We stayed at El Greco for 7 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hotel is modern, well maintained, recently renovated and has had good investment with beautiful features and it’s spotlessly clean. Housekeeping was excellent and the room was always cool and clean after our day out! The surroundings create a really relaxing feel that enhance that Santorini feeling with white washed buildings and blue trim everywhere and then there are stunning gardens that make everywhere lush and green, which is welcomed when the landscape is so dry. Staff are friendly and accommodating. The hotel has several pools which meant that it never felt too busy as there was space but sunbeds could be an issue, so popping your towel early is sensible if you want to enjoy a pool day. There isn’t a beach but the view across the caldera from the front for sunset is stunning. Fira is a ten minute walk and although on a busy road there is a pathway most of the way. As others have said, breakfast was ok - eggs were a little dry, and options are a little limited but it was fine. We ate out mostly, lots of restaurants nearby, you pay more for the sunset views in central Fira, but if you go into the town on the side streets, there are equally good restaurants and much more reasonable. There is a supermarket nearby and some of the restaurants, a bakery and bbq grill which we used for lunches. Cannot recommend this hotel enough, and we would return here if we came back to Santorini!

Beautiful relaxing hotel!

Amazing experience, would definitely recommend this hotel. Less than 10 minute walk to the supermarket and bus station. Fira town also up the road. Staff were excellent and very friendly! Buffet breakfast in the morning was good, lots of veggie options available. Hotel was very clean, with fresh towels every morning. We got a complementary bottle of complementary on arrival as we said it was our anniversary. Many pools to choose from and sun-beds available. Pools were fairly quiet and pool bar close for drinks and food. Couldn’t say a bad word really, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Amazing stay!!

I genuinely do not understand how anyone can fault anything about this hotel. We are here with a 5-year-old and everything is perfect. We've stayed in 5 star hotels all over the world and El Greco is definitely that. It is spotlessly clean. Fresh towels daily. More on request. Pool towels available on request. Food is absolutely out of this world. Plenty of choice and so much meat and fish per person/portion, if you like that. Veggie options also. We are gluten free and haven't struggled one bit for bread (on request) or with the daily menu. The waiter even cooked my little girl some chicken and chips because she just fancied some! Our little one has loved just being in the pool daily and our visits to historic Akrotiri and the Atlantis Experience. It isn't a "kids" holiday, but you'd go to Turkey or Spain if you want a water park... Or Haven. Pool toys and family time was what has impressed our very high energy little one. Lots of children here enjoying life. The spa is fabulous too. Treated my husband to a massage on our first day and he's like a new man. The staff are friendly and helpful, literally cannot fault them either. If you are worried about bringing children, don't. There are so many pools. Just bring a few cheap diving toys and they soon put the electronics down! Location is fab. Bus station is a 5 minute walk into centre. Supermarket and pharmacy also 5 mins away. Lots of eateries outside of main hotel. Yes, hotel is UK prices, but go outside to eat if you prefer or supermarket and stock up your room fridge and you can have a cheap day. Don't hesitate to book. It is a beautiful place with everything you need.

Fabulous... And gluten free options!

Great location and very good facilities. Rooms are cleaned every day and kept in good order. Staff are friendly and hardworking and will help with anything you ask. 

Breakfast is great with a number of options despite what a lot of people are saying unless you are a fry-up every day kind of person. 

The resort is pretty quiet unless you are up by the road or near the pool bar. If they give you a room there and you like going to sleep before 2am you will want to change. 

You can’t really blame the hotel for the behaviour of people who stay there, but really they need to police the pool bed situation. When you have to get up at 7:30am every day to get the last few available beds you know something is going wrong. Some beds then don’t get occupied by anything other than a towel until midday so I’m guessing towels are being put out before they are going to bed. No comment needed on where those people are from other than that they are not German.

The hotel was fantastic.. so clean / modern…and staff so friendly.  Our room was a superior room which overlooked one of the pools.. 10/10 for the cleanliness and replenishment of towels.  A special mention to Gabriel the restaurant manager, he and his lovely staff kept tables clean and tidy, were so attentive with each guest.  We were half board and the food was delicious, and varied. definitely recommend a stay here.

This magnificent hotel, built in Cycladic style, is beautifully nestled in a secluded area very close to Fira. In the centre of the town guests will find a variety of shopping and cultural opportunities, as well as a number of restaurants and taverns. Kamari can be reached with convenient bus stops which are available from the hotel. The airport is approximately 7 km away. The hotel offers an excellent service and an ideal Greek atmosphere, perfect to disconnect from daily life.
