Had a lovely fortnight at this Hotel, room was adequate, comfortable beds - had a couple of issues which we spoke to reception about which were sorted almost immediately. All of the reception staff were more than helpful and always pleasant. Loved the Adults Pool area - there were a couple of days when I thought that there were slightly too many guest allowed in but it didn't spoil anything that I wanted to to. Was a bit disappointed that the inside bar wasn't open as this was advertsed as being the Sports bar and that was one of the reasons that we booked this Hotel. The Cheeky Monkey across the road shows sports but unfortunately we were told that eating in there was no longer included with the All Inclusive package. After highlighting our disappointment to the Reception staff they very kindly sorted us out with several nights in there...
Also Luzzo restaurant - brilliant food, couldn't fault it. Only used the Buffet Restaurant for breakfast, feel really sorry for the Staff with how because of the Covid restrictions they cannot run it so efficiently but they are doing a great job and were always helpful. They work incredibly hard. Was not that impressed with the entertainment being at the outside pool bar but then again I think that this would normally have been inside before Covid. Had a great holiday in a lovely hotel with great staff. Would definitely recommend and would love to visit again.
We stayed at the Seashells Resort in Malta and whilst it was a lovely hotel with everything you need, there was a couple of things that needed pointing out. IE you have to cross the road via a tunnel to get to the swimming pool and the restaurant. Jet2.com really need a rep in resort to inform customers of everything that you need to know when it is your 1st time in that country...
I was disappointed that we had to find out things about the hotel from other guests. After this other guests were asking us things that they should have been told. It was not clear that you could eat at Luzzu restaurant which was in the all-inclusive package every day. Food was far superior in luzzu than in the hotel restaurant. I understand that it was an assisted buffet style food however, the portions were so big when I just wanted to try to see if I liked them. Also, there was a staff shortage and the queues were very long. With regards to the entertainment a man and his organ were on stage at 9pm Monday to Saturday and no entertainment on Sunday. When we were lazing by the adult pool, we were shocked to see roughly up to 100 people each day from outside the hotel arrive to use the facilities, which at lunchtime caused havoc (very long queue for food and drinks) when we had paid the extra to be all inclusive where we couldn’t get a table for food and drink - this was incredibly disappointing. Surely, we should have been advised or given priority. Some of the staff we found to be helpful but a majority of the staff could not care less. In summing up we felt this hotel in Qawra was too far away from any local nightlife. The buses which on reading other reviews we found out did not run-on time. We did hire a car from KWL and that turned into a disaster. My advice if you hire a car and drive to Valletta – DON’T- as you cannot park anywhere at all. There is also a lot of building work being done in an around the hotel but we was warned of this prior to going to the hotel. Highly recommend Cheeky Monkeys for their fab cocktails.
Although the hotel itself was quite nice, there was only a pool bar open, the bar near reception was closed all the time, there was no entertainment. We used the pool bar 1 night and although we were only bed and breakfast and a lot were on all inclusive, we received the same cheap spirits as everyone else and not the genuine products like bacardi and vodka, and we were paying. The Qawra Palace next door was definitely a cut above, we drank in their open air bar with entertainment and it was a different bar next to the all inclusive bar, and we were served the real spirits for payment...
Would not recommend.
We have been coming here for 20 years (timeshare) and this year arrived at the end of September. A few familiar faces and overall all the very hardworking staff were welcoming. We were not allocated our usual room on the top floor and as the hotel is about to close for 18 months for major renovations (from 4 to a 5 star) our room was tired and poorly designed. Due to Covid restrictions, obviously the restaurant facilities were limited...
We absolutely loved the " Luzzu" restaurant for lunch and dinner. Food choice and quality extremely high. "It Tokk" was also great for breakfast and dinner. The food portions were extremely generous. We resorted to requesting half portions!
All the hardworking staff were friendly and efficient, even though they had come to the end of the season so were obviously tired BUT they continued to smile and treat everyone extremely well, Nothing was too much for them. A special mention must be made to Nicola, Suzanna and Akos from the restaurants. They just kept on being efficient and friendly. My husband & I look forward to our next stay when hopefully our actual stay in our room will have no reason for us to complain.
Lovely hotel and AMAZING staff just not a lot to do at all within the radius of the hotel. We are unsure if a lot of places have closed down due to covid or if this is how Qawra is. The hotel adult pool was lovely...
Never fighting for beds and facemasks worn everywhere. Access to the sea was easy too. The hotel could do with a good deep clean and TLC throughout although, was liveable. No evening entertainment or much life at all throughout the hotel. The two entertainment girls were very repetitive and mainly only for the kids. Locals are allowed into the hotel for pool access which is nice depending on who is being allowed in... Half of the hotel was closed therefore, do not feel we got our full money worth at all.
