The Ascos Beach Hotel is an excellent 4-star hotel in a delightful situation at Coral Bay near Paphos. With its shingle and rock beach it offers a wide range of guest amenities and well-equipped comfortable accommodation.
The hotel is clean and the pool is good but the food is absolute rubbish.
To be honest this is more a 2/3 star and no way a 4 star!!! I probably wouldn’t feed my dog the food that they provide on all inclusive.
The breakfast is ok but everything else is disgusting...
I had big problems on the first week as my partner is dairy intolerant and they cook everything in butter (even the vegetables) and did not label any of the food dairy which made my partner Ill for days.
The other problem is that they are so short on staff that I spent most of my holiday queuing up at the bar as they only have one person on the bar during the day with no waiters/waitresses and 2 people working behind the bar in the evening so you can imagine the chaos.
The 3rd problem is the entertainment or lack of entertainment. They play one game of bingo every night and then do karaoke for about 40 mins and that is it for the whole evening. I have ended up going out for lunch and dinner every day at my own expense and then going out to town for drinks as I couldn’t handle another night stuck in listening to that boring rubbish excuse for entertainment. Unfortunately they have really let themselves down and the management do not seem interested in fixing the situation.
So bottom line if you just want a room to sleep in it is ok but please don’t waste your money going all inclusive!!!
have stayed here before and found it to be a very nice relaxed setting. However, this holiday has been spoilt by rude pool bar man ( who opens bar and takes breaks when he fancies and pours shots and cocktails in rows on the bar for greedy ignorant people from Eastern European) and customers not adhering to covid restrictions/rules. In particular the customers from Eastern European country beginning with an R (are bad mannered, arrogant and greedy...
The rules are there to protect each other. I think the management need to be more strict and make people wear the masks where they have to. Also sunbed use is an issue, most beds are covered in towels before 8am but nobody sat on them until lunch or after. In over 20 years of travelling abroad I've never met such a unanimated animation team. When people ask for some games they said no cos of covid. So why are they employed. I think more staff are required to help customers enjoy their stay. The waiting on staff, Cleaners and reception seen very good. All in all our stay has been aittle disappointing not the same standard of previous years here.
Please do not reply dire
Just returned after 10 days here. 2 stars simply down to pool & weather! Below is the holiday write up for hotel from the travel agents -
There are two themed restaurants - serving a different international cuisine every night as well as traditional Mediterranean dishes:
One restaurant for breakfast & lunch mediocre at best.
Another restaurant for evening meal. Not bad MOST nights.
All waiters & waitresses couldn’t do enough clearing tables and taking drinks orders etc.
There are also two bars offering guests a great selection of cocktails, beers, wines and snacks::
Hmm lol, one pool side bar 10-6 - staff are over worked and can hardly muster a smile or convo...
The main guy on here kinda grunts at you for your order!
Taking a wander around your hotel and you’ll find a great selection of restaurants catering to tastes around the world. Fresh sushi can be had at Samisen Japanese Restaurant, Ocean Basket is the place to go for fresh Mediterranean seafood, whilst if it’s Italian dishes you’re looking for then head to Trattoria La Vigna. Those who want to party the night away should head to Kleo’s Cocktail Bar & Night Club:
No idea what this is all about. Not part of hotel at all. No other restaurants so these must be on strip. Kelo’s is so not part of hotel but nice little bar!
All in all never been a 4 star 2 at best.
Carpets very dirty on all floors and mostly except food service rude, staff. The older lady on reception mornings to afternoon a waste of time. All she ever says is come back check tomorrow. Young lad and young lady much more helpful on evenings well done you! Oh also room cleaners do a very a good job.
Entertainment hardly worth mentioning, terrible Bingo (77 James Bond & his brother 😂) terrible quiz and some karaoke. Thank god 4 year old so never there for hotels entertainment.
Tiles missing stacked up around indoor pool. BUT most disappointing based on why we booked is the very misleading picture of hotel rooms. They look fantastic on the travel agents sites but bathroom very outdated and rooms have had a mediocre overall.
Thank god for the weather and pool! Must be much better hotels in the area.
Not a 4 star hotel. 1 star is more than enought. Covid 19 regulations does not exists...
Is like there is no pandemic. Very dirty hotel. Aircondition not working. All the carpets in the hotel corridors dirty. Ants in the room. Walls with moisture. No ac at the reception and restaurant. Swimming pools 2.65 meters depth. No lifeguard on duty. All the plastics around the pool were broken. Breakfast very poor. Food was like it was cooked 2 days ago. Disappointed. Awful experience. Never again.
Hotel is nice with great view and sunsets etc rooms are decent and clean. I would recommend this hotel however. I checked into 2 dirty rooms that were not ready before I finally got my clean room...
It also makes me wonder what the hotels covid guidelines are as 99% of the staff and visitors were without masks. Not even on their chin. I was not asked for a safepass upon checking in.
