- Anissaras
Anissaras is a low-profile resort located on Crete’s stunning North Coast. It is the perfect resort if you are looking for plenty of peace and quiet, but with easy access to larger and livelier resorts such as Hersonissos, reachable in just under a 10-minute drive or Malia in just 20-minutes.
The sandy beaches and rocky coves dotted across the coastline are perfect for those days of just lazing in the sun or for a spot of snorkelling and other water sports such as kayaking and paddle-boarding. The most popular beach is Sarandaris, a sandy beach perfect for families, couples, and solo travellers, with sunbeds to rent and a small beach bar for refreshments. However, it is only accessible by stairs down the cliff, but do not worry, there are plenty of other beaches to choose from that are more accessible such as Analipsi Beach, a relaxed beach backed with palms trees and water sports on offer, or Aposelemi Beach, a sandy beach with sun loungers and umbrellas available.
Most dining options are found within hotels and beach bars. If you are looking for a wider range of dining choices then the nearby resorts of Hersonissos or Malia are the places to go, where you can enjoy a plentiful and wide range of restaurants, tavernas, and bars.
