Reasonable

Review by stuartfaedunfyEllon, United Kingdom

Contrary to some other reviews, I have to say there was little wrong with our room-no damp and no smell :) yes it was relatively old fashioned but as really only showering and sleeping in it was fine. Sheets clean on arrival and changed during week, towels every other day. Not sure how often floor cleaned though as normally sandy but just wore flip flops anyway...

Reception rarely mnned later in day and bar does close early but quiet wee street and not to far to the myriad of restaurants available within 10/15minutes walking. A reasonable place for the money paid. The staff even helped me jump start hire car that had flat battery, very kind

Drastic change needed

Review by timsB8123QSGiltbrook, United Kingdom

We arrived late after a disastrous start to our holiday, thinking things can only get better, how wrong were we!! One bedroom apartment was massive, 2 balconies, impressed with the size but everything else is terrible.. We were too tired to complain straight away and when we finally decided to we witnessed how rude the staff were to other guests and just couldn't be bothered with the hassle so we grinned and beared it. We encountered ants, mosquito nests, dangerous faulty switches, rusty cooking appliances, we don't believe our bed was changed during the week as the same mark on the sheet was still there, the apartment was generally unclean, skirting filthy, cobwebs full of ants behind the fridge, dirty bathroom, mouldy smelling wardrobe, rusty dirty hinges on cupboards. Air Con units fithy and rusty, lights not working in 2 rooms. Outside of the room the stair rail is also unsafe, as we discovered when we had a power cut, had to use the stairs with my partner who is slightly disabled as the lift was out of action, as she went to use the rail for support it rocked back and forth causing her to lose grip and fall, thankfully she wasn't hurt and the lady at reception came to see if we were ok,but it is very dangerous. The reception is a joke, not properly manned after 4 o clock, the bar restaurant is another joke, closed nearly every night before 8pm couldn't even get a drink on the way for a night out, had to get the hotel across from us to ring taxis for us as no one available in our reception. All in all a terrible place in need of a face-lift in more ways than one, location is great and that's all, thankfully this wasn't my first visit to Greece, because had it been i would not be returning ever again! It is not the case you get what you pay for because we certainly didnt get what we paid for...

The Olgas Hotel

Review by Sue CGateshead, United Kingdom

Just back from a weeks self catering at The Olgas. There were 6 of us and had 3 rooms. 2 rooms were damp smelly and foisty...

The 3rd room wasn't great. But possibly not as foisty and smelly as the others. The magazines and newspapers were damp from the moisture. The sugar was kept in the fridge to keep it dry. The smell when you came back from a day out hit you in the face. The shower above the bath is in the middle of the wall???? Making showering difficult. There was no room to move. Outside the rooms on the balcony and outside the room door Were bushes a haven for mosquitos. I understand they can't be avoided but don't give them somewhere to breed. Our first day there were ants all over the balcony. They gave me a can of fly spray with very little in it. When I had used that and asked for more. I was told I could go and buy some. I told them that wasn't my responsibility but had to in the end as none was forthcoming and the ants started to appear in the room. The first morning there the bar man at the pool bar wasn't very nice. So we never ate there again. Will,we be back? I think that's a definite no!!!!!
