Xlendi Bay

The majestic setting of Xlendi Bay is home to the St Patrick's Hotel, a four star establishment with so many things to recommend it. Not least the views! In a country renowned for having so many beautifully situated hotels, the views from St Patrick's Hotel must be some of the very best.

Sitting out on your balcony overlooking the little beach below with the sun going down over the sea has got to be a highlight of any holiday. But, the staff at the St Patrick's Hotel put themselves out to make sure that the quality of their hotel and their service match up to it.

Excellence all around you at the St Patrick's Hotel overlooking Xlendi Bay:

Guests at the St Patrick's Hotel are very lucky people. There is so much to see, to do and to enjoy in and around Xlendi Bay and the hotel itself. Added to that, the exceptional service and comfortable facilities help make it a very special place to be.

The superb hotel restaurant is another highlight – and one you'll want to keep returning to. It even opens out directly onto the Xlendi Bay promenade and boasts more of those outstanding views.

The terraced lounge bar is another popular spot – and another exceptional vantage point out over the bay. And don't miss the rooftop sun terrace, complete with plunge pool. Taking the plunge into the refreshingly cool water up here with so much beauty all around you is going to be quite an experience.

All rooms at St Patrick's Hotel are air conditioned, and many of them afford spectacular sea or valley views – just ask for details. You'll enjoy a full range of facilities, including cable TV, minibar, direct dial phone and hairdryer. We keep saying it, but you won't get tired of seeing it – the hotel restaurant also boasts fabulous sea views making for some spectacular dining experiences. Or you can pop into nearby Victoria and sample some of their nightlife and wide range of restaurants on offer.

Spectacular views alone don't make a good hotel, but they do when combined with easy access to local facilities, and courteous, accommodating hotel staff. St Patrick's Hotel is more than a great hotel; it is a treat for the senses.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Best Located Hotel I've Visited.

Review by mrt125 Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom

A handful of critics will say this needs refurbishment. It has some paint peeling in places and may be a little old fashioned but I didn't give this a 5 rating by mistake !! We had a Sea View Room for a week in September 2021 and what a view it was. The room was spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean...

The breakfast was of a good standard and as much as you wanted. We went B&B but Full Board is an option. I'm pleased we didn't go Full Board though as the menu was limited and although the quality was good, you literally have around 10 alternative restaurants within a 2 minute walk of the hotel. There's a small pool on the roof but with easy access to the sea all around the bay and safe zones for swimmers cordoned off, this would be my recommendation. There's a large free car park at the back of the hotel if you hire a car but the regular cheap bus service which goes all over the island stops outside the hotel as well. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, indeed I find the vast majority of people on Gozo exceptionally helpful. There is also a boat and jetski hire service two minutes walk from the hotel if you are that way inclined and you can walk anywhere at any time of the night in total safety. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and resort.

Ideal stay at Xlendi bay with super friendly staff and the most amazing sunset view from your balcony

Review by pank1t Mumbai, India

The hotel is perfectly located at the Xlendi bay, with its own restaurant having a nice outdoor seating on the sea shore. Most importantly the staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay making the stay a wonderful experience. Ms...

Grace at the reception was so kind and helpful, always welcoming any queries from us. Mr. Crimi was so generous to upgrade our rooms and gave us the best room in house with a sea view! The staff were also so helpful and friendly throughout especially Barbara at the restaurant. The Chef at the restaurant obliged to our special requests and prepared very tasty dishes especially for us. Overall the staff there were like a family and made our stay a pleasurable one!

Do opt for the sea facing room which has an amazing view of the sunset directly visible from your balcony!

Sadly in need of overhaul

Review by 565martina Basildon, United Kingdom

Came here for a week with Jet2 holidays at the beginning of October, Jet2 claim the hotel as a 3* plus. Unfortunately the facilities, quality of room and dining were of such a low standard that we requested a move mid week. The area resembles a building site with the upstairs terrace sadly neglected, the 'plunge pool/jacuzzi' was broken with holes where there once was buttons broken plastic pots once held plants which were now weeds and loungers along with umbrellas in a poor condition...

Due to a storm on the first night and no fault of their own, the hotel suffered a boiler failure leading to no hot water for the next 3 days. We were offered a meal from the hotel as a gesture of goodwill which contained a shard of metal from a tin lid which wasn't ideal. Breakfast service was through a hatch in a perspex screen which resembled school dinner service and sadly the staff were poorly attired and trained. Our room on the 5th floor looked onto the courtyard area which in the brochure looked pleasant, sadly the roof leaked and mould spores were evident at the top of the walls. The room was poorly cleaned on a daily basis, tiles on the floor and wall were broken and a disposable contact lens was left in the sink plughole all week. At some stage in it's life this hotel would have been very nice in a pleasant place. The area now resembles a massive building site (as does a lot of Gozo) and it takes away any of the original charm of a beautiful bay.

Time for a refurbishment

Review by Ian B Manchester, United Kingdom

Firstly we had a great time in Xlendi and I would recommend to anyone

The positives, the hotel is probably the best looking and certainly in the best location in Xlendi The staff were professional and always available to help

Whilst the ground floor is ok and passable as it’s old and a little tired it fits with the age of the building as does the dinning room

The corridors and bedrooms are well passed there sell by date We had a valley/car park view bedroom which was poor, the bed must have been built for the seven dwarfs as I am 5ft 7 and my feet were over the end of the bed and when one of us got out of bed the other rolled into the middle The decor was tired and needed repainting

The bathroom was not good either and not very clean however I should imagine it must be a thankless task trying to clean it

The roof terrace was ok but again needs a little TLC sun beds tired and when I put the umbrella up it looked like it been attacked by a wild cat

I hope there are plans to refurbish because it’s a great building, in a great location with good staff

Good luck and thank you we enjoyed our stay and the above is meant as genuine feed back

Always Welcoming!

Review by Martin M London, United Kingdom

8th visit. 8th terrific welcome, and experience. Great room, great views...

People are so lovely. Never a cause for complaint. Something not quite right? Just speak to the staff, and it's sorted immediately. Cannot fault it.
