Exceeds expectations!

Review by AggieB92 London, United Kingdom

Despite all the negative reviews we decided to book this hotel and thank god we did! From the minute of arriving at the hotel we were welcomed by the lovely reception staff who talked us through everything and made us aware of the rules due to COVID. On arrival we were also given a pack which included gloves, a mask and a hand sanitiser.

Hotel area inside and out was spotless...

Staff cleaning the area throughout the day. We stayed at the corner room with a lovely sea view and a double balcony (D323) a spacious room, perfect for a family. Our room had a little kitchen which had a fridge and a microwave. Our room I must say was cleaned EVERY DAY, we didn’t have to put a tag on the door to ask for the room to be cleaned. Towels and bedding was changed everyday.

Food was lovely! We had booked all inclusive and a choice of food every day for lunch and dinner was different. I’m a quite picky eater, but on this occasion I must say I was spoiled for choice.

As soon as you sit down for a meal the waiting staff approach to ask if you’d like anything to drink. Disposable gloves to be worn when self serving food. Mask wearing is mandatory inside and out.

Everyone seemed to follow the one way system and also mask wearing.

From the safety point of view the hotel has done an amazing job.

We are not big drinkers, but the wine, beer, sangria and the cocktails were lovely.

Entertainment during the day and in evenings was fab! Mini disco for the little ones every evening.

There’s a shop within the hotel where you can buy souvenirs, alcohol, snacks, ice cream and all sorts of other stuff.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. We’d definitely stay at this hotel again. I can’t fault it

Ps. Hotel has an access to the beach which is beautiful.

21 year friends celebration

Review by zimbaSidmouth Sidmouth, United Kingdom

We have just returned from this hotel, and were a little concerned after reading the reviews before we went. Well let me tell you, the reviews that slate this hotel are WRONG!!!!! There are a LOT of steps, if you have the slightest mobility problems, don’t come here, simple. They do say they have a lot of steps and they’re not lying, it is stated, and advertised, so why complain when you get there? We arrived at almost midnight, and we’re unable to get a drink, a welcome drink and maybe a sandwich would have been appreciated...

The walk across the waste ground to the beach is at best dodgy, I think at some point the hotel should address how slippery it is to get down to the beach, but once down, it’s a clean Sandy stretch of gold, sun beds are €10, but we laid on the sand, there is a bar on the beach too but we didn’t use it. We walked to old town along the beach and around all the old streets, it’s beautiful. We caught a bus to the market and then back to the other side of old town which wasn’t old at all, and had lots of shops and stalls to wander around. The food is fantastic. I’m a fussy eater and there was plenty of fresh, hot, beautiful food, it was clean and beautiful. Meals are currently in two sittings to avoid queuing and crowding, and the staff are on the ball. The room we stayed in C112 was booked as a sea view, which we had a sea glimpse but mainly looked at the quiet pool, we asked to move and could have done but then upon reflection of how many more steps it would be, decided we were fine where we were. Our room was a little tired, but not the worse room I’ve ever stayed in, the air con wasn’t freezing but it worked, the only thing I would say is that there wasn’t a kettle or tea/coffee making facilities, whether this was because of covid or just wasn’t there I don’t know, but you can get coffee from lots of places so wasn’t a problem, there was a full size fridge. our room was clean and cleaned daily, towels freshened and floors swept. The pools were clean and the sun beds comfortable and plenty of, there is a small bar at the quiet pool and a snack and drinks bar at the big pool. There are bins around that get emptied daily, and we never, not once saw any flies or wasps or other beasties that might bite. We saw two cockroaches in the whole week, there are loads of little finches and a resident seagull couple, that will come steal your food given half a chance! The entertainment team work SO hard, Mandela, Henry and Paula are a constant bundle of fun and some of the games during the day had us in hysterics….you competitive people…..remember it’s a game!!! The evening entertainment, well less said etc etc but when is the evening entertainment any good ?? We have had the best time, in a beautiful hotel in grounds full of flowers, with a beach just below and a town to walk to either left or right out the hotel, I really don’t know what people expect from a three star hotel, all the staff every one of them work exceptionally hard and every single one said hello. We found a fantastic restaurant Uzonj, go there, you won’t be disappointed! We found a great English cafe, Bj’s, go there, super friendly girls and the footie was on! We walked around little lanes and streets just to see where they went, and found gorgeous house and beautiful mansions, do that, go explore! Have a lovely time and enjoy the weather and the friendliness of the Portuguese. We were supposed to be going to Rhodes, but ended up here and how thankful we were. All in all a great holiday after all this covid poo

Lovely Hotel

Review by Nabtrav

Very nice hotel with a lovely sea view setting. The standard room we had was perfect for our needs and although the aircon wasn’t the coolest we’ve had the room was comfortable. Social distancing markings on the floors and plenty of sanitising stations. The hotel has a lot of steps as the blocks are on different levels but it is also designed with accessibility in mind. Access to two beaches through a gate at the pool area although both involve uneven paths and steps down to them. We found the food to be ok although maybe a little limited in choice, especially the dessert section. Always Luke warm rather then hot but not a problem for us. All inclusive is from 11am and includes a decent selection of hot and cold snacks at the pool bar. We would return as we enjoyed the sea view setting.
