The hotel is situated in Imerovigli in a very quiet and peaceful location which enjoys breathtaking sunsets and unique views of the deep blue Aegean sea and the caldera. Shops, restaurants and public transport connections are within around 150 m of the hotel. The main town of Fira with bars and pubs is around 1.8 km from the hotel. Santorini's Airport is about 10 km away while the main port of Athinios is approximately 12km

This place is hardly a 5 star, more like 3. Multiple issues from the moment we arrived. People barging into your room at random times (once while we were sleeping).....
Breakfast was a mess the entire trip. Every day, items were late, missing, undercooked, overcooked, cold, dry, hard, mushy, questionable, you name it. Grabbing a pastry at a cafe would be a thousand times better!... The supposed "private" pool is not private at all. You share the space with other rooms and it is commonly used as a walkway for employees. You also don't get any of the Santorini view from your pool at all... Multiple requests for basic things such as towels, iron, ironing board went ignored. When I practically begged for the 4th time over 2 days for an iron (since we were headed to a wedding that day and all of our clothes were wrinkled), they delivered this ironing board that was broken, rusted and rickety that I wound up accidentally bashing my finger just to open it up... If that wasn't bad enough, there was this rotten smell permeating from the drain by the bathroom sink!... And the worst part? A $100 bill went missing from my room. I admit that I should have secured it better but it's still terrible that someone there felt that it was free for the taking!
Due to timing of requests throughout the days, we mainly dealt with a thin young man with glasses that worked at the front desk. Every communication with him about anything every day was an issue and made us feel like we were a nuisance. Yolanda and Harris were the only ones that tried and were knowledgeable and nice. Despite their efforts, we never felt welcome here.
I've never written a bad review on a hotel, but for $667 per night, our experience should have been tremendously better than what we received.
My husband and I were upgraded to our room in the Gold Suites, and it was a fantastic experience. The views of the sunset and caldera are fantastic, and this hotel is situated at the top of the hill in Imerovigli. What this means is that there are no hotels above you (where people look down on your "private" balcony from above) and you are also high enough that tourists walking along the trails do not get to peer right into your balcony or room...
We had a private breakfast on our balcony every day enjoying the view and relaxed in our personal plunge pool to watch the sunset each night.
The front desk personnel were also fantastic and accommodated our every need. They got us dinner reservations for restaurants that were full, arranged for a couples massage, arranged transportation for us each day, and always greeted us with a smile.
I would recommend the Gold Suites to any of my friends looking for a place to stay in Santorini with great views to take in the beautiful island. The location at the top of the hill in Imerovigli is prime, and the balconies felt very private (as opposed to the other hotels that we saw nearby).
Wonderful stay at the Gold Suites. Yolanda, Harris, and all the staff were so warm and made the trip such a pleasure.
Beautiful views, excellent breakfasts, very comfortable rooms, and a lot of effort made to make stays feel special made this a really wonderful experience. Would recommend!
We stayed in one of the Superior Suites for four nights and had a wonderful time. The free breakfast that was delivered to our balcony every morning allowed us to enjoy the spectacular view in comfort. We also discovered, after viewing the sunset from Oia and also from a boat, that the view from our room was the best of all...
The hot tub was also an oft-used feature of our room. Owing to the arid climate, June nights in Santorini turned surprisingly chilly.
The front desk staff were helpful and friendly, and accommodated our needs as best as possible, arranging for transportation and giving us great recommendations for restaurants to try.
There were a few minor issues during our stay. One night, after coming back from a long day of hiking, we discovered that there was no hot water. The problem was resolved the next afternoon, but at the end of a hot, sticky day, we were really looking forward to a shower. Another time, one of the cleaning staff barged into our room without knocking in order to deliver a bathmat that we had not asked for. Finally, on the last day of our stay, some workers were making repairs on the air conditioner of the room below. To reach the A/C unit, they had to stand on the walls, meaning their heads were right above the floor of our balcony - a bit invasive.
All in all, a wonderful stay but hopefully they can work out some of the kinks in their operation.
For the price you pay you receive sub par service and almost feel like a nuisance to the staff. Due to COVID they have slots for breakfast and as we were a group of 5 they apparently couldn’t accommodate us at the same time so we couldn’t eat breakfast together. Further to this don’t expect your breakfast on time...
The first day it was 30 mins late after being forced to take the 11am time slot - we called reception and they said it will be with us shortly. The next day it was late again and we called reception and apparently they had ‘changed their policy so breakfast was in a 30 minute time slot now instead of a set time’ which was very convenient as it was over 30 minutes late. On our checking out day they said they would have breakfast ready for 10:15 for checkout at 11. We call at 11 and ask where it is and apparently there had been a power cut even though none of us had experienced any issues with our devices charging. Also the food is not great (clearly microwaved after precooking & omelettes & pancakes are solid is some parts). We asked if we could have a delayed checkout as our flight was at 7pm and they weren’t using the rooms and they wanted to charge €250 for the use of 1 room for 5 hours! Madness! So we just hung around the pool and used a loo instead. They also only use 1 taxi man who they definitely use to rip off tourists, hike the price up and take a cut. They charged €50 for an airport transfer and when we asked a different taxi they said €25. Very fishy that the hotel suggests a higher price and also the taxi driver had an attitude when we told him he was driving to the wrong place after telling him we wanted to go to ancient Thera numerous times. Finally they try and pretend the water in the room is complimentary which is not the case - nothing is complimentary! The room is not clean at all as well and not COVID safe - my sister washed mould off her shower which came off easily proving they don’t clean properly. Overall you could overlook small things if the price was lower but they charge a crazy amount for below par service. I would not stay here again.
