The customer service was shockingly bad. We paid for breakfast, we didn’t get it with Covid cited as the reason. They didn’t clean our room even when we requested it, with Covid again being the reason...

We stayed in hotels during our trip in Fira and Oia and they all provided breakfast and cleaning if needed- it seems they are using a pandemic to cut corners and make some extra money. In santorini you can’t flush loo roll because they have delicate plumbing, which is absolutely fine and we respect that- there is a bin for the loo roll in the bathroom- they didn’t clean the rooms or empty the bins when requested, after a few days you can imagine the bin becomes full....for the price of the room I would have hoped to have the bins emptied. We got shouted at when asking for fresh towels. The lady who works on the front desk seems to employ the tactic of raising her voice to try and embarrass you into being quiet, we saw her do the same with others. Several other people were complaining around the hotel about the same problem with no one cleaning the rooms or providing towels when asked. The safe is under the bed in such a way you literally have to lie flat on the floor and shuffle under the bed to open it, no where to hang your clothes, barely space to move, no milk provided for the tea, the door has a gap under it so insects came in. The steps into the property were beyond treacherous. The property itself is pretty with a lovely view, but we were SO happy to leave and move on to our next hotel- The baggage porters however, were lovely! Service was appalling, spend your money elsewhere, beautiful hotels are 10 to the penny in Oia!

Memorable Stay

Review by fabbie Chicago

My sister and I had a very memorable stay from June 7-9. Started off with a prompt airport pick up pre-arranged with the hotel, reasonably priced at 35 Euros each way. On arrival, we were met by the friendly porter, regretfully forgot his name, who assisted us with our luggages to the main reception...

Was welcomed by the very bubbly concierge Karla and was extremely happy we got assigned room 110, honeymoon suite (cave room)with a private terrace, outdoor hot tub, and spa shower. The view of the caldera was so dreamy and the room was very spacious and well appointed, plus we were given a complementary bottle of wine on arrival. The room rate included breakfast which was ample, although we only tried it once since there were better choices nearby (highly recommend the crepes from hungry donkey). Location is unbeatable, very central to a lot of restaurants, bars, boutiques, souvenir shops, etc. Other notable restaurants nearby are Ambrosia, which was just a few steps from the hotel, as well as Pitogyros. We didn’t request for our room to be cleaned but housekeeping is available per request due to covid. As for the areas for improvement, the property is definitely not recommended for people who have difficulty walking as the steps to the hotel are quite steep and slippery. Also, The facilities are a bit lacking, the pool is small and the hotel only allows 2 people at a time. There are no on-site restaurants or bars, so you have to always leave the property to eat. Also of note, they only provide one bottle of water for the whole stay. However, these are just minor complaints and didn’t really affect our overal stay. We will not hesitate to recommend this hotel to our family and friends. The value can’t be beat considering it’s in the heart of Oia. It was definitely a memorable stay

Basic Hostel - Stay Clear

Review by max73626 Harpenden, United Kingdom

Probably the worst Hotel I have stayed at. Paid a fortune for 7 for what I thought would be a nice hotel after looking at their doctored photos. You have to pay up front before you get there with no refund and now I know why. There is over 100 uneven dangerous steps to climb down to get to it and the climb back up is worse...

There are no facilities whatsoever, no breakfast, no bar, no food, you have to ask about 10 times to have your room services or for a change of towels. They advertise the rooms are detached, they are all cramped on top of each other with no privacy. If you don’t book a room with a hot tub, you don’t get a sun lounger. The hot tub stinks and you won’t use it anyway. The view off the terrace is ruined by the sight of their storage of maintainable material and sheds. It had a rusty mini fridge, room full of insects, Rude reception staff (the porters were very nice and helpful), nowhere to hand your clothes so you had to live out of your suitcase. They had a safe bolted to the floor so you had to lie on the floor to access it. There were also unsightly stains on the mattress. So much better in the area for less money. When I was out in restaurants or booking an excursion they used to ask what hotel I was staying at and when I told them they shook their head, it tell it all. Don’t ruin your stay in Santorini, please book a different hotel.

Covid - paid up front thousands with no refund or Credit

Review by robynb356 Hamilton, New Zealand

We had a 5 day stay booked during the Covid time for 6 people. Holiday of a life time saved for ever. Unfortunately unable to leave our country...

So requested a refund or Credit as we do plan to go at some stage. Neither was given so so disappointed. Why can a credit not be given we paid thousands. Every other place has refunded or credited. SO GREEDY. WHY. Who ever visits please mention our case we are on the other side of the world and are helpless. Please give us a Credit so we can enjoy your beautiful property. When we go to you Island we will visit you and ask why you never replied to our Emails.

Great view/ things to improve

Review by barur2017

Positive points: The view was amazing and the jacuzzi was so relaxing! We really enjoyed it. The bedroom was nicely decorated and the room had a big balcony. Negative points: the last steps of the stairs leading to the hotel are in bad shape which makes it quite dangerous, they should definitely do something about it. The bed is not the most confortable and you can hear everyone around you so a bit annoying when you want to relax and rest...

And another very annoying thing was that in the morning when we were going to the balcony to take our breakfast we were getting all the cigarette smoke from the employees which were smoking in the tables under us,so definitely not nice to have to smell that at 8am, specially because we are not smokers and I guess they could smoke in an other area not next to the guests. And finally we stayed 4 nights and we only got out bedroom cleaned once because they said they couldn't do it more often because of covid, but we stayed in other hotels in Greece before arriving to Santorini and our bedroom was cleaned every day. There are small details but if you add all that, the experience is not the same at the end.
