We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel and would definitely recommend it. The hotel itself was very nice, but what really made the experience stand out was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. A special thank you to Evi, who was always welcoming, kind, and happy to help with anything we needed. We also had massages from Alexander and Eleni, which we really enjoyed. They were a bit on the pricey side, but absolutely worth it. Another big plus was the food: both breakfast and dinner always included vegan options, and these were clearly labelled, which we really appreciated. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and felt very well looked after.
Absolutely stunning hotel with fantastic amenities, lovely staff and incredible views. We only had breakfast but the options were plentiful and it was all very fresh. The hotel is only a mile from Malia and half a mile to Stalida so perfect for either. The room we had was on the beach front and was absolutely beautiful, with plenty of room and great aircon, well worth an upgrade! The pool entertainment staff - Lucas, Cora, Vanessa all work so hard and create a lovely atmosphere around the pool during the day with games and music. The spa staff are lovely, I had a wonderful massage by Maria. Can't recommend this hotel enough!
I had the great fortune to stay here for a week with my friend, who had been here 4 times prior to this . It was so beautifully laid out along the beach it had 3 pools ? Several restaurants, a spa and a gym . We were upgraded to a junior suite with such a beautiful view of the beach . The room was lovely , very spacious and very clean . The staff were all so lovely .And nothing was top much trouble. A special shout out to Socrates the barman in the pool bar , he was hilarious and great fun . The food was amazing in the Asian fusion restaurant and Maria was lovely . She remembered my friend from her previous stays and greeted her warmly. They even had a Cat Cafe where the guests could feed the local cats , which really meant a lot to me as I love cats. Everything was perfect. The only small downside was the channels on the TV..they were all in German The majority of people that stay there are German, they were all very quiet and pleasant, but it would have been nice to have a couple of English channels for when we got back to our room in the evening.
The Alexander Beach Hotel is an outstanding hotel with very much to recommend it. We had a first floor comfort room with sea view which was indeed extremely comfortable and well appointed, and the view across the bay from our balcony was stunning. In fact, the whole resort which we understand is intended to have the feel of a Cretan village is well laid out and very attractive in design with colourful gardens and green spaces, multiple swimming pools and access to the resort’s well maintained sandy beach. The quality of the food in the main restaurant was excellent with a wide range of options at breakfast and dinner and for someone who does not eat meat I never had a problem in filling my plate! Having stopped for 10 days we got the impression that the diverse choice at dinner perhaps rotated every 7 days so there was certainly no food boredom! Added to this were three specialty restaurants – Mediterranean, Italian and Asian. We ate once in the Asian restaurant, a memorably good evening. Finally, the hotel staff whether at reception, in the restaurant, in a bar or making up our room were always courteous, friendly and efficient. Absolutely no complaints. They all served us very well!
However, if we do have a disappointment, it is that there was no lift: and for those like us for whom staircases are becoming an issue it was a bit of a problem. From our room on the first floor, there was a flight of stairs down to the ground floor where reception, the main restaurant, lounges and a bar were located, another flight of stairs down to the gym, spa and WCs, and also to the Mediterranean restaurant, swimming pools and sunbathing area, and finally another flight of stairs (or was it two) down to the beach. My wife never got to the beach! There were some short ramps and I was told that wheelchairs were available, but even with one of them I believe access to certain parts of the hotel may have been at least difficult if not restricted.
Forgetting this issue, we had a wonderful holiday, but regrettably without a lift we would certainly think twice about going back to this beautiful hotel again.
Beautiful Hotel which is so well kept indeed. The views of the sea are amazing especially when the Sun goes down. Food is exceptionally good for a Greek Hotel. The Service is impeccable. We had some issues with the House Keeper and our room, however it was put right immediately. So for that reason this Hotel is a 5 score. Plenty of bars and restaurants in the area too. Thankyou for a wonderful Holiday
