This establishment is nestled on the southern part of the beautiful island of Kos and ideally located on the beachfront. The small yet popular village of Kardamena, which is within 10 minutes' walking distance or is a short drive from the hotel, offers a variety of shopping, local restaurants and unparalleled nightlife. Kos Airport is approximately 7 km away. This charming beach hotel is a wonderful blend of comfort and style, defined by inspired, vibrant design and gracious hospitality. All smartly appointed hotel rooms are covered in the warmth of earth colours while the glass enclosed bathrooms create a playful atmosphere in the space. A furnished balcony or terrace is available in all guest rooms.
Food really good. Great location by the sea and lots of facilities. A great spa inside the hotel followed by a great massage from Daisy.
Just returned from a wonderful holiday. Went with our 16 year old daughter and we all loved it from the minute we arrived. We got there at 11pm but we still managed to get some drinks in with no problem at all. We loved the golf buggy on arrival and were right at the top of the steps 76 of them! But buggies are available. We loved the relaxing feel of the pools where we were and the infinity pool was the best which overlooked the beautiful small beach and cove this is where they had activities every day. You can collect fresh towels every day from the spa and never struggled to get a bed . Loved the sandwiches and pizza pasta station. Loved Kardamena and the crossroads pub. Will definitely be returning.
Had a lovely relaxing spa treatment with silva. Top class. So relaxing from the moment we walked in. Thank you.
I'll start by saying the Atlantica Mikri Poli Kos is a very pretty hotel, placed right on the beach of the crystal clear Aegean. The staff keep the grounds incredibly clean and bar the odd exception very friendly.
The food is about what you'd expect from an all inclusive, parts are repetitive but there's new stuff each day, the quality is good and theres always plenty of options available.
Ther drinks are clearly the cheapest available but they very cleverly display all of their premium drinks on the bar to lure you into buying a bottle of beer when you've gone off the cheap stuff.
There are plenty of sunbeds around the pools and on the beach, as long as you're arriving before 11am you shouldn't have any issues getting a group together. The staff remove any towels 'marking' beds before 10am, the pools are on the cooler side, even in high summer, but you get used to it quickly, I imagine they'd be incredibly cold in Spring or Autumn.
Now for some of the cons, A word of warning, this hotel is very hilly, we were on the top level, I'm a fit guy and I was out of breathe reaching the top, there are buggies at reception to drive around but there's usually a wait for them.
Reception, for the most part we found incredibly unhelpful, run of the mill stuff sure they're friendly and help out, anything else you very much get the feel 'not our problem' some examples, arranging a taxi "it'll come when it comes" no other guidance, the pool tables had no chalk "they're not our tables", we bought a bottle of wine at the greek restaurant, came back to our room at 11:30 to a note from reception "please come to reception at your earliest convinience" it sounded urgent only to find out they wanted us to pay immediately, not on check out like any normal hotel.
their 'superior' room, sold to families with teens, a rickety see through divider wall, my teenage daughter didn't like changing in her 'room' because we could see through it. There are also no plugs or even lights in her part of the room, not to mention that the 'bed' is a couch, not even a pull out sofa bed, a literal couch with a sheet on it. We later found that the standard rooms have a pull out sofa bed, just without the divider, and most other rooms have sea views, bar the superior room, so all in all, don't waste your money on that downgrade.
we specifically requested an accesible room for my father in law, it was on the second row (either stairs, or a 400m roundabout walk uphill), then, more stairs to get into the room, if he were in a wheelchair he would not have been able to access the 'accessible room'.
The entertainment team, they deserve a space in the pro's and con's, they're lovely people, hard working and put on good shows in the evening, they're also great with kids between 4-9, lots of activities and fun for them. However, if you have tweens and teens, despite what the travel site says, there is not much for them, all the activities they put on are empty, there's no advertisement that they're there, nobody goes to them, my daughter attended 3, all empty.
Side bar, the gym (if it appeals to you) be careful, i've been to many bad hotel gyms, this one is on another level, old equipment, rusted, barely maintained, at times dangerous, i had the bench collapse on me, the shoulder press ceases, the lat pull down snap, it was an adventure for sure, but dangerous.
All in all, i did enjoy myself there, it's clean, pretty, good food and a lovely atmosphere, it's amazing if you have a young family, less so for teens, however, there are cons to be aware of and i will be reporting them to Tui as i feel we were missold, and i will repeat, the hills are not for the feint hearted!
First ever treatment, so wasn't sure what to expect, but was great think i even fell asleep,
