We stayed here for 4 nights after a week sailing, what a wonderful find The owners were lovely, very helpful and we became friends with them Rooms very nice. And very clean Beautiful pool area Only thing missing was a little bar, but you get a fridge in your room so it wasn’t too bad We would definitely stay here again Only a short walk to the top of the hill Lovely restaurants close by
Just returned from a lovely break here , owners very friendly and Anna was super helpful and nice . We were given a bigger room (no 5) perfectly clean and adequate . Opened our door on the first morning with a beautiful view of the sunrise .Great pool which we had to ourselves most of the time .
10 minute walk to the heart of Fira with all its shops , restaurants and views of the spectacular caldera. Crossing the roads was a bit manic,! Very busy .
We enjoyed coming back from town to the hotel which was away from the hustle and bustle and gave us the best of both worlds as the town was very touristy but I also felt like I had experienced a taste of traditional Greece too.
Had a very enjoyable stay and the owner was extremely welcoming, when we arrived we were offered a drink and shown around the rooms. All staff were very helpful giving us recommendations for dinner and where to go. Room - Great air conditioning, fridge in the room and very clean...
There was shampoo / shower gel in the bathroom but we didn’t use it. The pool area was lovely and well kept, very clean and we were provided with towels. The hotel itself is around 10 minute walk into Fira and in a really good location. The owner also offered us a lift to the airport which is very much appreciated! Our only mentions would be that the beds are quite hard and it would be good to sell water etc on site.
Pros - Staff (Anna) was amazing!!! She was incredibly helpful from the moment we arrived. She booked the ATV for us and gave us lots of personal assistance with figuring out the town and restaurant options. Pool is decent...
Location is great (assuming you are staying here to save some $$$ by not booking a hotel with a caldera view); walk to the bus stop is less than 10 mins.
Cons - If you are looking for a double bed so you can snuggle with your partner, you will likely have two twin beds pushed together. While I realize this is common in Europe, usually the beds slide all the way together, but our bed frames here prevented that from happening so you have a decent crack between the two beds. Also, the beds are super firm. Bathroom amenities need improvement. The shampoo/body wash must have been 25% product and 75% water. Also, the shower drain was clogged up so we were standing in a big pool of water as we showered, not to mention the water sprays everywhere in the bathroom...just not a good design. The towels were awful. Literally felt like they all should be bathmats at best.
In summary, not a bad option if you are looking to save money (although I would find a way to at least stay a few nights at a hotel on the caldera...you won't be sorry!). The staff will make sure you have as great of a stay as they can control but the owner needs to invest a bit of money to make some improvements to the rooms.
This is a great location for a stay in Santorini, five minute walk from the centre of Thira. The staff were very friendly and helpful, welcome drink given on arrival, organised a ATV for us and helped with storing our cases as we had a late flight (not 24 hour reception although the hotel will ask your arrival time so someone is there when you arrive).
The score of 4 is for the location and staff, the accommodation is more like a 3 but with a few improvements could be brought up to a 4.
The pool area is nice, with a small adult pool and child pool and sun beds and bean bags to relax in the sun.
There is plenty of parking for any hired vehicles...
The bus station is close so getting a transfer from port or airport is easy. Breakfast is supplied at extra cost but we did not take that option. The bad bits, as others have said the rooms themselves are quite basic, kettle but no coffee/tea etc., soap watered down in bathrooms. The hotel is on a 1 way street with a lot of traffic, including busses, but we could not hear this in our room. If you are after an economic base in a good location this is for you.
