Sea Side living up to expectations

Review by RebeccaD1630

This hotel is stunning, the location , service and appearance all tick the boxes! I had recommended this to clients previously and had high expectations which they delivered on! Despite covid our party of 12 people were accommodated for at every point of contact. Having read reviews of influencers being treated differently I didn’t see this at all so don’t let this put you off. The hotel was at full capacity however the service at restaurants, bars , reception all maintained to the highest level...

The food was excellent in all restaurants, the main buffet was excellent and never disappointed. We had a superior sea view room which gave us an amazing view over the coastline. With the location being on the peninsula you benefit from a breeze which was lovely. My only criticism would be the evening entertainment was impacted by the local lockdown so music was not played as much in the evening, we would of liked more but appreciate that this was out of the hotel control. Mentioning some staff that stood out - Alex in guest relations such a lovely lady, Lily and Alex on the entertainment team really accommodating to our older teenagers, and of course Jannis the general manager who checked on us most days!

Thank you for a wonderful stay - highly recommend the beautiful hotel!

Gym review

Nikitas killed us with his Functional Fitness class, but it felt amazing in the cold pool afterwards. Definitely recommend.

The yoga classes with Jenni are also brilliant. Vinyasa flow and sunset yoga well worth it.

Incredible Service

Review by Louise P

Just back from our stay at Seaside Resort & Spa where our stay didn’t go quite to plan. Following some mild symptoms within a few days of arrival, my husband tested positive for Covid - the hotel management were absolutely amazing; pending the authorities intervening, they ensured my husband was able to quarantine safely and the children and I were able to isolate separately. We were provided with no end of food and drink and regularly checked upon...

Once my husband was transferred to a (horrid) quarantine hotel, the management truly stepped up in looking after me and our three children. Not required to isolate (for a number of reasons) we were upgraded to a suite which truly put a smile back on our children’s faces and meant we could enjoy what was left of our much looked forward to break (sadly without my husband) Every day the Service Manager in the restaurant asked after my husband, the manager and duty manager regularly checking in on how we all were.

The service throughout our ‘experience’ was truly outstanding. The food was excellent with the self service buffet the best I’ve experienced with a range to cater for all tastes (including our fussy children’s) The views from the hotel are spectacular and the suite we were upgraded to was out of this world.

I can’t thank the management and staff of Seaside Resort & Spa enough for all that the my did for us. I hope we can come back soon to experience your hospitality with my husband.

Very nice hotel, secluded area, not for beach lovers though

Review by rocking_pony Poland

It's a very nice hotel which seems to be fully renovated. Located on a cliff, far away from cities, touristy places and main roads. We liked it but as it's a really expensive place, our expectation were high and the hotel didn't meet them all - hence 4 points, not 5...

Here are some pros and cons:

  • Beautiful, spectacular views.
  • Clean and tidy.
  • Excellent food in the main buffet restaurant (all inclusive) - variety of meat, fish and veggies, fantastic desserts. Everything was fresh, tasty and looked really good :)
  • Inexpensive car rental on spot.
  • Good alcoholic drinks in bars.
  • Not really suited for children or big families so for us it was perfect.

  • Unstable wi-fi connetion.
  • Booked sea view room, got only partial sea view. Not worth paying extra.
  • Rooms rather basic, definitely not 5*. Clean but starting to look a bit shabby (stains on walls, chipped floor tiles etc.).
  • There are 3 a la carte restaurants that you can access for free once per 7 days - and they aren't worth a bother. Two of them serve almost same food as the main buffet but limited choice and the service takes ages. Only Asian restaurant offers some interesting options - the Beijing duck was good.
  • Not enough sunbeds - people "book" them placing towels on them early in the morning (even if they don't use them for the whole day!) so when you come to the pool at 10:00 am there probably won't be any free spot for you. It's something you would expect in cheap 3* hotels, not a 5* resort. The staff do nothing about it, they simply don't care.
  • Not enough shaded areas, like umbrellas or canopies. During hot summer months it's a real pain.
  • LOUD parties till midnight by the pool (I wished we had known it, we would have booked a different room).

One more thing. The nearest beach is accessible by stairs and it's very, very small, cramped and it has nothing to do with beautiful lagoon beaches available in Crete. If you are looking for a beach holidays, please book somewhere else.

Bad attention gor the guests

Review by maxlombardo73 Bergamo, Italy

The overall fair/ poor rate is due to the bad treatment happened on August 12th with Mrs. Maria, the lady of the guest services. We asked for a car rental EXPRESSLY asked for a full insurance rental...

She made all the reservations ensuring that we should be covered for everything except for drunk driving and mountain road driving. We had a little accident in a private parking, evrything filmed by the surveillance CCTV, and we discovered that we only had the basic coverage. I, my wife, the car rental owner, his employee and Maria discussed for almost 1 hour for this increcious situation. Maria tried to make precarious excuses “I told that you should not be covered in parking”, “no car insurance make complete coverage”, and other lies like these. At the end, cornered with her poor excuses, she said to me in ugly manner “Sir you are not in a bazar” while I was making a deal with the car rental owner who understood my good intentions and her fault when she booked the car. I won’t come back again, it is not for the 120€ we agreed to pay for closing the incident but because I think that a resort like Sea Side (5stars) should place at the very first place the full satisfaction and care of the guest, guest who don’t like to save money to have full assistance when on holiday nor having these bad situation for the hote fault. PS: I did not see any receipt for the 25€ paid to Mrs. Maria when I booked the car.
