Quaint Boutique Hotel Rabat

On Sat 12th October, me and my friend had a booking at the Quaint Boutique Hotel in Rabat, Malta for a 1 night stay.

We had a problem with the air conditioner as once I switched it on the first time, after some time, water was dropping from it onto the floor. For that exact moment, until I called on 99456879 (as we knew that no receptionist was available after 2pm) .. we put a towel where the water was hitting and had to switch off the AC which was very frustrating due to a lot of humidity and the window open, was not enough apart of the room having a really bad smell once we entered the room -- seemed like the room has been closed for a really long time.

Once I called, advised the person on the line about the problem to send someone to check it out. She just told me to go outside in the corridor, get towels and put them on the floor and if the problem persists, I'll call her again.
As I said before, we had only 1 night there so that was the only solution for the time being. She did not even suggest to change the room as according to her, the boutique was fully booked. This was at about 16.27pm and we went out for dinner at about 7.30pm, and in between this time, we were all the time watching the AC switching on and off.

At night, the AC was dropping more water than before, the towel was soaking wet and due to this, the sound of the water hitting the floor was very annoying that we woke up a lot of time during the night ! At some point we resisted sleeping without AC, but after some time, the heat was unbearable that we had to leave the window open but it was not enough + you could hear outside's noise very clearly the whole time not just during the night. We switched it on again, we tried to sleep once again but after some time water starting dropping again !!

Yesterday morning, we woke up for breakfast very tired due to the sleepless night.

We reported all this once again to the receptionist available yesterday morning, and as soon as I mentioned the AC problem, he told us are you from ROOM 1 .. we realized that they knew about this problem before but nothing has been made to resolve this. We also reported a scratch on the furniture.

Apart from this, after breakfast we went up to the room, and decided to see whether we could check out late maybe we could rest a bit due to the sleepless night. The receptionist informed us that we can keep the room only until noon as they had to prepare the room for the next guests, and that there's was an extra charge of 5 euros.

We decided to stay as we were very tired and slept for about 35 mins, but we will never visit Quaint Boutique Hotel, not ever again as we did not have any form of compensation.

Came to relax but ended up stressed.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in and I’ve stayed in many over my years traveling .

Amazing unique rooms situated in a great location close to bars and restaurants and within walking distance of the silent city that is Mdina.

Second time staying here and when visiting this area will certainly stay again .

Oh and the breakfast is amazing 😀

not really a hotel this wonderful rooms converted from a cinema in an alley no taxi enters is superb. Sleep and enjoy the jacuzzi after a sizzling day out. The terrace for the morning, air con for siesta while one ponders the locals' language.
