Acandia Hotel in Rhodes Town offers a stylish and modern retreat, just a short walk from the Old Town and the beach. Its elegantly designed rooms feature amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and private balconies, providing guests with comfort and convenience during their stay. Some rooms also offer views of the Aegean Sea or the town.
The hotel boasts an inviting outdoor pool, perfect for relaxing under the Mediterranean sun, and a restaurant that serves a variety of local and international dishes. With its prime location close to historical attractions, shops, and restaurants, Acandia Hotel is an ideal base for exploring the rich culture and vibrant life of Rhodes Town.
Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
The hotel is situated in a very good location. Literally a few blocks from Elli Beach and lots of good restaurants. Old Town is a bit further, but still very walkable along the shoreline/harbor area. The main shopping area is also within a walking distance. There is also a car rental literally around the corner, e-bike rentals a bit further. There are at least two convenience stores. The hotel foyer was very pretty.
Our room (basic, I'm guessing, although labeled as "Deluxe") was kind of tiny, but OK. No room for two suitcases, though. The bed was great! Not too hard, but still firm and supportive. A huge plus for a proper stand up shower!
Our main complaint is the absolute lack of any noise insulation whatsoever. Not only do you hear everything from the pool area, you hear absolutely everything from adjacent rooms, rooms above and the hallway. Had at least one sleepless night due to some room-partying individuals next door. I always bring earplugs everywhere, though.
Other people have also commented on the pool area music - it was often WAY too loud and distracting! Please do something about this. A chill pool area needs to have relaxing nonintrusive "lounge" type music like you'd hear at the Elli beach clubs during daytime, not some Spotify Pop playlist blasting at full volume.
My partner had one of the very-affordably-priced massages, and said it was very good and worth the money.
I though it was funny how the manager explained their hotel policies upon check-in in overt detail, as if we were in a hotel for the first time in our lives. Perhaps due to other inexperienced Finns...?
I don't consider this hotel four stars, at all. Like, some or most people were very impressed by the breakfast, I thought it was mediocre at best (compared to what I've had in true four star hotels) with flies everywhere.
Lovely hotel with staff that went the extra mile. We were staying as a couple and our son decided to join us for the last 6 days. Sabrina moved 'heaven and earth' to arrange accommodation for all three of us. Aside from that the hotel was lovely and would recommend as an ideal location to visit all surrounding areas
What can I say!!!! Excellent, amazing, wonderful hotel!!! Staff are friendly, helpful, kind...always greeted with a smile and due to my mobility issues, any help we requested was given plus more. I was overwhelmed by the kindness, professionalism of everyone here...from Front of house, to waiting staff/housekeeping. Cannot praise enough.Thankyou for a wonderful stay. Location excellent, centre of town... decor lovely, comfortable clean rooms with a walk in shower. ( Ideal for my mobility issues). We only had breakfast, perfectly satisfactory, excellent coffee.
The location is perfect. It is set right in the heart of “new” Rhodes which is only 6 or so blocks from the Old Town. The check in process was easy. The room is fine. Clean and has a balcony. No view but it was nice to just sit out there in the mornings. The breakfast was included and there are plenty of options. They are the same offerings each day but it’s enough to start your day. The front desk isn’t great but they will help you if pushed.
This is a vey comfortable hotel. Our bed was so huge I wasn’t sure when my partner was in it. Although our balcony faced the main road, it still felt private and had a handy drop-down rail for drying clothes. The en-suite is good and the shower was excellent, but we thought the shower head at waist height was the main shower and didn’t find the button that switched to the overhead shower until the last day. Doh!
There is limited storage space, two small drawers and some shelves. There are more hangers than you often get in a hotel, but I still brought more and needed them.
The hotel doesn’t do an evening meal, but there are many tavernas and pubs nearby and at the reception desk, they advertise deliveries in case you want a night in.
The room has 3 electric sockets and 2 USB charger slots. The bathroom has one socket and a hairdryer.
I’m pleased that the chambermaids didn’t insist on putting the extraneous pillows and cushions back on the bed each day after we removed them on the first day. The staff are very friendly. Breakfast is multicultural and must have something for everyone.
The pool is open from 10 to 5 and only catches the sun between these times. There are bar snacks and the bar serves the pool area. Reception provides pool towels which can be changed every 2 days.
I like the location. Come out of the hotel and turn left and you will quickly come to the beaches (gravelly) on the Northern tip of the island. Come out of the hotel and continue straight and you will come to the harbour. Go right from there and you will come to the windmills and the old town.
Come out of the hotel and go right. After a little way you will pass a Spar on the left which has a bakery. (Handy for getting fresh sandwiches and coffee, milk and sugar as you don’t get refills in the room once you’ve used the complementary stuff.) Continue on to the top of the hill where the huge trees are, then turn left and go down the hill. At the bottom you will find the tourist end of the bus station. Do use the buses. Two of us went to Lindos and back for 22 euros and the 7 springs for 16 euros. Turn right after the bus station and you soon reach an entrance to the old town.
Often the hotel has some kind of entertainment in the evenings such as a singer, piano player or tango dancers. It’s all very decorous.
The bar is good and you get free crisps and nuts with each drink.
