Bugibba is one of the most wonderful places to relax on the island of Malta. With its spectacular scenery, magnificent walks along the shores of the Mediterranean and its laidback lifestyle, it's also the perfect place for the Coral Hotel. This is a boutique hotel in every respect. With 40 rooms it is pleasantly small scale, but the level of service is huge, and the amenities refreshingly individual.
Bugibba is full of attractions, and the Coral Hotel is certainly one of them. The smart blue and white exterior and tastefully decorated rooms mark it out as something special.
So do the facilities. They include a smart outdoor pool, fitness room, together with restaurant, bar and games facilities. A masseuse is also available by appointment for an additional fee.
On top of its own facilities, guests at the Coral Hotel can sample the facilities at the neighbouring Canifor and Cardor Aparthotel – should they feel they need them.
With an emphasis on your comfort, the fully air conditioned rooms at the Coral Hotel all have a balcony and en suite bathroom. (They accommodate up to four people). Other facilities include satellite TV, a kettle, radio and hairdryer. And you can rent mini-fridges and safety deposit boxes from Reception too. Most rooms are complete with a bathtub, please note if you require a walk-in shower - these cannot be guaranteed.
With all the benefits of a beautifully appointed boutique hotel, as well as all the facilities of two adjacent hotels, Bugibba's Coral Hotel is the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy Malta.

A boutique hotel of only 40 rooms occupies an extremely convenient location in Bugibba only a few minutes walk to the resort's promenade and its many attractions including shops and restaurants.
The hotel has a reputation for its friendly atmosphere and good guest facilities, which have been rated as equivalent to those of a 4-star establishment. Guests can also use the facilities at the neighbouring Canifor and Cardor Aparthotel.
This hotel although tired & old fashioned was excellent value for money. The hotel was well positioned for various bus stops & an eight minute walk to sea. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, our room was cleaned daily & clean towels provided daily. A special shout out to Robin & Yaman who were always around to offer assistance with anything. If you want a basic, cheap stay we’d recommend. You get what you pay for after all 👍
I stayed in this hotel in January 2026 and whilst it wasn’t an awful experience, I wouldn’t stay again.
The location isn’t great as there is not a lot to do and it wasn’t the cleanest; however, there are are a few different food places roughly a 10-15 minute walk away, a great aquarium a 30 minute walk away and a Spar supermarket 10 minutes away.
The rooms aren’t too bad, you get plenty of storage, a safe, a fridge, a balcony, a double bed and two towels which were pretty clean. The bed wasn’t too bad, a little hard but definitely not too bad, though the blanket was really thin. The view wasn’t great either as my balcony looked over onto an air-con and towards people’s flats. I had a few issues with the key where it didn’t lock the door. The room was mostly clean from what I could see, the bed too but behind the towel on the hand rail in the shower, there were lots of hairs which were still there the next day after another clean so I did not use those towels. Also, the shower water only stayed warm for a few minutes then would go cold. The rooms weren’t very sound-proof either as even at night, I could clearly hear the other people talking outside.
Finally, the staff were friendly enough and we had no issues with their attitude and had nothing bad to say about them. The only thing is when it came to checking out, there was nobody at the desk for quite some time for us to hand back our keys in person. We waiting about 20 minutes but then our Bolt driver arrived to take us back to the airport so we had to leave our keys in the drop-box.
All-in-all, not an awful stay but not somewhere I’d stay again. For the price of the hotel, it wasn’t too bad as the hotel was pretty cheap, just would’ve expected it to have been a bit cleaner and have a better working shower. If you’re not too picky, the hotel isn’t too bad, just a few small issues.
Stayed for 3 nights, it's dated and basic but for the price you couldn't complain. The staff were all very friendly they brought gluten free bread when they found out. Breakfast was okay for the price.
Wee had s really nice stay. Staff great and very helpful. Even got a complimentary coffee at 3am on departure day. would definitely stay again.
The hotel was ideal just to put our heads down the breakfast is absolutely fantastic the rooms were standard but generally clean and as for the staff well me and my mate were absolutely grateful to one member of staff and that was Robin from day one of meeting him he made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to help us both it's the little things in life that truly matter and he was remarkable all the other staff were nice but I just had to make sure Robin knows how much he was appreciated We will defo visit when we come back in August Love Kelly and mandy ❤️ 💕 😍
