This fantastic villa complex, consisting of 3 beautiful and traditional Cycladic buildings, is beautifully located in on the cliff side of Imerovigli and offers its guests amazing views of the volcano and the Aegean Sea. Please note The Poor rating is for the Krokos Studio only
We stayed in three properties on our seven day stay here, not ideal on a romantic anniversary trip.
Upgraded on First night / Nefeli Homes / Excellent Second / Third night / Krokos studio / Poor Our Remaining Four nights in Villa Rinio / Excellent
We booked a Krokos Studio for our 20th wedding anniversary and stayed in September 2019,on arrival reception staff noted our anniversary and we were given an upgrade to 'Nefeli Homes', this was only for the first night, we were concerned that we would be living out of our suitcases for the first 24 hours but hey its an upgrade. Nefeli was a definite treat, peaceful, quiet, clean, very stylish and modern with stunning views, next day we were moved to Krokos Studio's which was the exact opposite , OMG what a come down, it seems Krokos owners have several properties using the Krokos label and this one was directly under the "Anastasi Church", looking neglected and Untidy in places, Painted in an Unattractive Beige/Brown colour when every other property is neatly white washed, obviously in need of a re-paint / re-style, we were shown to our studio which was a huge letdown considering how much we had paid for a weeks stay, The studio and surrounding area was poorly maintained, cramped and small with broken fixtures and fittings, windows wouldnt lock properly, work surfaces had become damp and rotted away in places, Shower and bathroom were minute in size...There was only ONE saving grace and that was the stunning views from the terrace, After looking a little closer at the terraces, garden area and flowerbeds we noticed lots of litter, cigarette ends ,water bottles, some old worn out parasols, tables and chairs were thrown behind the shrubbed area and a few of the other terraces were very untidy. Now you dont have to be a brain surgeon to work out that some proprietors do take advantage of the stunning views, You could sleep on the pathway along the cliff edge and wake up to a stunning view of the Caldera for free, but we had paid good money...after complaining we were eventually offered another studio which was on the terrace above ours which was also not satisfactory, after three sleeping nights out of our seven we were offered another property , The very helpful reception staff asked if we would like to move to another property and showed us Villa Rinio, we agreed and it was great news. Villa Rinio is Modern, Comfortable, Stylish but small, Immaculately kept and Private balcony with stunning views with breakfast served everyday by The Brilliant "Vladimir", Our rating for Villa Rinio would be excellent, The Poor rating was for the Krokos Studio Only which is not up to standard. The staff were very helpful in dealing with our complaint, we would stay again in Villa Rinio and we would recommend it but we would advise to check your room location on booking, The Standard studio we would not recommend.
We´ve been on holidays at the end of July in the Greek islands and the experience was amazing. In Santorini, it was a bit tricky to find the accommodation but we would have had the same problem in any of the apartments in there (you agree with me when you get there). The views of the apartments to the "Caldera" was simply stunning...
As soon as we arrived we decided to extent our stay for two more nights. The first night we were able to keep our room but for the second the room was not available. Since the first day, the staff helped and supported us with everything and as they were almost fully booked, they offered us an upgrade to the resorts they also had. I cannot say in words what amazing experience we had, how much they helped and how wonderful they were with us. I really recommend Krokos Village and if you can afford it, the resort. Thank you to all the friendly staff in there, especially the Managing Director, Stefanos as well as Εμίλιο (Emilio) who have made us feel we were at home. Congratulations to all of you, you can be very proud of your work which, on the other hand, it seems is not a work at all! Many countries should learn about you.
WOW! Krokos is a stunning set of villa's right on the Caldera. Strategically located in between Fira and centre of Imerovigli; You're in the hub!
Angelo was amazing at showing us the ropes of the villa and was easy to deal with. Vladimir is a superman! From taking luggage between reception and the villas, (it's no easy task!) to delivering breakfast each morning to your villa, he's a great asset and a work horse.
We loved how we were frequented daily by a black cat...
This black cat is looked after by the hotel. We stayed in Rinio's Villa and named the little cat "Rini". She would stop by most days and we even would go to the shops to get some Tuna just to feed her.
We are already planning our return to Krokos Villa and wouldn't stay anywhere else.
Stunning views from our villa over the caldera. The staff were amazing from arrival in reception to breakfast served on your terrace. Order what you wanted the day before and eat it with that stunning view in front of you. Nothing was to much trouble for this hard working staff...
Thank you krokos villas.
The villa is located in Imerovegli, close to Fira , a well known town in Santorini. It takes about 20 min to get to Fira on foot from the Villa Our room had a balcony ( see pictures below) The room is small but there are larger suites available. There is a pool ( did not get to use it) Close by there is a hill you can climb up and get spectacular sunset views I would definitely stay at the same spot if i went back to Santorini You need about 4 days in Santorini if you want to do a cruise to the volcanoe, which, unfortunately, we did not get to do
