What a fabulous hotel! The location is perfect, just 15 minutes walk away from the busier areas, it is so quiet and peaceful.
We booked a four night break for November, the hotel was due to close in a couple of weeks, but this made no difference to the service. Everything was available to us and the service was incredible.
When we arrived, we had been given a free upgrade to a swim-up room. Room 017 really is beautiful, the addition of the swim up and the gorgeous soft sun loungers is fabulous.
The room is spacious with plenty of storage space. The AC was great. The bed is huge and very comfortable. There are bathrobes and slippers provided, along with shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body cream and soap. These are replenished daily along with fresh fluffy towels. A free mini bar - not replenished, but contains 2 cans of KEO beer, 2 cans Coke, a small bottle of red wine, a small bottle of white wine, a bottle of sparkling water.
Two bottles of still water are supplied daily, and hand made chocolates are delivered to the room every evening, they also ask if there is anything else that you need.
The swim up area got the shade by lunchtime so we moved to our allocated sunbeds. These are allocated on day one and are yours for the duration of your stay. You are able to change areas if you want to and there are beds free. Waiter service to the sunbeds is great. Scan the QR code, place your order and it arrives within minutes. Both pools are gorgeous
Food is a buffet style restaurant and there are also four extra places, you can eat in each one of these during your stay. We went to the American Grill and had possibly one of the best rare fillet steaks ever. Breakfast is great, everything that you could want; fruit, yoghurt, cold meats, cheese, breads, pastries, toast, cooked hot food including salmon and various sausage. There's an egg station and the made to order omelettes are amazing. Coffee and tea are delivered to the table.
We didn't have lunch there during our stay
Evening meals in the main buffet are lovely. Probably not as hot as we British are used to, but really not a problem. There are salads, soups, cheeses, a wide selection of main course, usually fish, pork, beef, chicken and vegetarian options too. There are carved meats aswell. So many lovely dessert options too.
Drinks in the bar are moderately priced, as would expect in a hotel of this standard. The apple martini cocktails are great.
The ice cream / coffee shop in the grounds is a lovely added extra. Lots of different flavours of ice cream, waffles, sandwiches and great selection of drinks.
The staff in this hotel are wonderful. From Vangelis who took our luggage when we arrived, to our fablulous cleaner, the amazing bar and catering staff and the receptionists who were always polite and helpful.
An amazing stay, we will certainly return
Loved our stay at this hotel, got upgraded to a sea view room upon arrival, thank you. The room was amazing with great views of the sea even managed to wake up early one day and saw the sunrise. The rooms are very spacious, the bed was so comfy and housekeeping did a fantastic job of keeping it clean. All staff were lovely and very personable. Food was great, not so many fish choices but plenty of other options. I love the fact that you even have the option to eat out at other restaurants as part of half board plan. The weather was exceptional for the beginning of November, the only downside coming this time of year is that Protaras does start to shut down however, there were a few restaurants/ bars open. The hotel allocates you a sunbed which is such a good idea, no early morning panic for a bed. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to returning at some point. We even got a complimentary late checkout on day of departure. Thank you 🙏
We have been to Sunrise Jade 3 times so far and that’s because it’s simply beautiful. All the staff are super friendly and the hotel is spotlessly clean and ever so comfortable. We have stayed in all the room types - swimup room first time, sea view rooms second time and most recently and inland view room. All the rooms are of a high standard. The inland view rooms overlook some villas at the back of the hotel and with there being so many pleasant public areas of the hotel to enjoy the sea view from, we didn’t feel like this was a problem at all.
We really enjoyed the food, and the staff do a great job to cater for so many people. The buffet is of an excellent standard and really clean and hygienic - something I can be fussy about, but I was impressed!
I absolutely love the cats of Cyprus! There are some around the hotel but they just walk on by if you aren’t interested so nothing to worry about there. I’ve seen other reviews but I really didn’t see an issue with them! It’s part of Cyprus culture anyway and they are cute and friendly! :)
The little cove in front of the hotel is lovely for sea swimming and we even spotted some turtles in the morning when it’s quieter!
Thanks Sunrise Jade, I’m sure we will be back for the fourth time :)
We had a fantastic time at the hotel and couldn't fault anything. The food was excellent and plenty of choice. I noticed that there was a section for gluten free and I also heard someone asking for a vegan pancake, which the chef made the mixture especially for her.The staff were very helpful and the rooms were very modern and clean.
The location was perfect and made even better by the turtles swimming in the cove just outside our hotel.I don't know what it is like in the height of the season but for us it was very quiet and relaxing. It is easy to get a bus around Cyprus and you get a full day pass for €5. We took a trip to Ayia Napa one day and that was nice, not too crowded.
It didn't bother us but if you have a phobia or are scared of cats this might not be a location for you. There are lots of them and they do come up to your dining table when you are eating outside. There is an inside eating area also and they don't go in there.
We enjoyed our holiday at The Sunrise Jade, but not sure if it would be a hotel we would return to. We had a land view room, and really pleased we did as we got the sun on the balcony from midday till sunset. The room was clean and well maintained, but didn't have a full length wardrobe or a full length mirror. The hotel has two outdoor pools and one indoor pool. The large outdoor pool doesn't get the sun in the afternoon. The allocation of sun loungers is a good idea, but don't know what it would be like in peak season. We choose beds on the grassed area, thinking we would get more sun, but it was very boggy and there were a lot of flies, maybe something to do with the numerous cats that scratch around. Also the parasols have a small rubbish receptacle attach to them but they were never emptied and the tables never cleaned. The Sage buffet restaurant has themed nights, but as often with buffets the food was often not very hot. The desserts were the same every night, not everyone likes cakes and creamy desserts. Maybe because we were there at the end of the season there wasn't any entertainment in the evening and the bar had no atmosphere. All the staff are very friendly and a credit to the hotel.
