Just 2 washing machines and 1 drier for the entire aparthotel and village resort!Unacceptable for families with children. That said, everything else was great. Nice facilities, pools, and food. This was our first trip to Portugal and we’re glad we stayed at Alfagar,
The apartment was lovely, spacious and had a fantastic view. There were plenty of activities during the day time and every member of staff were pleasant and lovely. Being beach side and with plenty to do in the area, the location of the hotel is great and the on site food was also lovely, although I would say it lacked variety. The largest downside is that the hotel don't hire enough staff for evening entertainment for children (which is made angrily clear by a member of staff on the Facebook page fan page)
Another downside is the 'reptile show' which is more 'pay for a photo of the reptile or we won't entertain you'
Being a keeper of several reptiles, I was unhappy with the treatment of them during 'the show' but can't say how they are treated or how they have been tamed behind closed doors to make a judgement.
Returned a week ago from a lovely holiday at Alfaghar Village, this is the fourth time we have been but the first since the pandemic and I am pleased to say it’s as good as it was. All the staff are lovely and hardworking, the bougainvillea bar where we are mostly serves delicious food and is such a lovely setting. I was also pleased to see that the prices were still so reasonable particularly compared to the UK. I love this place and will return
Returned a week ago and we had amazing time .rooms are bit dated but we can live with it.location is stunning .beautiful beach and the ocean (pretty decent temperature of water in November) Resort is really big and plenty of swimming pools.I felt they were all private to me as I was most of the time the only one inside..all resorts are kept really tidy and clean even in November. Housekeeping could attend our room more regularly as we had couple of times sign on the door to make our room but nothing happened. We didn’t use any restaurants in the resort (self catering) so can’t say any on that.mini market is very expensive,I walked few times to Aldi which isn’t far away .definitely recommended Portuguese restaurant NETO.we were keen to eat something portuguese, and food and staff were great . Overall great stay even in November and definitely recommended resort.
Been coming here for several years in October. Lovely apartments and lovely pools. Set in beautiful grounds. My only negative is the pools are freezing. Too cold for the adults and kids in our group, so for this reason, we will be going to hotels that have heated outdoor pools in October onwards.
