Lovely first time in Cyprus

Review by ShaneLondonUk london uk

After staying at this hotel I thought it time to review our stay, upon arriving check-in was quick and staff very helpful as you exit towards the rooms through the dining hall there are some steps to go down or there is a ramp. Rooms are in blocks with the ground floor having a terrace and first floor having a balcony, we was lucky enough to have a balcony room overlooking the pool, the room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. The TV has a selection of channels not any good English ones so for those of you taking children my advice would be to do what we did get a memory stick and fill it with films etc you can plug it in the TV...

The staff during our trip were amazing very helpful and nothing was too much trouble, every morning as we came out for breakfast the cleaning staff were at the bottom of the stairs starting their day and if we needed anything they gave it to us, as for pool towels well we just took our towels from the room down to the pool and got them changed withe cleaning staff. Food, as with all AI holidays it can get a little repetitive that said there was always something that you could get, dishes were always labelled what the dish was but do not list ingredients. They have a hot station where they are cooking different things the usual buffet where food tends to be warm not hot, salads etc and a children's menu area. They also have an ice cream stand to the side which like the rest is self service there is also another food station at the other end of the pool (I think for daytime ) but we never went there. Jet2 Rep was fantastic a local Man who as we hired a car gave us some great island knowledge and tips making our time there even better, location couldn't be better you are within walking distance of the main part which also has the port with some amazing boat trips on offer, in all we had a fantastic time for a budget cost.

Disappointing Holiday Experience

Review by Phil D

I'm going to start by saying I'm not one for reviewing unless something was particularly great or disappointing.

Our impression of the staff were very rude. They were not willing to help in any way, we asked for ice cream for our children which was stated on the menu, this took a complaint to the manager to get the ice cream upon receiving it ,it was thrown on the table in an unpleasant manor. At snack time it clearly stated 3-5 we arrived at 4:50 and got a very abrupt waiter who told us we were too late...

He reluctantly got us snacks and wouldn't even let us move a chair from a vacant table to seat us all. The main toilet in the hotel was stained with faeces which we notified the front desk, several hours later it was still in the same condition. Ants all over our hotel room, a leaking balcony roof and no plug for the built in hairdryer. The food was below average and quite often had no labels so we didn't know what we were eating. The biggest disappointed of the holiday we paid extra to stay New Year's Eve, as stated by the programme welcome drinks were at 8 and to be seated by 8:30 and eating , we arrived well in advance with our children and we were still not seated by 9 with many of the other guests, our children became tired and upset as they were hungry which resulted in us having to go to a fast food chain. Upon requesting to speak to the manager (Mr Straudos) to explain our disappointment he refused to acknowledge our comments and literally turned his back and held his hand up to our face. The distinct lack of amenities and entertainment for the children, dispite an email prior to the holiday to make sure there would be children's entertainment provided. Their response in the email was during the winter months there will be animation activities during the day. The only kinetic entertainment for the children was a mini disco on the second evening which lasted a whole 9 minutes !
The kids play park was unfit for purpose; one slide which had a hole in it ! A very poor experience sadly and I certainly wouldn't recommend staying there.

Appalling Hotel & Staff

Review by jtomsi

Not a very pleasant stay. The service, attitude of staff as well as access to facilities appalling to say the least. Damp on the bedroom ceiling and walls (notified reception staff of at first sight) Water seeped through and caused a severe leak on our beds and personal belongings...

Staff were not Willing to help in any way. There were ants crawling on the floor consistently for the duration of our stay in the bedroom. The staff at reception were notified at first sight. The ‘HOT tub’ and ‘indoor heated pool’ which we were told was supposed to be functioning was NOT in full service to access at all. It was COLD for the duration of our stay, and we were lied to by the staff at reception on several occasions every morning that it is turned on at 27degrees when this was clearly NOT the case, it was evident that other guests experienced the same issue. The cleaners did not clean the rooms properly even once for the duration of our stay, when requested to go back they ignored us. The towels were disgusting, the toilets downstairs in the indoor swimming pool area were horrible and dirty. Left in the same condition hours later after requesting to rectify. Sauna was chargeable and you had to pay extra, towels for use in the pool area were chargeable. The food was always confusing to navigate and never had labels attached to it. Having certain food tolerances, we had to ask waiters several times as to what dishes were being served and the response, we got was incorrect always. The Hotel Manager on Duty ‘Mr Strados’, was RUDE, ABRUPT, ARROGANT, BAD MANNERED, IMPOLITE he simply walked away from me and did not listen to me carefully at all. Instead he gave me awful excuses such as “This is Cyprus ants will come”, “We cannot give you any compensation”. I was simply seeking for him to put a smile back on my face and perhaps compensate me with a Bottle of Wine or an extra few free meals or perhaps an Excursion elsewhere, but the Manager did not care to listen, walked away and did not act in good faith towards me. His assistance seemed to push the idea that this is ‘Company policy’. When I questioned if it is Company policy ‘not to resolve your guests’ complaints’ they replied with ‘yes’. Would NOT recommend to anyone to stay at this hotel resort.
