We booked this holiday because it was on the green list tbh. First impressions were fantastic all COVID measures were in place and safety shields were up at reception. I had emailed before to ask for a room close to amenities as I walk with a stick but not very far...
We were given room 6106 nearly as far away from the lift as possible. No we didn’t ask for a change as I was absolutely shattered and just wanted to rest. The goods The room was great large comfy beds with the softest pillows ever they were like sleeping on a cloud. Large bathroom with walk in rain shower. Fluffy white towels and complimentary goods. The view was beautiful couldn’t of asked for better. Food in Delos and Carvv was beautiful these are special restaurants apart from the buffet . Lifts were frequent and very quick. Pools were great lovely temp lovely and clean. Nice little shop on site although a bit pricey. Room cleaning staff were excellent lovely smiley always said good morning.
The bads The walk to the lift and back every day. Rude and miserable staff not all of them. The girls cleaning the tables in the buffet restaurant were lovely and friendly but the woman that stood checking you in well she needs to smile or go get another job because she obviously is not enjoying the one she’s got now. Smart TVs in the room were WiFi enabled but the apps are blocked why?? People putting towels down on loungers someone should police this, I saw towels on loungers all day with no one using them until late in the day it’s ridiculous. Food in the buffet restaurant was only warm and sometimes undercooked. Overall it’s a lovely hotel but it could be much better if only the staff were happier but that is up to management style. Would I return No I wouldn’t only because I didn’t like Buggiba.
My husband and I have been coming to Malta for many years & have stayed at the Dolmen numerous times, we stayed on a B&B basis which I’m glad we did as there are so many nice restaurants close by. The hotel was very busy and people were putting towels out by 7am reserving beds, we only like to lay out for a couple of hours either early morning or late afternoon but struggled to find somewhere to lay. Our room was a superior sea view on the 4th floor which was kept very clean throughout our stay, the bed was very comfortable, when we walked into the room we were a little disappointed with our view as it was to the side of the hotel overlooking the road, previously we had front views, but at least it didn’t get the full sun so it was always cool...
Breakfast was good although busy in the main restaurant, we learnt that there was a 2nd breakfast room which opened an hour later 8:30am which was much quieter, they have a good set up where you go up & they serve your food for you to avoid cross contamination. Unfortunately I think this will be our last stay this is due to it being mainly all inclusive & the pool situation. Still a great location
First time visiting Malta, would not go to this hotel ever again. We were all inclusive but out of the 5 restaurants 2 were open, 1 was closed the other 2 unfortunately you had pay through the nose for, as we were not informed of this we ended up spending alot more money which is very dissapointing as all inclusive should mean includes all. One of the restaurants was buffet which in all honesty would not feed to my dog...
The other one the Delios cafe was average, but one member of staff in particular had the worst attitude I have ever come across, rude is an understatement (manageress). Due to this member of staffs rudeness we felt unable to use that restaurant for our meals which left us with 1 choice the buffet. So out of a total of 7 days we paid to eat 2 nights in batabulan and 1 night steak House which was fantastic, and 1 night out of the resort. 4 nights out of 7 in an all INCLUSIVE is unacceptable. The room was lovely cleaned daily, pools cleaned daily. Bar staff very friendly. All other facilities werr very good. It is a shame that we would not return for these reasons.
I have visited this hotel many times and have booked again in October. The staff are so welcoming especially Jonathon and Charlie from the front desk. Staff at the restaurant are fantastic and so helpful especially Mario Azzopardi who always has a smile on his face and is ready to help you in any way...
Food is delicious the rooms and hotel are super clean . I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a safe clean very friendly staff hotel . Thankyou Jonathon ,mario and Charlie for always welcoming us. We have booked 6 rooms in October. Shirley Grima
So the plus parts first. Great location for town, bars and restaurants really close by. Well kept grounds and lovely staff...
Really clean and excellent room cleaning team: Downsides. Booming music from one of the pools, as we call it “boomtis boomtis” tunes which you can’t escape by using another pool. Could do with a little quieter as the majority of the clientele when we were there weren’t youngsters. Our room 5223 was tiny and overlooked pipes and tanks, so not very picturesque, that said, we were barely in it. I dare say had we have complained we possibly would have been moved, however we were fine with it .
