I would like to share our experience at Aegean Pearl: We had a truly successful stay, I’d say, even though the beginning made me think I’d made the wrong choice. Why? Because we arrived around 6:30 PM—a time when the room should have been ready and waiting for us—only to be told that, "unfortunately, your room isn't available..." What? Yes, we ended up with a room designated for guests with disabilities... and that was for two nights. So, we couldn't unpack or really enjoy our vacation. Disappointed, we accepted the situation; after all, we were on holiday and didn't want to get into an argument that likely wouldn't yield a favorable outcome. We went to the assigned room and resigned ourselves to keeping our luggage packed and accepting two wasted days. Fortunately, this situation only lasted until the next day when—lo and behold—our actual room became available! Now the vacation could really begin. We were given a quiet room with a partial sea view, plus a nice little touch from the hotel: a small bottle of wine and a fruit basket—very thoughtful! Overall, the experience at the hotel was quite pleasant; the food was good, fresh, and high-quality. Of course, it depends on whether you're there for the vacation itself or just to eat, but for us, it was excellent. One downside: the coffee provided in the room was never replenished. Housekeeping was done daily; bed linens and towels were changed every day as well. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable. Another plus was the attentiveness shown to guests like us who had a late flight; we were able to stay at the beach until late, and were then provided with clean towels and the chance to shower and change. However, there was one downside: since our flight was at 12:20 AM—very late—they could have allowed us to have dinner as well; I doubt the portions were strictly rationed, and, as I said, we didn't come here looking to pack on extra weight... All in all, it was a successful stay—provided you aren't looking to nitpick—and I would certainly like to return someday.
The staff are incredibly professional, friendly, and welcoming, making sure you feel comfortable and relaxed throughout your visit. I had both a full-body massage and, later, a massage focused on my back and shoulders, followed by a facial treatment. Olga with her team Alina and Tania are truly excellent at what they do, and I highly recommend everyone to visit their salon. ☺️ My and my friends will definitely love to come back to Melody Spa✨
Second time that we’ve stayed in Rethymno, the previous time was at the sister hotel, Pearl Beach. The Aegean Pearl is definitely a step up. Room was suitable for a family of three which included a 16 year old. Open bathroom was interesting but we made it work. Staff are very polite in all areas and is the big plus of the hotel along with the beach front and private beach. Only slight criticism is that the main pool for the Aegean Pearl doesn’t have enough sun loungers for the guests however there is another pool at the rear of the hotel that is a lot quieter and has more space. I would definitely recommend and I’m sure we’ll return.
The room you gave me for 3 people is very small and not suitable at all, the bathroom is open space and not suitable for a family with a 14 year old child, I do not recommend this type of room, the coffee in the room from the espresso machine is extra (embarrassing for a 5 star hotel), the air conditioning works when it wants to, the pools are overcrowded, the food is about ok and the attitude of the employees is pathetic!!!! I do not recommend this hotel plus it is overpriced for what it offers.
Lovely hotel situated across the road from a beautiful beach. It's situated about one mile walk along the promenade from rethymno town. If that is too far there is a taxi rank a few yards from the hotel entrance. The hotel staff were friendly and very welcoming.Nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was varied and plentiful. No need to eat the same meal everyday. The staff were extra helpful and a special mention for Popi who looked after us very well.
