Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We have a garden room , with the smallest balcony , railing coming lose . The food is much the same every night . The drinks are topped up with some cheap syrup. The main pool all beds gone by 6am . The sea is very rough and worse thing is every 5 minutes a plane flys over , not relaxing at all . Would not come back here . Beds are rubbish , the place needs a refurbishment .
Travelled with wife and two young children (6 & 3).
We had an amazing time at Blue Bay. The place is set up for families to have a blast!
During the day, the animation team put on the usual waterpolo, aqua-aerobics etc which get everyone involved.
Equally there are quieter pools for a more chilled life.
The kids spent hours at the waterpark. It’s part of the resort and the all inclusive which is great with pirate ship slides for little one and bigger slides for older ones.
At night, the mini disco was class and the kids loved the actions to the songs. After, the acts were amazing, really good.
Food again great. Got three fussy eaters but all ate well all week from the main restaurant but particularly the snack bars where the view is beautiful.
Rooms are lovely. Ours was sea view which would recommend and had split bedroom for the kids and us.
You could easy spend all week without leaving the hotel but we like to venture out.
We took the shuttle to Rhodes Old Town from the hotel which was cheep and worked great for an evening trip.
Boat trip we did the El Greco one (google it!). Great, cheaper than hotel one and has private lagoon with paddle boards and kayaks plus snorkeling which kids loved.
Lastly, went to Kostas Village for a meal out. OMG what a place. Like a set from Mamma Mia. Food out of this world, service fantastic.
In summary, I always read reviews before going anywhere so hopefully this helps someone else! For a family holiday, you cannot go wrong, it was one of the best we’ve had!
Shocking tbh. The foods rubbish. You get one 1.5ltr bottle of water a day to share between a family of four. I asked for another bottle I was refused. I had to pay for water on a 3 thousand pound all inclusive holiday. The manager was rude and told me there’s water in the tap.
Location - Very good, perfect for travelling around the island and seeing what it has to offer. Rooms - feel outdated, but in general we’re okay and the cleaners were nice and in our part the room was cleaned well. Atmosphere was okay around, with lots of things for our kids to do, the beach being on the doorstep, the swimming pools were very busy and getting a sun bed could be a nightmare, some of which were broke or starting to break.
The food was not the stand out point, they do have lots of options but the quality of it seemed to vary on a day to day basis. With quite a few things being at added cost, this is not great value at an all inclusive. At least the costs were stated before you would order something, whether that was a drink or using one of the bookable restaurants.
It is in the flight path but I found the noise wasn’t too bad, and in the rooms could not notice this much at all.
Both myself and my daughter fell ill on the holiday, may have been a 24 hour bug as it was just us 2 out of 4, but when my other half went to the front desk to speak to them to let them know my daughter had been sick in the room and could we have some clean bedding for her, my wife said it could’ve been a bug or something she ate, the staff were quite abrupt to her asking how she knew it was the food, which she didn’t state it was, all she stated was what she had said above. I found this to be quite rude, the cleaner did come and help us when we asked and was very helpful and friendly.
Overall we did have a good holiday but I wouldn’t choose this hotel to stay at again, it wasn’t terrible but I feel overall there are places with better value and possibly a better overall experience rather than us making the best out of the situation we were in.
It’s a great place to stay with kids. It is about 10 km from the island’s capital, Rhodes. There’s a water park on site, which is perfect for children, as well as several swimming pools and plenty of activities for the whole family. The hotel is spacious, clean and surrounded by beautiful gardens. The beach is also right next to the hotel, so you can easily combine relaxing by the sea with a day at the pool.
The food is tasty and varied, with plenty of options for children as well as a good selection of international cuisine. The hotel’s spa is also a great place to relax. I had a massage with Inna, and it was very relaxing and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it!
The island is also very well connected, so it’s easy to explore the area. You can use the local bus network, and cards or contactless payments are widely accepted. The hotel also offers a reasonably priced shuttle bus to Rhodes town. There is a car rental company right next to the hotel, which makes it very easy to rent a car and organise a day trip on your own.
Overall, Blue Bay is a great choice for a family holiday, especially if you want to combine relaxation at the hotel with exploring the island. We would happily come back!
