The 4-star Bella Vista Hotel is ideally situated in front of The Salini National Park and is a 20-minute walk from the Qawra promenade which is lined with shops, cafes and restaurants.
Only a short distance away is the centre of Bugibba with many shops' bars, restaurants and the sandy and rocky beach.
The hotel offers a good selection of onsite facilities including a swimming pool and rooftop jacuzzi.
We arrived at 2130 and the restaurant was closed. This wasn't a problem to be honest because it was expected. After being checked in and given room key etc, went to our room. A few minutes later, a knock at the door and the receptionist was there with sandwiches, fruit and crisps. Nice surprise. The room was clean and tidy BUT hardly big enough for a family with 2 teenage daughters. TV didn't work at first but sorted within a hour of letting reception know. The Web site says " paid wifi" but its free, just ask for the password. Aircon, ceiling fan and everything else worked fine. Bugibba is only a 15 minute walk away and depending on whether you want the Square and all the bars, restaurants or the a bay, you turn left or right out of the doors . Back to the hotel. Breakfast is OK and typical of a hotel of this standard. Dinner on the other hand is relatively bland, unless you like fish or salad. The photos also show it as self serve but it's all behind screens and you.have to tell them what you want. That's fine but they give such small portions, you'll feel like Oliver Twist asking for more. Excellent bus service which has a €2 flat fare one-way but that gets you almost anywhere on the island and runs directly outside of the hotel. All of the staff we met, including management were 1st class and regardless of what others are saying, so was the cleanliness of the hotel. This would've been a 5* if the room were bigger and the food more varied.
had a great time at the bella vista would book again but go bed and breakfast as dinner not enough choice, as one teen was fussey staff were friendly hotel was very clean ,bus stops 2 mins from hotel you can go valletta for 2 euros one way which is great value 15 min walk to Buggibba away were you can find shops bars lovely clean sea to swim in also boat trips to gozo commino we tend to use hornblower cruise which we book on line before we go for around 100 euros for 4 people but well worth it it was our second time on the hornblower and still enjoy we hope to go again, maybe even the same hotel as like i say we had a great time
The hotel is very clean . Staff are friendly and very helpful . Beautiful pools downstairs inside and out . Public roof terrace with loungers and tub . Luck enough to have a roof room with sun terrace and two balconies . Kettle in room but no tea or coffee or milk . Would like this provided . Cups were rinsed out each day by cleaner ,In bathroom ? Would prefer fresh cups when room is cleaned . No parking at hotel and side streets can get busy . Good shop in the hotel with good prices . Overall good value for money just a couple of little touches needed .
Very good 4 star hotel for Malta, everything you would need and the place is spotless. Our linen and towels change 6 days in a week, room spacious and comfortable, the food was very good, well prepared and displayed, certainly better than the standard med fayre, the staff at this hotel are excellent, friendly and very efficient and are certainly a credit to the business, only downside I could see to the hotel is it’s a little out of the way but is on the main bus routes, parking a little trick at times but definitely a good value hotel, take no notice of bad reviews this is a nice place and some people will moan at anything
I should have read more reviews on a variety of review sites before booking. I agree with many comments that this is not a 4 star. I agree that it is also very clean. They have obviously modernised some areas but ignore all the comments about issues raised and the food.
It felt like a retro weekend with the entertainment and food. Fresh fruit is something that was recently picked. What you will get is tinned fruit. You will get mugs in your rooms but no tea or coffee. Surprise surprise you can buy that from the hotel shop. No spoon to stir the coffee with.
We had room 1201 - refuse it for safety reasons.
Raised the light issue with reception on Sunday night and the young man was not at all interested. Rude in attitude and said he would let the maid know. Obviously the maids are electricians.
Shop around and go elsewhere
