all week!! Little warning from reception or on the website to book well in advance would have been useful.
Absolute racket at 2am after a wedding party decided they were going to spend 30 minutes shouting down the corridors. How long does someone have to cause chaos before staff put a stop to it.
Upon check out I pushed the same reception person to see if I could get an apology out of him for 3 days with no aircon- nothing! Just told me the bill is settled and that was it.
It says some premium brands on the drinks list on the website for all inclusive, non of these were available when we asked for them.
For the money we spent this was absolutely not what we expected. I don't complain much but this is certainly worth highlighting to other people thinking of going there.
I have even emailed the hotel owner Farah Shammas directly and this has not been responded to.
Hope this review helps others who are looking for a relaxing 5* break - try somewhere else!
We had a brilliant all inclusive week away at St Raphael Resort. We were originally meant to stay here in May 2020 but Covid cancelled it so it was a long awaited break. We had a late flight but we luckily arrived in time for last orders...
The all inclusive ends at midnight but the staff kindly let us continue to get drinks after midnight due to our late arrival.
I chose this hotel as it had been recommended to me due to having plenty of vegan options available. The food in the buffet restaurants at breakfast and dinner all had the vegan options clearly labelled which was extremely helpful. There were different themes each evening at the buffet restaurant; the French evening was probably my least favourite though as there wasn't a main course vegan option; I did however really like the onion soup! It would have been nice if there had been vegan pizza on Italian night and I think I'd have really enjoyed a Mexican night but other than that overall the food was pretty good. I was extremely happy that there was vegan wine available, I think that made my holiday!
I really enjoyed the Seashells bar on the beach; the burger and falafels were amazing. The only slight disappointment was that only certain items were included in the all inclusive package. I think for the price we paid for the holiday it would have been nice to have the whole menu to choose from.
I probably would have rated the hotel as excellent if there had been a bigger selection of evening restaurant options included in the all inclusive package. We never tried the Alakati restaurant as we couldn't see any suitable options on the menu.
We fancied a night off from buffet food so we booked in to the Golden Monkey Thai restaurant which is in the hotel grounds; the restaurant was amazing and was worth every penny.
The entertainment girls are lovely and we really enjoyed our daily picture quiz and aqua Zumba sessions.
There was a singer most evenings in the bar; I would have liked it if there had been a few more lively songs. I was a bit jealous that the children got a disco, I'd have quite liked having a dance!
We paid extra for a sea view which I think is definitely worth it as we got to see the lovely sunset each day and the view round the back of the hotel is pretty dull.
I got a little gift left in my room from the management on my birthday which was lovely, thank you.
The pool was really relaxing and I loved the swim up bar. It was such a relief that there were plenty of sunbeds each day as there's nothing worse than having to get up early to reserve a bed.
I loved the hotel cats, they mostly stay out of the way but there are a few that will come over for a stroke.
Overall it was a really wonderful holiday and I would definitely recommend.
Writing this sitting on the beach in the sun and yes fantastic fast internet throughout the hotel complex The hotel grounds are clean spacious , plenty of sun beds in all areas beach , pools and well kept gardens Our room (ex marine view ) is spotlessly clean and spacious with a great view The standard of food in all the buffet restaurants , pool and beach restaurants is great always hot and delicious and best of all the staff in these areas are efficient and friendly and serve with a smile and a chat The restaurant manager in the buffet main restaurant greets you with a smile and chat and efficiently keeps the place running , his job made harder when Covid rules not being abided too !!! The pool bar are managed by some wonderful friendly young staff and make you feel very welcome The ladies at the splash are super friendly and very efficient The evening bar is also served by quick efficient staff asking if wanting refills Animation team ask in polite friendly manner to join in activities Well done to all staff in all departments and chefs you make this hotel the standard it is Visited the Thai al a carte for dinner one eve and it was fantastic. Yes this is a older hotel and needs a bit of updating in places and I am sure it will in time but don’t let previous reviews deter you from visiting you won’t be disappointed 100% to all staff in all departments Stay safe
Great hairdresser! Really professionelle, sweet and great with our kids. I definitely think she can master any type off hair and hairstyle after seeing her cutting our hole family (my kids are 5 and 8).
Location: the hotel is located quite far from Limassol city which I would say is a strong plus as Limassol itself not a nice place to be. The city is dirty and is lacking many facilities so it’s better to stay away from it.
Food: food is mostly British - sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs. Quality of fruits and vegetables is 3/5 - At home I never buy that cheap food and was surprised to get it in a 5-star hotel...
Service: the only element of 5 star hotel here is pricing. Everything else is not compliant with 5-star requirements. If you have ever been to Kempinski or Four Seasons, you would be disappointed. For example, we paid for breakfasts and dinners and changed dinners for lunch ad our baby goes to sleep early so we were not able to visit dinners anyway. There were 2 cases when waiters were aggressively asking to pay for the lunch or leave the restaurant without any attempts to clarify the sotuation. This was extremely disappointing and confusing experience. Only manager was able to resolve the problem (and suggested to visit a dinner for free - haha). One more thing is dirty rooms - when we arrived, we received a room with hair all over the floor and towels had stains!! This was shocking considering that this in not 3-star hotel. We asked for replacement, but nobody helped us to move to another room with all the luggage, stroller and stuff.
Territory: quite big for Cyprus, nice garden. The beach is quite clean.
Rooms were renovated in 2019, but generally you get a hotel built in 80s - again, this is not a 5star hotel.
Verdict: if you’re planning to eat outside the hotel and never been to real 5star hotels - this option can work, but in all other cases consider another one.
