The Ascos Coral Beach Hotel is an excellent 4-star hotel in a delightful situation at Coral Bay near Paphos. With its shingle and rock beach it offers a wide range of guest amenities and well-equipped comfortable accommodation.
The hotel is good one, the staff re very friendly and accommodating. The food is good too with a good variety. Ithe swimming pool is a good size and it's kept clean. It does what it says on the tin. The seaside view is excellent from the room and other areas in the hotel. Dinner service was breath of fresh air the place settings and cushion tables. The little touches that make guests comfortable.
It is a seaside hotel for sure but no easy access to swimming spaces due to huge rocks and pebbles, you have to walk a few feet along to try and step into the sea. But there nearby spaces with easier access so can't really mark them down for it. It's just for awareness if boooking it.
The rooms were clean and waiting staff, bartenders were friendly. Apart from that the experience was one I wouldn’t expect my worst enemy to endure. Majority of reception staff should have signs round their necks saying - approach at your own risk. The food was edible and the kitchen staff did a reasonable job with poor quality. I’m sure there’s a jockey missing its horse is what I thought looking at the meat most nights. If you like salad you’re in heaven as there’s a dozen options every night. Can’t comment on the entertainment staff as there’s wasn’t any at all. Which meant by evening the kids were bored and running around like the Duracell bunny on drugs. The “professional “ entertainment was terrible. Culminating in my wondering if getting the hotel cat to fart in a microphone would be better. I settled for a bath as at least another door was between me and the awful singing. Finally the management for the hotel have penny pinching down to an art. You have to pay a deposit for the remote, ask for a bath plug, only served drinks for all inclusive until 11.45pm when after that you have to pay, don’t advertise the snacks times well and only put enough out to feed 4 anorexics and a child. All in all the management made us feel that they wanted us anywhere but in their hotel. Your wish is my command!!!
2nd visit to the Ascots but sadly our last. The hotel has gone downhill since last summer, lots of safety issues and concerns … dirty and ill fitting bedding … broken glass in public areas and don’t even go there with the evening entertainment (screeching man playing guitar or a questionable singing duo) and a door number which refused to stay on 😂 Some fire safety issues which were not addressed till our last day and although the food selection is varied sadly for us we found eating out easier.
Positive points, the pool is stunning, drinks were flowing and gorgeous sun all day long.
Most things about this hotel were really great, arrived for check in which was swift and pleaswnt. The room already cooled for when we got in which was great as it was really hot, room was clean and spacious only downside the bathroom was a little dated it could do with the bath taking out and a nice bigger shower cubicle. The food was amazing every day with plenty of choice. The poolside had plenty of sunbeds and was a great area to relax the only downside is the dirty days old fag butts everywhere which remained until we left so it was clear the poolsode disnt get cleaned nightly which was unusual for us. Locatiin was great a 5min walk to the bars/restaurants on the strip again only downside to location no near access to the beach. The staff were really nice and friendly throughout the hotel.Overall really good just could be cleaner in areas and a little update required in bathrooms
Here at the moment as had to come out for a funeral we thought great we can do what we have to during the day and just sit in the evening have a drink watch entertainment as husband has a knee injury as well and can not walk distances that suddenly became apparent it wasn’t happening the bar set up seems to be more for all inclusive guests we were just bed n breakfast but found limited choice on what to drink if you didn’t want cocktails,no prices no bar list ordered a pina colada and practically got it threw at me on the bar I had to get napkins to wipe all the glass no apology nothing miserable staff. Entertainment we sat to enjoy was one man singing and playing a guitar which was painful to watch and hear we left after 1 drink. The hotel it’s self is spotlessly clean and room with a side view has a great balcony room is good but tiny tv and no remote then the bathroom just ruins it old bath, mould round the tiles and no sink plug.great location and pool area is good breakfast experience has been very good shame bar and entertainment ruin it.
