This charming resort hotel is set right next to a gorgeous sandy beach in the tiny resort town of Kokkini Hani, halfway between Heraklion and the larger resort town of Chersonissos. The hotel features 441 air-conditioned guest rooms, family rooms and bungalows with warm, cheerful décor, en suite marble bathrooms, mini bar, and satellite television. Guests can wake up to a satisfying breakfast buffet in the main restaurant and dine in the Chinese restaurant, and can find tasty treats and refreshing drinks throughout the day at the café, traditional tavern, and five hotel bars. The hotel also offers an extensive range of facilities and services to meet the needs of even the most discerning guests, including six swimming pools with two waterslides, a kid's club and playground, sports facilities and wellness centre, a wholly luxurious spa centre, and bilingual staff providing 24-hour reception, babysitting services, and an on-call doctor, among other services.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
Amazing hotel kids loved it and huge thankyou to Christina at the pool bar she made our holiday!!!
Just returned from a week here in a family room with outside terrace. Positives- Lovely hotel, clean, nice grounds. Staff are excellent and service good. Close to airport Everything kids could want Splash pool Amazing, slides brilliant. Beach lovely. Snack places- pizza, chips, waffles, crepes, watermelon all good as well as bars Spa was excellent Accommodation for dietary requirements was very good. Negatives- The food- à la carte & buffet were not great- in fact very poor. This would prevent us returning. Buffet restaurant looked like an old peoples’ home. Sun beds- get them by 8am but be on them or towels will be removed (a good thing!) We didn’t have a swim up room- these were so much better! No room if you have a late flight- we eventually used a room for 30 minutes to shower and change.
We didn’t see any of the entertainment- not our thing. Had music each night in the bar area which was good. Hotel was fully booked (as you’d expect in summer) We have been to other Mitsis and this was not as good in most respects so doubt we’ll try another.
A cheap, poorly managed hotel hiding behind deceptive 5-star marketing We booked a premium 5-star holiday package for a family of three (two adults and a 3-year-old child) for a birthday celebration, expecting a luxury experience. Instead, we felt completely scammed and massively overpaid. While the grounds are generally clean and well-maintained, the management, service, and dining are an absolute disaster. This property barely meets the standard of an average 4-star hotel. Here are the critical reasons why you should avoid this resort:
My 3-year-old son, who cannot swim, slipped into a deeper area of the pool and began struggling. Despite my loud verbal warnings and the fact that I had to jump into the water fully clothed to rescue my coughing child myself, the on-duty lifeguard completely failed to react. He only walked over after the rescue to casually ask if everything was "okay." This is completely unacceptable for a family resort. 2. Hostile Guest Relations & Broken Policies The sunbed management on the beach is chaotic. After moving immediately to avoid conflict when another guest claimed an open umbrella, the staff and a Guest Relations manager chose to lecture me about their contradictory rules instead of apologizing for the confusion. The staff is poorly trained, defensive, and completely lacks a basic customer-oriented approach. 3. Substandard Dining & Extreme Cost-Cutting The food quality is a catastrophe. We were charged a full adult rate for our 3-year-old son, yet the main buffet was a daily guessing game of oversalted dishes, tasteless vegetables, and slimy fish.
Fresh juices and smoothies are restricted to breakfast hours only. The rest of the day, guests are forced to drink cheap box juices. The bars are stocked with the most basic commercial brands and the cocktails are mixed incredibly poorly. The overall baseline of service was so disappointing that I even skipped my traditional birthday visit to the hotel spa, realizing it wasn't worth risking further frustration and paying for another disappointment. This hotel relies heavily on deceptive marketing to sell an illusion of luxury. We paid a substantial amount of money but left completely dissatisfied and disrespected. Save your money and book elsewhere.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hub 17 was one of the best parts of our holiday! 😎 We had such a great time here — gaming, hanging out, laughing and just having fun.
Rafail and Vikos are absolute legends! 🔥 They’re super friendly, funny and always made the atmosphere really cool. We spent a lot of time together and honestly didn’t want to leave.
Thanks for all the fun and good vibes! We’ll definitely miss you guys. ❤️ Hub 17 = 10/10! 🎮🔥

We have come as a family of 10. We have been to many All inclusive holidays, but this one has been the best so far. Plus the location is perfect- not too far from the airport- close to a super sandy beach. The staff right from the front desk to cleaners to bar staff, buffet attendants to pool attendants - all get 100/100. Very polite and welcoming and happy to help. I cannot faulter anyone or anything. The HUB17 was a different experience for all of us— Mitsis Rinela has catered for all age groups. The slides for children, baby pool, big pool- all super and very clean. The shows were good and the live music was good. The DJ was fantastic. To top it up presents for little ones and adults a too plus the beach bag— all I can say is we had a brilliant time- going back relaxed.
