The 4-star Anastasia Beach Hotel is set in a beautiful location overlooking the sea near the small peaceful resort of Protaras, which is on the south-east of the island. Extensive grounds lead down to a delightful beach where a wide variety of watersports area normally available.
I stayed here in September with my mum, sister and niece. We found the room to be clean with comfortable beds and pillows. We were all inclusive and enjoyed the food at all times...
Before we flew out to Cyprus I had read a lot of bad reviews on Anastasia. I think that most of them are unfair and petty! This is a great family hotel, especially with the water park, my niece loved it. It’s in a good location too, with some nice restaurants/bars around if you like to go out of the hotel. It’s also not far from protaras strip.
I was really worried about our visit having read the previous reviews. Having spent a week here I can say that some of the reviews are a little over dramatic. We stayed towards the end of the season so the hotel was quieter - no problems with queuing for food or finding a sunbed in either the water park or by the pool...
The hotel itself is in need of a refurb. There are stains on the carpets, the chair cushions and ceiling tiles are past their best. We had a family room which was cleaned everyday. It was fine for us for a week however any longer may have been a struggle as there is limited storage space. Beds were ok however personally I didn’t find it too comfortable. My main gripe about the room was the air con which was extremely noisy. Even in October we had to keep it on during the night but for me that meant a disturbed sleep.
The food in the hotel was good - typical all inclusive style buffet and quality. Breakfast was good - not always the hottest but fine, and plenty of choice. The great thing was the dine around offer that came as part of the all inclusive package, which allowed us to eat at several restaurants within the same hotel group. All had a set menu with a couple of choices per course, the only exception being the Chinese which was fixed dishes but we could add extra if we wanted to. We ate at the Chinese, Mexican, sea glass (Italian) and an Italian on the main strip. All were great, and for my fussy son, there was the option of a kids menu when he didn’t want the main menu. The walk into protaras is lovely - walk along the seafront boardwalk and it takes 20 minutes.
We didn’t go to any of the entertainment which in part was because there was no information we could find on what was on. We used the water park a few times which the kids loved. The “rave” bar that is mentioned in other reviews was closed when we arrived on 16 October so can’t comment on how loud it really was.
In summary, we had a good week but I probably wouldn’t stay at this hotel again until it has had a refurb.
Dont forget to search this name at Greek blogs and read about what she do at 2018.... she killed a dog on purpose by throwing into a machine that crushing rubbish.... Μην ξεχαστε ποτε οτι η εν λογω κυρια καποτε πεταξε ενα αδεσποτο κουταβι σε καδο αποριματων και το συνθλιψε... Αισχος!
Gift from a friend, not my usual choice of hotel. Whilst very clean and staff friendly, found the dining experience too regimented. very impersonal, tables just set out in rows, close to each other, a different configuration would be less clinical...
Food ok but lacked anything in Greek traditional style. \\\hotel grounds very rowdy due to the pools having constant loud games and music, impossible to escape.
