Ideal for a do nothing stay-cation.

Review by malteserunderground Island of Malta, Malta

The Kempinski never disappoints. From the pools, to the spa and to the hotel staff, the hotel truly lives up to its status and reputation of being one of the best five-star resorts in Malta.

We booked the Standard Room - which was more than enough space for two people...

It was quite spacious, with a lovely sitting area in the balcony.

The Kempinski is ideal for stay-cations - we spent most of our time lounging by the main pool. The spa treatments are also more than amazing. The Winter Energizer Massage worked us in all the right places and relieved much of the tension in my shoulders.

The only criticism that I have is that the indoor pool had to be booked for use in advance, due to the COVID-19 restrictions - even if the pool was evidently empty. The jacuzzi and the Hammam area of the spa are also decommissioned for the time being. Moreover, the cocktails and the food in the hotel are a bit pricey.

Other than this, our experience at the Kempinski was one for the books.

A luxury hideaway

Review by diptir2015 Dubai, United Arab Emirates

If you want to get floated away in a dreamland, then this is a perfect spot for you. The luxury property holds true to it's European flair and I could experience it in every moment of my stay. The rooms are excellent and the swimming pools were very well maintained...

The choice of F&B outlets is great and the service standards are beyond expectation. Special thanks to Damian and his entire F&B team for making my breakfasts, lunches, and dinners amazing. And heartfelt appreciation to the GM for the overall operations of the resort.

Don’t waste your money

Review by kaybewoking london

If you come here thinking it’s a 5 star luxury resort you will be very disappointed. The rooms are VERY basic, made worse by the fact that all soft furnishings have been removed due to Covid - yet not in the public areas: go figure! We booked a junior suite but honestly I wish I hadn’t. It’s just a larger room with a coffee table and stained sofa...

No bigger than a standard hotel room in most hotels. The hard furniture (desk, cupboards, etc) have seen better days and are scuffed and marked. The toiletries are basic too. The only positive is that it’s very clean. Pool area in need of some TLC and pool loungers have seen better days. I have waited over a year for a week in the sun and paid good money to be here but I feel like I have been taken for a mug! Not what I would have expected of the Kempinski brand and won’t be rushing to one of their hotels any time soon.

Worth the time to review

Review by MrsStephanieShaw Chesterfield, United Kingdom

Both the hotel and spa are excellent. Our two week holiday did have a couple of issues, they are not worth mentioning as the way everything was resolved and dealt with by the staff and management was befitting of the 5 star status. Food was good however Tmun in Mgarr beats everywhere hands down...

The spa was a highlight of the two weeks, 7 days of treatments left both of us feeling more relaxed than we have been for a very long time. I can’t recommend it enough.

Review by JenniferPeetes The Netherlands

Our stay was absolutely amazing. I will keep it short because my review will be a long gush review LOL.

The moment we stepped in everyone was so welcoming...

I could not find my passport and I totally forgot the pin code of my CC. I kept apologizing. Julie (at the reception) was so sweet.

I am lactose and gluten intolerant (forever cursed LOL). I felt so included dining and also having breakkie. I ate my first Maltese gluten free pasta at the L'Ortolan restaurant.

Pool was amazing. The garden is so cute. The staff is so polite. We (hubz and I) felt so relax. Room was clean. The maintenance lady did a great job.

Only a recommendation: Please include more gluten free pasta dishes.

Thank you guys so much. See you soon.

Cheers, Jennifer M (room 757) - a proud member
