The Local Area

The Qawra Palace Hotel is well-positioned on the Qawra seafront with views of the bay, providing a comfortable and convenient setting and offers panoramic views of Salina Bay and the ancient salt pans from which it gets its name. A friendly hotel which has been popular with our guests for many years is ideal for a relaxing holiday. Situated on the attractive promenade, shops, bars and restaurants can be found in the immediate area and it is also within easy reach of Bugibba with its further selection of entertainment. The hotel provides FREE daily afternoon tea & biscuits for 1st Nov to end of Apr.

Brilliant holiday

Lovely hotel within a short walk to Bugiba where it will find many bars be restaurants. The staff are lovely, so friendly especially Jordan in the pool bar and Vector in the lounge bar. Eveywhere is just a short bus ride away. There is building work going on across the road which starts about 7am till about 6pm it's very noisy and dusty.I would recommend a visit to Valetta just a few euros on the bus...

Lots of narrow cobble streets bars shops and cafes too Day after we arrived they relaxed covid rules so we could choose whether to wear masks or not

Avoid if you want a peaceful holiday

We booked this package holiday through EasyJet and arrived at the hotel on Sunday 17th of April for 6 nights. The hotel next door is closed and undergoing major building works and they are also creating a new pool complex which was diagonally opposite the hotel. We were never made aware of this when booking with EasyJet if we did we would not have booked...

The work started every morning before 8 am for the whole time we were there, constant drilling, digging and the horrendous dust. We didn't use the hotel's pool area as the noise was unbearable and you were having dust blown over you. We were unable to use our sea view balcony which we paid extra for because there was constant noise and dust this went on all day until 5.30 in the evening. When we did go out onto the balcony after, we had to clean everything down to be able to use the chairs etc.

Although this is not the fault of the hotel we should have been made aware and we wouldn't have booked.

Second Visit - 3.5 Stars ⭐️

This is my second time returning to this holiday, both times have been for short breaks (4-5 days). We returned to this hotel as we really enjoyed our stay last time and felt we really got what we paid for. Breakfast was included in the price and you got your standard choice of buffet or continental options, always plenty of food and very hot...

Location wise is good but we did venture out more using the buses (use the app Tallinja) which were also easy and they came straight outside the hotel. St Julians has amazing restaurants which I would recommend visiting, although we enjoyed the night life in st. Julians more I don’t think it has the same holiday appeal to staying here but definitely worth the visit. 100% recommended booking a sea view room, worth the extra money and we always found it cheaper to book this option with the hotel directly.

The pool area on the first visit (august) was also much busier then now but that’s expected as we’re not currently visiting in peak summer season. My main frustration with this visit is that most of this part of Malta seems to be under construction, the hotel directly next door is being re-built. The work on this started each day before 8am which in my opinion is not acceptable. Particularly when they did not advertise this was the case. I hate to moan after enjoying this hotel so much the first time but it’s not currently the beautiful, holiday spot I once would recommend to others which is really disappointing. I hope that once this is completed, people return and it’s a better place to visit again. One other thing is the air-con, this is not good and just pushes around hot air, we reported this as an issue and asked for a fan during the night but unfortunately our request couldn’t be met.

I write this feeling slightly sad as we did really enjoy this hotel last time and it was faultless and somewhere I’d recommend to others. Now, I’m now sure I would which is really disappointing to admit.

A very lovely hotel situated right on the beach. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Hotel is very near the Malta aquarium which is well worth a visit...

The ice cream parlour across the street from the hotel is a gem for a ice cream treat at night.
