Jacaranda Hotel Apartments
The beautiful apartment complex lies in southern Cyprus, only 500 m from the bay with a slightly sloping sand beach. Restaurants, bars and nightclubs are located a mere 800 m from the hotel. The resort centre of the popular holiday resort of Protaras is 4 km from the complex. Good bus links are available between the hotel and the resort centre, which depart from right outside the complex. The lively resorts Ayia Napa (roughly 18 km) and Paralimni (about 8 km) are easily reached using bus services. Transfer to Larnaca Airport takes about 50 minutes.
renovated in the year 2000, the superbly located complex consists of 150 apartments spread over 5 floors. Guests may make use of the spacious foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, safe, currency exchange desk, lift, games room, TV room, an Internet connection and bike hire. In addition to this, a bar, a small supermarket, a newspaper stand, a cosy bar and a restaurant are also available. Laundry services and medical assistance are further features, which may be taken advantage of. Outside the complex, guests will find is a playground and car parking facilities.
All studios and apartments are tasteful and modern. An en suite bathroom and hairdryer, a combined living room/bedroom, a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, a radio, a fridge, a kitchenette, air conditioning and a balcony or terrace. The apartments are similarly equipped and come with a separate bedroom. Final cleaning is included in the price.
There is a swimming pool in the well-maintained outdoor complex as well as a pool bar, sun loungers and parasols. Guests are offered to opportunity to participate in water aerobics courses, go to the sauna, receive massages and play table tennis and billiards. Various water sports can be undertaken on the beach, such as water skiing, diving or sailing. Parasols and sun loungers are also laid out ready for use.

Jet 2 take note of poor accommodation
Hotel is ok but like the sign for Jet 2 in the photo it is in desperate need of TLC. The hotel seems to be a primarily Russian hotel and I would say 80% of the visitors reflect this. The signs in the restaurant are only in Russian and the whole set up seems to reflect their needs. I’m happy to mingle with anyone but sometimes Russians can be a little brusque and not everyone’s cup of tea.
The room we stayed in looks nothing like the online advert. I’m prepared for a little leeway as photos are sometimes a little misleading but these we just not the truth. I’ve tried to take some pics for people to see. The rooms are a good size and clean in the places that matter (don’t look under beds!). The balcony can just about for two people on it and is very poor. The rooms are big but look like they have not received an update since the 1970s. The pool area is nice and kept clean but would watch the kids carefully (I’m sure everyone does)as the lifeguard is either on his phone or absent.
Reception tended to be staffed by one extremely polite lady or some rude individuals. You’ll see from the photos we got an infestation in the bedroom of some tiny beetles. I got as many as I could and took them to reception but she couldn’t have cared less. I was given some fly spray and sent on my way. I at least expected a visit or some concern.
The hotel is quiet at night and in a great location.
We won’t be staying here again as it’s not our cup of tea. I’ll pay a bit more and get some service and people who care about the customer.
It was ok for what we wanted
The apartments were very much a no frill place to stay but we got a great deal through Loveholidays and having two elder boys we don't need much other than somewhere to dump bags , sleep and clean up. Nothing wrong with the place just a little tired. The apartments though were a very good size and massive for me by myself and loads of room for the two boys. They could accommodate 4 people no problem. The location was great just off the main road so you did nt need to walk more than 5 mins to get to the bars and restaurants and probably a 10 minute walk to the beach. One thing to note, if you want to go for the kids club and entertainment etc make sure you have brushed up on your Russian. I think we were one of about 4 families in the whole place that were nt Russian so all the entertainment etc was centered around that. Not a problem for us and other than no one talking to you or saying hello in the lifts etc it did nt make any difference. The staff we very helpful and pleasant so no complaints there. In fact the only thing that was annoying is the doors to the apartments were very noisy so come 7.30 when all the families were piling down to breakfast it was horrendously noisy as they were all banging doors like there were no tomorrow....but there you go.
Cheap but not very cheerful
Before I came out I knew this hotel was a little tired but clean but I was still disappointed. We had a 1bed apartment that had a 2 hob stove and a fridge but no kettle for the tea and coffee making facilities advertised. We requested one but it was never delivered. We borrowed one from a friend. The sheets were not changed in the week we were there and I think only the bins were emptied. Nothing else was cleaned. Towels were only changed because we asked. The tea cups were minute. There was 1 glass and 1 breakfast bowl. Our stay included breakfast but we only had this once due to flies on the food... That said, the staff tried to be helpful and it was in a great location for the venues we were attending. I may stay again but would want one of the upgraded apartments overlooking the pool..

The hotel is not far from the sea. About 10 mins pleasant walk. Breakfasts are ok, not anything special, suppers are tasty. If you haven’t payed for your meal you can pay there and the price is cheaper then having a meal in restaurants, taverns. There are 2 swimming pools, tennis courts, table tennis and other entertainment. Staff is not the friendliest staff in the world, but for that price it’s ok. The room is large and clean. Only soap is provided. So don’t forget shampoos and gels. Child friendly. You can get WiFi only in the reception area.
In general I would recommend to stay in Jacaranda hotel!
Bungalow
The hotel apartment bungalow was very basic,two beds and a settee ,small balcony to sit out on just by the pool .was ok for sleeping in but that’s all we wanted really ,it was self catering with a kettle few plates two hob cooker and toilet shower ,it was mainly Russians there.but the pool was not to busy.plenty of places to eat at resort.and was not in protarus but pernera .cheap buses run to fig tree bay and very cheap and it was only 10 min walk to panera beach was quiet busy but so nice.plus do 2 hour boat trips from there. Looking farward to returning maybe this year 2022 so nice in Cyprus and very friendly people
