This is a magnificent resort, a unique masterpiece of architecture. The hotel has borrowed many features from the ancient town of Rhodes and really stands out with its impressive colour combinations. Wealth, space and elegance are the predominant elements here. Guests become enchanted by the setting, the colours and the collection of wall paintings. The accommodation units are carefully appointed and offer all the comforts of a resort. All guest rooms feature individually regulated air-conditioning and heating and an en-suite bathroom. Guests of all ages can choose between the 3 freshwater swimming pools including a waterfall, a children's swimming area and a poolside snack bar, not forgetting the beautiful sandy beach, ideal for families and romantic couples.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We have stayed at nine all inclusive resorts in the past three years, including three Mitsis hotels, and have always thought very highly of the Mitsis chain. Unfortunately, this stay has genuinely tainted our view.
We booked a Superior Double Garden View but were initially placed in a small, dark and cramped room overlooking a rusty wall (see photo). Access involved numerous steps and was very difficult with a pram. After two nights we were moved to a proper Superior Double Garden View room, which was very pleasant and much more representative of what we expected.
The biggest issue is overcrowding. The hotel simply feels too busy for the facilities available. There are long queues for drinks and food, the main buffet is extremely unpleasant at peak times, and there are simply nowhere near enough sunbeds.
Unfortunately, the sunbed situation deeply affected our holiday. On one occasion, another couple physically removed our towels and belongings from our sunbeds and took them. When challenged, they became aggressive. Initially, we felt the hotel did very little to support us or resolve the situation, which left us extremely uncomfortable. Hotel staff initially dealt with us, as if we were the problem, and left the guests to take our sunbeds.
Eventually a manager met with us, apologised and offered to deal with the guests involved. He was reasonable, professional and pleasant, but also acknowledged that problems around sunbeds are common when the hotel is at full capacity.
For us, this incident genuinely ruined a significant part of the holiday. You should not be dealing with confrontation and aggressive behaviour over sunbeds at a premium five star all inclusive resort. More importantly, we felt the situation was ultimately created by having far too many guests competing for too few facilities. The irony is that we pay these prices for our holidays, to avoid this exact issue!
There are positives. The food and drinks are excellent and most staff are hospitable and hardworking. The hotel also has some lovely views, although its steep hillside location and numerous steps make it difficult with a pram or small children.
We have previously been strong advocates of Mitsis and have chosen the chain repeatedly because of the quality and hospitality. Sadly, this experience has tainted that confidence, particularly because the overcrowding and sunbed problems feel completely at odds with the premium experience Mitsis promotes.
I would avoid this particular hotel during peak summer, especially with babies or young children. There is a good hotel underneath it all, but at full capacity the experience simply isn’t what we would expect from Mitsis.
We have returned from a brilliant holiday at Rodos Village. I never write trip advisor reviews but feel that the 5star service my 3 year old son Mylo received was way above anything we could’ve asked for. Unfortunately on the first day he slipped by the splash pool and banged his head on a sunlounger.
It was a freak accident that couldn’t be recreated if you tried, where he cut the inside of his ear open. The team were fast, professional and caring. The manager and lifeguards were with us quickly and managed the Situation so well.
The main life guard cuddled my son while I grabbed our stuff. An amazing driver from the hotel (I cannot attempt to spell your Greek name sorry haha!) but picture below! took us to the medical centre and then onwards 45 mins to the main Rhodes hospital as it was a complex injury. Even stopping off for water and snacks on the way. He waited with us hours and drove us back to the hotel once my son’s ear had been stitched up. (An experience I never wish to have again it was pretty brutal for my son) but he was kind, caring and so helpful to have someone who spoke Greek too.
It was above and beyond anything I expected and made a distressing situation more manageable. The staff when we returned all checked on my son high fiving him and making sure he was ok for the rest of the holiday.
Is the hotel perfect, no, some things could be improved such as the food in the main buffet and rooms cleaned more thoroughly. BUT the service is certainly 5 star. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Thank you to the team for a brilliant holiday!
Hotel facilities was great, sea weather was amazing. Food was the worst I have seen in a hotel So far! There was not enough choices we were eating pasta salad and chips for 10 days! We came to The point were we had pot noodles most of the time imagine going to a 5star hotel paying £6000 and eating pot noodles. Breakfast was the same everyday! Hotel was very under staffed beach was full couldn’t find any sun beds only 2 drink bars 1 working in each. Que was 20 mins no shade. The only good thing about this hotel was staff. There was not enough but the ones there went out of their way to please you. İlyas was the only staff working alone by the poolside did not stop for a minute made sure everybody had a drink and always would come around asking for anything needed! İLYAS YOU WAS THE BEST! Not one person had something bad to say about him. Secondly Fio the barmen again you were great.
As I said hotel was good but not a 5star very under staffed.
We have just returned from a lovely week long break. 10 of us travelled and all enjoyed our experience at Mitsis Rodos Village. First night of arrival, we were all upgraded to a more superior refurbished room to the one booked. This was a lovely gesture but didn’t work for our 4 of the 10 because we have a teen the size of an adult and the upgrade was a smaller room. The next day, staff moved us to the room we booked which was a family room with a sliding door for privacy between beds. This room looked more dated than the others, but worked perfectly for us. The rest of the party kept to their upgraded rooms and were more than happy . We pre booked à la carte way in advance and visited all of the food outlets. These were all really enjoyable, but the Pan Asian was the best! Amazing choice and the wonderful service. Sun beds around the main pools areas were limited, however we like a slow morning and I have never ever stayed in a hotel at peak season and instantly selected a sunbed of my choice. This is a universal issue across resorts around the world and not something easily managed. I did see staff moving towels as per their policy. We always found somewhere to sit at the kids splash pool and the service from the bar up there was excellent. Gorgeous friendly lady who I had some fab chats with, I didn’t get her name but know her husband works at the night bar and he was a star too. Food areas, toilets, communal areas and rooms were kept spotlessly clean and tidy. Bar staff were on the whole friendly and efficient, hand mixed cocktails were delish and none of the machine mixed rubbish I’ve had in other hotels. It’s a really lovely hotel with very hard working staff. My only negative I’d say is how some of the staff spoke to their teams. I witnessed three times male staff who it appeared to be training or supporting actually being quite cruel to colleagues and treating them with a distinct lack of respect. One of them I actually called out and told him he was unkind and to be more gentle. He apologised to me but not the young colleague in question, which was really not the point, no one comes to work to be mimicked and degraded.
We are currently on day seven of an eleven‑day stay at the Mitis Rhodos, and one staff member has stood out head and shoulders above the rest: Despina. She is an absolute credit to the hotel. While only a few elements of the hotel truly reflect its 5‑star claim, Despina consistently delivers service of that standard. She is skilled, charming, attentive, and genuinely committed to ensuring every guest feels seen and valued. From the moment you meet her, she creates a warm connection that makes you and your family feel special. She typically manages the downstairs bar with remarkable efficiency — to the point where you barely need to stand up all evening, as your drink seems to arrive the moment you think of it. Last night, however, the lower bar was closed and she had been moved upstairs, likely due to staffing issues. With only one bar open, the queues became long and the pressure increased, yet Despina handled it with professionalism and grace. She acknowledges everyone waiting, prioritises effortlessly, and reduces queues in no time. I have never encountered a bar manager who delivers this level of quality. I sincerely hope the lower bar reopens soon so Despina can return to the space she runs with true 5‑star excellence. She is an outstanding professional — full of passion, skill, and genuine care. Meeting her has been a joy, and she has made our holiday all the more memorable. Despina is a true legend.
