Limassol

If you're tempted by Limassol's wonderful beaches, its many tourist amenities, or even its vineyards, then The Royal Apollonia (formally the Apollonia Beach Hotel) has got to be high on your list of places to stay. In 2013 this majestic five-star facility underwent a full renovation and additions to the hotels already impressive selection of facilities include the creation of new à la carte restaurant and a fabulous island-shaped outdoor pool. Choose this property for your Cyprus holiday and you'll be right at the heart of Limassol, in among the hustle and bustle. With countless restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, it's a thriving holiday home – but still within sight of the tranquil Troodos mountains and a whole other side of Cyprus.

Choose The Royal Apollonia for a luxurious five-star experience:

Take a moment to savour the setting: The Royal Apollonia, with mountains to the north and, below you, the glittering Mediterranean and a perfect sandy beach. Sounds idyllic doesn't it? Then factor in all the benefits of the Limassol location, plus all the amenities of a five-star hotel, part of the Louis Hotel Premium Collection, and you know you're in for a wonderful holiday.

With so many things to do, the time is going to fly by. Take a short stroll into town and soak up the vibe; there's always something new to see in Limassol, perhaps somewhere to eat and while away the hours…

Take a trip up into the mountains and enjoy the stunning views – you'll get a whole new perspective on Cyprus from up there. Or spend a day making the most of what The Royal Apollonia has to offer. The delightful indoor and outdoor pools are just the start, the gym centre features sauna and steam room; the games room is well-stocked, and there is tennis to enjoy too.

Dining at The Royal Apollonia is another treat– with Japanese, Greek and brassiere menus on offer, you'll have plenty to give your taste buds the holiday they deserve too.

As for your room, sitting out on your balcony, you'll look out over the Troodos mountains. And your in-room facilities, including air-conditioning/heating (Nov-Apr), satellite TV, telephone, hairdryer, minibar, tea & coffee facilities, bathrobes & slippers, 24-hour room service, Fruits & Bottle of water on arrival & individual safe boxes and Wi-Fi will make it a very comfortable stay. Seaview and a selection of other room upgrades are available at a supplement.

All of this – and great weather all year round – make Limassol and The Royal Apollonia perfect destination, whenever you need a holiday that's full of sun and full of possibilities.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Fantastic stay

Review by Cranebird Redditch, United Kingdom

This was our first visit back to Limassol after 34 years we found the area having quite a bit of construction along the main road in parts. WeTook a long walk down to the marina along the coastline instead of getting a taxi which took sometime but it was nice. We arrived in the early hours of the morning the reception area was impressive. We had a smooth check in and a small snack awaiting us in our room. The hotel room was clean, comfortable and had lovely toiletries, bathrobes and slippers...

The view walking out to the pool area in the next morning was amazing. It’s obvious that the staff work very hard to keep the hotel looking great. The buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner had a fabulous choice of menu all displayed and labelled well. The use of hand Sanitizer available at points. Chefs were always present to make up fresh food.. loved the salads. The Greek restaurant we tried was not too impressed with the main meal option mushroom tagliatelle had no flavour and the salmon was bland. The Japanese restaurant, however, was delicious. All the restaurant staff made us feel welcome especially Raphael he was always there remembering what are drinks we wanted. The poolside bar and surrounding pool area was great too, there’s an adult area if you want a quiet area.Lovely to have drinks whenever needed Martin and his colleagues work hard. The Spa area was lovely and we made use of having a few treatments. The staff here were also welcoming and friendly. We had a fantastic 9 days here and would not hesitate recommending a stay here.

Brilliant hotel and fabulous staff

Arriving at the hotel for a second time felt like home straightaway. The staff and management are exemplary in all they do. We felt like part of the family and everyone was so welcoming...

The reception and public areas are pristine and the service in all the bars is brilliant. It was great to see a lot of familiar faces, which in our eyes shows how well staff are looked after and that it’s a great place to work! Buffet restaurant had always lots of choice and was refreshed constantly, the pool areas were clean and inviting and always enough sun beds to soak up the sun and having a small beach and sea on the doorstep adds to the experience. Great location as you have many shops and bars around and the old town was just a taxi ride away. But the real advantage of staying here is the wonderful staff, they really make your holiday and we would like to add our thanks and congratulations on making this a fabulous destination. We cannot speak highly enough about the General Manager, the Operations Manager and all their colleagues for making this a great holiday and always going the extra mile to make your stay the best it can be. Well done and congratulations to all, truly deserved.Try it for yourself we would highly recommend this to anyone.

A real gem of a hotel

Review by Bramstoke Shrewsbury, United Kingdom

Such a lovely hotel, we had a great week away with another couple at the end of April/beginning of May.

We were greeted on arrival with a glass of sparkling wine and our luggage taken up to our room.

The view as you walk out of the hotel lobby to the rear is beautiful. Well maintained foliage and vibrant flowers are dotted everywhere and really enhance the view over the pool and sea beyond...

The staff clearly take pride in the hotel and work so hard to ensure your needs are taken care of. Particular mention should be given to Rafael in the restaurant and Martin at the pool bar who went out of their way to look after us every day. It was my partners birthday while we were there and we were presented with a bottle of sparkling wine and a delicious cake.

My partner and our friends all raved about their food, it was always hot and fresh with plenty of choice. I'm coeliac and didn't struggle at all, there was always hot food available for me as well as beautiful salads and desserts. On Italian night, the chefs brought me two different types of gluten free pasta and a gluten free pizza and I'm sure that they would have offered options at other meal times if there was nothing that I fancied.

The room was clean and tidy with lots of storage space and Caudalie toiletries in the bathroom. We were at the front of the hotel which can get a bit noisy at night, with cars/motorbikes so we'd advise taking ear plugs if you can't book a room overlooking the pool. It's not something the hotel can do a huge amount about but this was the only negative element of our stay.

Revisited - 30 years on!

Review by TheCloos65 Kendal, United Kingdom

We visited this hotel twice in the 1990s and decided to take our first post-pandemic holiday abroad back to Limassol. The hotel was as spectacular as we’d found it all those years ago. The reception, dining room, bar and cleaning staff were all exceptionally efficient and friendly, and just too many names to mention, all providing excellent service...

Checkin was a breeze, late at night and with the offer of a glass of fizz on arrival!

Our room 115 was on the first floor with balcony and sea view, and a hot tub. The room was clean and well looked after. The only cosmetic thing we felt could be dealt with were the cushions on the swinging chairs on the balcony could do with replacing having burst open. Anything you found you needed you just asked and it arrived.

The grounds are well maintained and the pool ever so nice, and the hotel has direct access to the beach.

We ate the majority of the time in the buffet restaurant on half board and found everything to be fabulous. We did do the Japanese restaurant one night as an option but not really that impressed with the food in comparison, rather underwhelming really. Maybe it’s just not our thing though!

Can’t recommend highly enough.

Perfect Stay

Review by miele965 Dubai, United Arab Emirates

We had a great time at the RA. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and supportive, esp. when it comes to local inquiries i.e...

rental cars, sights, general advises and recommendations. The room was perfect and the room service is doing a great job. Better to take a room with sea view since the main road can be busy and a bit noisy. The Bavarian beer garden across the street is amazing with original cuisine etc. Bus station close by as well as lots of good restaurants. Keep it up RA !
