The property was beautiful, the views unreal and the staff was so great! The concierge helped us organize everything and we loved it all. The food at the restaurant was amazing and the views from everywhere are breathtaking! Highly recommend!
We booked a suite with a terrasse and a pool for one week in September. The view on the sea and the city on the other side of the of the island are breathtaking. The service was top level and all employees were very friendly & professional.
We spent a long time planning our honeymoon and couldn’t have chosen a better hotel. Tripadvisor reviews are odd things. If, like us, you read a lot of them before choosing a hotel, it’s not uncommon to fixate in the one bad review and let that colour your opinion of a potential gem...
It’s also difficult to know if a positive review is simply the result of two people on honeymoon having a lovely time, wanting to be kind to the people that put them up. This hotel has very few negative reviews and deserves none of them. Believe all the good ones. We spent a lot of time looking through the pictures on trip advisor and on the hotels website. None of these pictures really do the hotel justice. The hotel has to be seen to be believed, you won’t be disappointed. The views are absolutely breathtaking. The rooms are much bigger and lighter than they appear in the photos and incredibly comfortable. We wanted a week in quiet hedonic luxurious hotel with a stunning view and we got exactly that. The staff make every effort to make your stay the best it can be. We waited for nothing. Every need was catered for. The reception staff were charming. Breakfast was great. We recommend the Greek pastries. Dinner was stunning. One waiter called, Eftychia (Greek for happiness) was particularly accommodating. Anaezina at reception was lovely and very welcoming. We didn’t want to leave. We write a gushing review not to ingratiate ourselves with our hosts but to be helpful to people doing what we were doing two weeks ago, reading tripadvisor reviews hoping to find just the right place. This was just the right place.
We went to the Ambassador hotel in Akrotiri for our thirtieth wedding anniversary. The hotel is gorgeous and their service is first class. Pepi the concierge is so wonderful and made sure our trip was perfect...
The restaurant is fantastic and their breakfast is included and consists of everything (and I do mean everything). We really enjoyed our terrace and private pool with a view of the caldera that was breathtaking. We also liked that it was a quiet area within walking distance of the village and ruins at Akrotiri but a short drive to Fira. We will be going back!!!
We visited Santorini as part of our honeymoon & were upgraded on arrival to a luxury suite which was a lovely start. We can’t praise the staff enough, they could not do more for us throughout our stay. A special thanks to Pepi on the concierge team, she was so informative (as were all the team) but she pretty much arranged everything for us - taxis, dinner reservations, Covid antigen tests and ferry tickets to Crete! Her knowledge of the island and advice was brilliant...
The hotel is so peaceful, with the most stunning of views. We arrived at night so we woke to the most beautiful view of the Caldera. The hotel is located in Akrotiri, which is a 20-30 drive from Fira and Oia but nice to be outside from all the hustle and bustle of the tourist hotspots.
We were half board, which we probably didn’t necessarily need as there’s plenty of tavernas either in Akrotiri or a short taxi drive away plus loads in Fira and Oia. The food was delicious and the portions were huge! One suggestion would be to change the menu every so often to offer some different options as it was the same for lunch and dinner.
Fira and Oia are really cool places, busy but with really nice vibes - very friendly and relaxed. Very couple orientated and it was nice not to have large groups of tourists taking over.
We’d also highly recommend visiting Imerovigli and Athenian House. We had an incredible tasting menu here and the sunset and view was better here than in Oia, with way less people.
We can’t recommend Ambassador Hotel & Suites enough, thank you for making our honeymoon so amazing!
