ST Bayview Hotel and Apartments

TripAdvisor Review
Malta and Gozo, Europe
Sliema

Choose the Bayview Hotel and you'll enjoy the very best that Sliema has to offer. Set on the bustling promenade, it's the point where old and new Malta meet. Steeped in the history of the area, the Bayview Hotel overlooks the Sliema fortifications and the vibrant Marsamxetto harbour. It also looks out over the capital, Valletta, with its palace and palazzo (dating back to the sixteenth century).

But if it's the best of contemporary Malta that you want, you'll find it here too. The promenade is the hub. Here there are shops, cafés, bars and restaurants, and easy access to the glittering Mediterranean, and a whole host of watersports activities.

The Bayview Hotel is your window on the very best that Malta has to offer:

To really enjoy your holiday to the full, you need the right location, great facilities and real comfort too; fortunately the Bayview Hotel comes up trumps in all respects.

You may be tempted by a stunning seaview room; they're available for a small supplement. Don't worry if you don't get one – each room has its own balcony –many with wonderful views of their own –and they're the perfect place to sit back in the early morning sun, or enjoy a pre-dinner drink.

The twin rooms feature air conditioning (time restricted) as well as direct dial telephone, satellite television, tea/coffee making facilities, and optional safe deposit box. For your added convenience, the Bayview Hotel has a round-the-clock reception service too. There are a range of room updgrades available at a supplement.

And that's just the start. As well as there being plenty to do outside the hotel, there's plenty to do inside: there is a fitness room and sauna, outdoor pool and massage available at a fee.

Sliema mixes the best of historic Malta with everything you expect from a smart, contemporary Maltese resort. And the Bayview Hotel, with its host of facilities and its reputation for comfortable living is the smart, contemporary choice.

dont stay in room 403 its rubbish

stayed here for 3 nights good thing was the room was so bad I did not want to go to it at all. its dark and there is a shaft in the middle so if someone is smaking you get the smake. housekeeping is also pretty bad having done this thankless job myself...

these guys were very nice but incompetent. its not really hard clean toilet make beds and provide the tea and coffee that you have for the kettle you provided. I had to ask until I gave up. the lady was very nice and surprised that there weren't any when she was the one who made the room. I agree on the male reception guy he is misarable and we organised the cab from the airport that never came and we had to get a cab from the airport. the staff are all nice but all of them appear to want to be somewhere else. One guy bubbly as heck and put a smile on your face was the morning breakfast guy good man.

Great hotel but one person can ruin their whole image

We have been staying this Easter for seven days at the Hotel Bayviews hotel by ST hotels in Malta, which we chose specifically for the views that were offered from the room. We even asked the Hotel, sending them the specific photo that appeared on their website, if that was the view from the room because there were several hotels that offered similar views and we wanted to choose the best one, and they confirmed that the photograph of the room was the correct. The surprise was that when we arrived the room was on the first floor and therefore the only thing that could be seen were palm trees and not what was promised...

We argued with the reception person who was there at that time, for about an hour (it would be 12:00 at night). We had little desire for discussion but we did not want to give up what we had paid and what we had bothered to ask for. The main problem for which I write is not that we did not have the contracted room (luckily the next day the Hotel management changed us). I write mainly to complain about the attitude of the person at the reception, a boy called John, who treated us like homeless people. The answers of this boy were: if you are not satisfied, I will cancel the room (imagine on Easter at 12:00 at night without a Hotel); this hotel cannot give better service; if you want to have a better service you have to pay for a better Hotel; he has a thousand clients and therefore if we don't want the room he has someone to provide it to, he doesn't care about the negative reviews because for every negative he receives a hundred positive ones and a long etc. that I don't even want to play anymore. Fortunately, the next day the hotel management understood our request and gave us the room we had paid for. We recommended that they take action on this boy since it affected the image of their Hotel, but I don't know if they have done anything else. Of course in my company a person like that would not work. Great hotel but one person can ruin their whole image

Overall okay, but quite a few issues

The room looks nice, comfy bed and was clean. Location was great for getting around Malta. Included breakfast had everything you needed for a basic breakfast, hot and cold.

Experienced some issues -

  • Shower tray too small meaning water leaked onto the floor and into the bedroom
  • Housekeeping didn't come everyday
  • Towels weren't left everyday, but used ones were taken
  • Air con was gurgling and needed maintenance to look at it twice
  • Bathroom door doesn't offer enough privacy
  • Being on a main road above bars it was loud on a night

Safe, clean, convenient, nice mattresses, updated

Nice hotel rooms, comfy beds, the bathroom food with every shower due to the design, I just asked for more towels to sop up the floor. It made me feel better that others have suffered too lol. The shower pressure and hot water is amazing...

The mattress amazing. The tvs allow you to log into your Netflix so I got to continue my Bridgerton show. Little hot water pot and coffee/creamer/sugar, and mini fridge. Very updated rooms and clean. My room was 106 so just make sure you don’t get that room or just know that the bathroom floor will be wet and you’ll need extra towels, and also the kitchen exhaust is next to your patio (nice outdoor private patio) so there are food smells if you go outside. The room did not have any bad smell.

I felt safe here. The have an outdoor and indoor restaurant, I liked the shrimp ceviche and the cisk Malta lager beer, red wine. Busses right outside.

I will recommend and I will stay in Malta here again, and longer so I can do the day trips to Sicily and Gozo. There was more to do in Malta than I imagined.

Everyone speaks English and is helpful and friendly. Love Malta!

If you need a manicure and massage, I got the best of my life at a simple Chinese place inside the lobby of St Silema hotel a few minutes walk.
