Amada Colossos Resort

We are on the final day of a wonderful 11-night stay at Amada Colossos Resort and cannot speak highly enough of both the hotel and its staff.

Before our arrival, I contacted the hotel because I am disabled and had some concerns about whether my accessibility needs could be accommodated. The communication from the Reservations, Operations and Guest Relations teams was exceptional—warm, prompt, reassuring and genuinely caring. They made practical arrangements for me throughout our stay, including ensuring that suitable sunbeds were available, which removed a huge source of worry and allowed me to enjoy the holiday alongside my family. Nothing felt like too much trouble, and their kindness made an enormous difference to our experience.

Our rooms were spacious and exceptionally clean, with two double wardrobes, plenty of drawer space and ample room to unpack properly. The shower pressure was excellent, with plenty of hot water available whenever we needed it.

The buffet restaurant offered a fantastic choice at every meal. There was always something available to suit everyone, including our fussy teenagers—which is quite an achievement! The food was regularly replenished and there was plenty of variety throughout our stay.

There were also lots of daytime food options. The waterpark snack bar served pizza, while the beach snack bar offered gyros, nuggets, chips, hot dogs, sandwiches, salads and freshly made crêpes. The crêpes with lemon and sugar were absolutely perfect!

We tried the à la carte restaurants and thought they were all fabulous, particularly the Asian and Italian restaurants. The hotel also helped us celebrate my husband’s birthday by arranging a lovely cake at the Italian restaurant, and the staff came out singing to him. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the evening feel incredibly special.

The beach is beautiful, with a mixture of sand and small shingle, and the sea was wonderfully warm. As we were travelling with older teenagers, we spent most of our pool time around the adult pool. Even at the height of the season, it never felt excessively busy.

The swim-up bar was a real highlight, serving iced coffees alongside alcoholic and soft drinks. Special praise must go to the lead barman, for whom nothing was ever too much trouble. He made perfect cocktails, introduced us to delicious drinks we had never tried before—including melon daiquiris—and always provided proper service with a smile, even when there was a queue.

What really sets this hotel apart is its staff. From the excellent communication before we arrived to the care shown throughout our stay, we felt genuinely welcomed and looked after. The team did everything possible to ensure that my disability did not prevent me from enjoying the resort with my family, and that meant more to us than I can adequately express.

Thank you to everyone at Amada Colossos for making our family holiday so relaxing, enjoyable and memorable. We would happily recommend the resort and would love to return.

10/10 holiday, everything you need in one place. Staff were exceptional, sheets changed when you asked, new towels everyday! Room/ hotel was super clean. Different themed food every night in the buffet, we also tried the Italian restaurant which the food and service was also amazing! If you’re looking to just relax and chill and treat yourself to a nice 5 star hotel then this is definitely the one! So nice having the beach on your door step too!

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at this hotel in late August. The weather was perfect, and the pool water was nice and warm. For this time of the year, the hotel felt well-managed in terms of guest capacity—we didn't experience long queues or crowd issues.

Location: The location is great, situated close to Rhodes Town next to a pebble and sand beach. I didn't use public transport, but taxis arrived within just 5 minutes of being called. We had a lovely sea view. From our room, we barely heard any street noise, except for the occasional very loud vehicle. Right next to the hotel, there are water sports facilities, including boats and jet skis.

Rooms & Cleanliness: Our room was clean, fresh, and well-maintained, with effective air conditioning. However, there were a couple of drawbacks:

• The "all-inclusive minibar" consisted only of water in the fridge, which was disappointing.
• Our friends’ room had a damaged window that didn't seal properly. As a result, they were severely bothered by occasional traffic noise and the daily concerts from the amphitheater.

Staff & Service: The staff was very friendly, polite, and always willing to help, even if they weren't able to solve every issue completely.

Food & Dining: The food was delicious, high-quality, and surprisingly varied—it definitely exceeded my expectations! The restaurant staff was also attentive and provided great service.

Pools, Beach & Facilities:

• Pools & Waterpark: The pools are spacious enough for everyone, and the on-site Waterpark is superb.
• Bars: There are plenty of bars open throughout most of the day.
• Sunbeds: Unfortunately, guests reserve sunbeds with towels despite clear signs prohibiting this practice, making it difficult to find a free spot by noon.
• Kids Club: The Kids Club requires booking in advance via an app—you cannot just drop in when your child feels like playing, nor can parents stay inside with them. That said, once we booked a slot, our kids really enjoyed it.
• Beach: You can rent a beachfront gazebo for €110 for the whole day, which is a nice feature. However, the extra service package for it costs €55 per person, which felt a bit steep (luckily, a regular bar is close by anyway).
• Other: Please note that the hotel does not provide irons for room hire.

Despite a few minor flaws, it was a great holiday, and I would recommend this hotel!
