The hotel is located by the beach and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It is 2 km from the town centre of Rethymnon, which is located on the Greek island of Crete.
This hotel is built in modern Greek style and features a TV lounge, children's playground, bar, restaurant, conference facilities, Internet access and a car park.
All rooms are equipped with telephone, satellite TV, radio, hairdryer, safety deposit box, fridge, bath/shower and WC. Individually regulated air conditioning (June-October for minimum 12 hours daily) and heating are provided and the rooms are also furnished with a balcony and a clothes rack.
The hotel has two outdoor swimming pools with a separate children's swimming area and a poolside snack bar. Guests may also relax on the sun terrace under the parasols on sun loungers. The hotel offers several other recreational facilities, including a gym, hot tub, sauna, steam room, massage and spa treatments.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
An absolutely amazing vacation as always. Clean and nice rooms, quiet. A friendly atmosphere and very helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is located near the beach. And excelent and varied diet. This was already our second visit to this hotel. And oncec again very pleasant, wonderful and fabulous. We'd love to come back again. The big thank you to all the staff who ensure the hotel runs smoothly.
I am genuinely surprised that Pearl Beach has such good reviews and is officially rated as a 4-star hotel. Based on our experience, I would personally consider it a 2-star hotel at best.
The rooms are extremely outdated, with very old furniture that looks like it has not been renovated in many years. The “double bed” was actually two single beds pushed together, which is not what I expect when booking a double room in a 4-star hotel.
The mattresses were also very worn out and uncomfortable, and we slept very poorly throughout our stay.
Another major issue was the shower. It was almost impossible to maintain a stable water temperature. No matter how you adjusted it, the water would suddenly become extremely hot or freezing cold, making something as basic as taking a shower unnecessarily unpleasant.
The soundproofing is basically non-existent. You can hear absolutely everything: people walking and talking in the hallway, noise coming from the restaurant area, and sounds from the swimming pool. If you are expecting a quiet and relaxing hotel room, this is definitely not the place.
There was, however, one positive aspect worth mentioning: the breakfast was good and offered a wide variety of choices.
What made the whole experience even stranger was what happened on our first day.
When we arrived, we were told that they had “a problem” and could not accommodate us at Pearl Beach that night. No proper explanation was given. Instead, we were sent to Pearl Beach Breeze Suites, which is supposedly only a 3-star hotel.
Ironically, Pearl Beach Breeze Suites was significantly better than the 4-star Pearl Beach. The room had modern furniture, an espresso machine and even a private jacuzzi, and the overall standard was clearly superior. After seeing the difference between the two properties, moving from the supposedly 3-star Breeze Suites to the supposedly 4-star Pearl Beach actually felt like a major downgrade.
I simply cannot understand how Pearl Beach can be classified as a 4-star hotel in its current condition, nor how it has managed to receive so many positive reviews.
Based on our stay, I would not recommend Pearl Beach and I would certainly not choose to stay here again.
I will also attach photos of the room and interior so that other travellers can see the actual condition of the hotel and decide for themselves.
July - August 2026 for a family wedding.
Reasonable location - on main road so can be a bit noisy at times but beach opposite. Corporate like atmosphere - business like & professional. Staff very helpful. Rooms what one would expect for a 4*. Very clean, towels changed daily. I'd say a tad overpriced & didn't find out until arrived that I was required to pay an additional €150 (€15 per night) on check-out for a taxi of some description. This information really should be included either on website or by travel agent so one can factor in when costing. Would I stay here again .... not sure
The flor was scratch but everything else is good
We hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly. The food was excellent we will definitely return but not in July as it was too hot for us.
