The Bella Vista hotel is a great value choice in a quiet location:

Qawra has plenty of attractions - its promenade is lined with shops, cafes and restaurants and is a 20-minute walk or a short taxi journey away.

Your fully air-conditioned room will be particularly well equipped. All rooms come with a balcony, as well as satellite TV, direct dial phone and hairdryer; whilst an iron*, tea/coffee making facilities*, laundry service* and a safe* are available at a supplement and/or deposit. Superior rooms with a country or a pool view are also available for a supplement. Superior rooms also include tea/coffee making facilities free of charge.

Always a warm welcome!

Review by Bethanmae13 London, United Kingdom

Another amazing week! 2nd time visiting the hotel with no disappointment. Staff are warm and welcoming. Huge thanks to all of the Catering staff who made every meal time a good time! Such a variety of foods, quick and smiley service- their hard work is appreciated...

Being allergic to gluten, this is catered for marvelously. I really feel they go above and beyond to make sure that you are happy- Providing the best experience. Bar and Reception staff also provide information on the area, and a smile. Perfect location as the bus stop is outside, and there is a Nature Park opposite. Comfortable rooms providing lots of space, and a good nights sleep. I thank you all very much and hope to see you again. Highly recommend.

Wonderful hotel or youth hostel???

Review by Linda B Angus, United Kingdom

Firstly for anyone who has booked and are now worried by the reviews so far I can absolutely assure you it is not that bad. We have done many all inclusive holidays, we've had better and we've had worse. The rooms are lovely, we had pool view, cleaned every day with fresh towels if required and our beds made...

Kettle and cups and a fridge, you need to bring your own coffee etc. Excellent shower pressure, comfy enough beds with extra pillows if needed. Food is typical budget hotel buffet. We were there for 9 nights and I only ate the same thing twice. A wee bit of care could be taken by the servers who seemed to only be interested in serving you quickly and not interacting or telling you what a dish is, if you pointed at it you got it. It is very samey but most AI is. Staff are amazing and attentive Very little entertainment, singers who had the same song list or karaoke, relatively quick bar service by fantastic barmen. Super helpful information desk with a lovely lady with lots of knowledge. The hotel is a bit away from the resort centre but easily reached with a short walk. Now my problem and only problem, the place is over run with young teenage children, it seems to be a boarding centre for an English language school and we also had exchange students on our floor. There was very little adult supervision and these children had very little respect for anyone. They knocked on each others doors and ran up and down the corridor all evening loudly. They cut in front in the dining room queues and over ran the lounge area in the evening. The hotel is huge, there surely needs to be some sort of way of meeting everyone's expectations. We will revisit malta but not this hotel purely because of the youth hostel element.

Gave it our best shot….

Review by Maxine C Highworth, United Kingdom

After reading the negative reviews we were wary yes but decided to give it our best shot and thought previous reviewers were being overly fussy. To start off with we said to ourselves: look it’s a budget all inclusive hotel, two pools, jacuzzi, games room, gym, sauna (not working) laundrette, bar and restaurant. Not bad value , we thought...

Then reality kicked in- the food was ok to start off with, edible but certainly not fine dining, then over the course of our holiday it started resembling youth hostel fodder. Slop, in other words. So we decided to eat out - which to find any decent places is a good mile away down terrible paths and through some quite questionable areas. Still… we persevered, until Saturday night came and us regular diners were shipped off to another dining area, with no windows, had to ask 3 times for drinks to go with our meal and the staff started clearing away the tables before we had even finished, all because we had to Make room for a private party. Now onto the food - because none of the main meals appealed to me I often resorted to bread and cheese but the bread was rock hard and stale. When I told the waitress the bread was stale she just shrugged and said sorry. The sausages at breakfast were like mush inside, the beans no flavour at all , and the bacon was like grilled ham. The man inside the shop was brilliant, and the 19 year old Barman was very friendly. Then 2 coachloads of French students arrived and oh god didn’t we know it. Running up and Down the corridors shouting and screaming until the early hours. Then it really did feel like a Youth Hostel. I had booked an ‘executive double room’ which consisted of twin beds which we pushed together. The mattresses boigned and pinged everytime you moved, Air conditioning which didn’t work and a ceiling fan that looked like a propellor of a spitfire and the jacuzzi downstairs had a rim of grime I cleared away with my nail, Still - didn’t want to waste our valuable holiday time complaining. It was adequate. That’s all. As a base it didn’t really suit us as the hotel was quite a trek away from anything, it would have helped if the food had been more palatable. I’ve really do not like criticising, like I said, we gave it our best shot but will not be returning.

Stay away

Review by janjames2014 Glossop, United Kingdom

Bella vista hotel malta It’s like fawlty towers at this hotel. We have had bathroom flooded 4 times. The phone in the room doesn’t work and hasn’t since we got here...

The food is awful barely warm and bland and much the same old same old. The drinks which are included in all inclusive are all local brands and taste terrible so much so that we have had to go out and buy Smirnoff vodka and tia Maria to have a decent drink in the evenings. Today we are stuck in our room cos the lift is out of order and we need lunch but because I can’t walk we can’t go out of the room. We have mobility scooters which are downstairs in the games room which we can’t get to cos the lift it broke. I have used my own phone to call reception and she said she is sending a technician. That was over an hour ago to fix the room phone so we can call reception to get some food. All in all it’s the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The service we have had has been the best thing about it can’t fault the restaurant staff or bar staff or cleaners.
