El Greco

TripAdvisor Review
Greece, Europe

This magnificent hotel, built in Cycladic style, is beautifully nestled in a secluded area very close to Fira. In the centre of the town guests will find a variety of shopping and cultural opportunities, as well as a number of restaurants and taverns. Kamari can be reached with convenient bus stops which are available from the hotel. The airport is approximately 7 km away. The hotel offers an excellent service and an ideal Greek atmosphere, perfect to disconnect from daily life.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

My favorite hotel on my Greece trip!

Review by txchiquita22 Dallas, Texas

My daughter & I stayed here two nights - Tues 10/5 & Wed 10/6. We arrived with a large group & the front desk staff took such wonderful care of all of us! They got our bags to our rooms and the cleaners happened to be next to our room & checked to be sure we were happy with everything before leaving us. Our room was clean and roomy. We had room to open our bags and put things away...

The bathroom was cool, the shower doesn't have a door, so had to get used to that! There was a blowdryer and each bed had USB plugs for your phones. The many pools on the property meant there was always an empty seat to lay and just enjoy the beautiful water. The property is located just across the way from a great view from the cliff, great for taking photos. There is a good restaurant/bar off the main pool. You can either sit inside the clear-walled dining area or at one of the tables outside. We had a great lunch with delish pizza and cold drinks. Some had fish & chips & said it was really good. Americans - don't forget to ask for condiments, they aren't served automatically. The hotel provides room service, but not until after noon. The front desk staff - can't say enough good things about them. There were so many of us, but they kept us organized and answered questions patiently. They will happily call a taxi for you - but be ready because they get there super quick! You don't need a taxi to go to Fira - it's just a short walk! The staff made this a most memorable stay for us and I would love to go back sometime.

Good location but staff not very engaging

Review by Khufu120 Farnborough, United Kingdom

Nice reception area and reception staff. Room was basic and had a very noisy fridge. Breakfast was quite good and a nice pool area. Most of the other staff need a lesson in customer service, walking around with an attitude they were doing you a favour.

Good location but would not stay there again

Top Hotel

Review by Big_Jeff_Leo St Helens, United Kingdom

This hotel is actually the sister hotel of the Santorini Palace. We were sting in the Palace but wanted to take advantage of the Spa facilities in the El Greco, so we booked this and they sent us transport. Not only was the excellent spa enjoyed but we spent the afternoon in the hotel enjoying its facilities...

The hotel is very impressive with its multiple pools and spotless well maintained buildings and facilities. The staff are helpful and have a sense of humor, particularly in the pool bar. Because the hotel is out of town from Fira it has the ability to spread out and you do get this spacious feeling with plenty of public areas. If we had not stayed in the Palace then we would have been happy to stay here.

A definite must

Review by angeladB2258XO

Just home after a fabulous week in Santorini, a place I've always wanted to visit, and finally I got there. If, like me, you want to go to Santorini, but have no idea where to stay, you spend days looking at hotels, seeing what you like and then trying to work out where it's located! Hopefully my review will help a bit. El Greco hotel and spa resort, is where I finally chose, and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. The hotel is gorgeous, spacious, spotlessly clean and a perfect location...

The Staff really do go above and beyond for their guests. A special mention to the lovely Anna Marie on reception. It was my birthday while I was there, my husband wanted to surprise me with a bouquet of flowers, Anna Marie organised the flowers for him, then a bottle of champagne on ice was delivered to the room courtesy of hotel management and staff. I was really touched with their attention to detail. The location of the hotel was perfect for us, nice and quiet for daytime sunbathing and only a short walk to the bustling beautiful town of Fira. A five minute walk to the supermarket which is at the bottom of the town a further five minutes through little streets brings you to the centre of the town which boasts the most amazing views imaginable. The town has more restaurants and bars than you could ask for! After the most amazing week in Santorini I will definitely be going back and my accommodation choice will most certainly be El Greco Hotel and Spa

Beautiful Hotel & Service

Review by 264arta Fogelsville, Pennsylvania

While on vacation in Greece, we stayed 3 nights on Santorini at the El Greco Resort. Beautiful hotel located walking distance to the shopping/dining area in Fira, with a tremendous views especially of the sunset. The room was very large and adjacent to one of 4 infinity pools on the site...

The bed was 2 twins pushed together to form one large bed, contained 1 sofa for seating, desk area, modern bathroom, TV/mini-fridge and strong WiFi across the property. The onsite restaurant was excellent with tremendous service for all the meals. The breakfast buffet (especially) was filled with many hot and cold options.

We didn't get to try out the other amenities (Gym and Spa), but other than a few mosquito bites, the stay was near perfect. Highly recommended!
