Xlendi Bay

The majestic setting of Xlendi Bay is home to the St Patrick's Hotel, a four star establishment with so many things to recommend it. Not least the views! In a country renowned for having so many beautifully situated hotels, the views from St Patrick's Hotel must be some of the very best.

Sitting out on your balcony overlooking the little beach below with the sun going down over the sea has got to be a highlight of any holiday. But, the staff at the St Patrick's Hotel put themselves out to make sure that the quality of their hotel and their service match up to it.

Excellence all around you at the St Patrick's Hotel overlooking Xlendi Bay:

Guests at the St Patrick's Hotel are very lucky people. There is so much to see, to do and to enjoy in and around Xlendi Bay and the hotel itself. Added to that, the exceptional service and comfortable facilities help make it a very special place to be.

The superb hotel restaurant is another highlight – and one you'll want to keep returning to. It even opens out directly onto the Xlendi Bay promenade and boasts more of those outstanding views.

The terraced lounge bar is another popular spot – and another exceptional vantage point out over the bay. And don't miss the rooftop sun terrace, complete with plunge pool. Taking the plunge into the refreshingly cool water up here with so much beauty all around you is going to be quite an experience.

All rooms at St Patrick's Hotel are air conditioned, and many of them afford spectacular sea or valley views – just ask for details. You'll enjoy a full range of facilities, including cable TV, minibar, direct dial phone and hairdryer. We keep saying it, but you won't get tired of seeing it – the hotel restaurant also boasts fabulous sea views making for some spectacular dining experiences. Or you can pop into nearby Victoria and sample some of their nightlife and wide range of restaurants on offer.

Spectacular views alone don't make a good hotel, but they do when combined with easy access to local facilities, and courteous, accommodating hotel staff. St Patrick's Hotel is more than a great hotel; it is a treat for the senses.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Stunning location to a beautiful hotel

Review by maria w Leicester, United Kingdom

Always pick a sea view room as the view is outstanding. The staff and service is second to none. The only point that I would pick upon is the lack of variety of food seeing it is a 4 star hotel...

There should be more variety and not just 2 in section of the menu, otherwise the quality is good. It would be good to see more variety of fish food seeing that fish is so plentiful on the Island. It would be good to see more variety of teas namely herbal, peppermint or minty tea.

Basic hotel but in a beautiful position

Review by 1961DEBBIEB Whitchurch, United Kingdom

The hotel is clean and functional but having visited it for the past 10 thing has changed and it is looking sad and tired. Very clean and lovely staff. Breakfast is the same every day and is left standing and at best is luke warm. A bit of variation each day would be good. The best part is the view of the Bay ….simply breathtaking. Time on the sun roof was completely spoilt with building works all day….the peace was completely shattered and we should have been warned about the building works as I would have chosen somewhere quieter to stay.

First time in Gozo !

Review by Sharon G Horwich, United Kingdom

Absolutely amazing hotel ! Staff second to none and very friendly and very helpful ! Sea view room a must we were on the 4th floor amazing views ! Breakfast had plenty of choice but would have liked some fresh fruit ! Half board have a choice of 2 starters and 2 mains /or omelette and a slice of cake or a coffee! Downsides: building work at each side of the hotel and it starts at 5am do not expect a good sleep ! Roof top terrace has no chairs to sit on no sun loungers to sunbathe on and the plunge pool is only a quarter full and dirty ! Xlendi was a good base for exploring Gozo but next time we would stay In marsalforn !

Il ristorante strepitoso l'hotel tipo vecchia casa abbandonata...

Review by Davidemaggioniv Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France

We spent a dream weekend Gozo is an excellent destination to find relaxation and hospitality, the hotel is located in front of the sea with an excellent view of the surrounding bay but this is no longer enough to be a 4 star ... a smelly old hospice; the beds are destroyed…the peeling walls, the bathrooms a nightmare. There is a need for renovations !!! The breakfast is really poor, the cold cuts and the cheese looks a bit like the Caritas canteen .....

The staff, however, very friendly and polite, there are very few waiters but the service was good. We had a very good dinner the Mussels were fresh and tasty a specialty and the lamb was really very good we also ate the amazing ear of elephant cutlet just like they do in Italy. I am sorry to say we were the only 3 tables seated throughout the rest of the bay full of restaurants the restaurant is worth the money they ask for but the service is not. We were served by a very agitated, clumsy waiter, he seemed to have gone into confusion with 3 tables on the cross ... but at least he was funny ... Summing up, we would say food is good, suggestive location, breakfast and rooms do need a turning point, ah the terrace a nightmare looks like an abandonade roof top with old chair , very kind staff from the reseption to the bar and even the house keeping. Special thanks to Jenet she was very professional with us.

A hotel with potential opportunity that can be lost if not looking around

Review by Stephania G Island of Malta, Malta

We took a small long weekend break during Easter period in Gozo. Booked just a week before and managed to find a room. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful...

On Good Friday we had breakfast. The food was good but nothing to impress. Normal English breakfast that everyone can do at home. Nothing to impress that you will look forward to. Salad and vegetable just grilled tomatoes and sliced cucumbers. No fresh whole fruit. Only traditional Maltese food was pastizzi that went to take one once they where out and with first bite It was cold.. seeing the blundness in breakfast lunch and dinner would be the same so did not opt to try. Infact even the restaurant was rarely booked. Easter Sunday breakfast same . Nothing special due to occasional feast. lunch time all the surrounding restaurants packed while seeing the chef chatting with his college in the entrance of the hotel with no worries as no reservations was in place.. the kitchen is the core of the impression that people look to enjoy their stay. The location is potentially great but having a chef that he says he is a great chef but not showing it off what is the use….
