Albufeira

The aerial shot of the Auramar Beach Resort says it best. Here is a beautifully positioned hotel in a stunning location on the Algarve headland looking out to sea. So no wonder the Auramar Beach Resort is such a popular choice for holidaymakers to the Algarve. Here is a hotel that gives you those unparalleled views, and the opportunity to make the most of the wonderful beach for which the Algarve is famous, but also puts you within easy reach of Albufeira and all its amenities.

Minutes to Albufeira; seconds to the beach - come to the Auramar Beach Resort:

As if there wasn't already enough to recommend it, the Auramar Beach Resort provides all-inclusive accommodation, making the stay as comfortable as the views are spectacular.

All the twin / double rooms are air-conditioned and come with private bathrooms and balcony. Rooms are kitted out with satellite TV (4 UK channels), fridge and a room safe. Irons and hairdryers are also available on request. Sea View rooms are available, you must book a superior room or pay locally for an upgrade if there is availability.

There is a whole world of entertainment waiting for you at the Auramar Beach Resort too. With two exceptional swimming pools, children's pools and a heated indoor pool, you can enjoy a variety of swimming experiences inside, outside and in the sea. With a sauna and relaxing massage service also available in-house you can ease away any lingering tiredness if you've swum a few too many lengths. There are plenty of activities to enjoy on dry land too: ranging from billiards to tennis, and featuring a mini golf tournament every summer.

For a quintessential Algarve holiday, try the Auramar Beach Resort. Close enough to Albufeira and all its amenities, but pleasantly secluded, the hotel is the perfect holiday spot. And you'll never forget those views!

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Nice place to stay when visiting the Algarve

I booked just one day in advance and still had a really good price. The hotel is clean and the room was spacious and included a bath and balcony. Breakfast was extensive, although some food items such as eggs and sausages were not so warm...

However, the service provided by the staff was excellent; they can help e.g. with booking excursions to nearby towns. They are friendly and helpful towards their guests. Some other hotel guests were loud (especially during the night), but the staff responded to this and after that, the noise stopped. The location in Albufeira is quite ok: close to the beach and not far from a bus stop. Albufeira city centre is a bit further (about 30 mins of walking), but can also be reached by public transport or taxi. Would recommend as a place to stay when visiting the Algarve!

Winter sun

Review by Lorraine M Oswestry, United Kingdom

My husband and I stayed for a week along with my son and his partner. Cannot fault the hotel. The rooms were very clean and great for what we wanted...

Food was also good we only had breakfast and there was plenty of choice. Thelma and Victor were very good and we all enjoyed doing the archery. Reception staff were always polite ( as were all the staff) and arranged taxis for us when we needed them. One of the young men on reception recommended a Chinese restaurant to us which we all enjoyed. Would certainly go back in the future and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent beachfront resort with amazing views, great value and super nice staff!

Review by DSstayedhere Vancouver, Canada

I was a late on a red eye arrived after 1:30am and was greeted by name immediately on arrival. A little welcome snack was ready for me in case I was hungry, certainly not an expectation and the gesture alone made for a great start to an amazing stay. Upon entering my room I was very impressed by the clean and big bright space that was offered...

Slept comfortably. There is heating available since it is winter and of course aircon for summer. I stayed in Bloc B and had a lovely balcony with sea view, since it s a waterfront property you can look out almost every window and see the beautiful Atlantico. Breakfast was nice, more than enough offerings. Fresh fruit was very nice to have. The coffee did the trick but was automatic machine, for a coffee snob like me I prefer real espresso machine. Pool is massive and plenty of beds to go around sun all day. Step outside the pool perimeter and you can literally access the trail to the gorgeous algarve cliffs which are breathtaking. Secure property so you can feel safe. Also safe Covid protocols fully in place. There is even a daily shuttle to the old town, it is very convenient for those who like that. All staff professional and accommodating to any request. I will come back again next time and highly recommend. Again, I would like to thank the kind and attentive staff for making my stay even better. Muito Obrigado. Debbie

Not too bad

Review by Aakiolong Belfast, United Kingdom

Was nice place. The staff were nice and the animation team were great especially Telma and Victor they were great with the kids and so nice to talk too. Rooms were nice and clean the maids were round everyday to clean them...

The only complaints I would have that there was not enough variety of food and nothing for kids. The pool was freezing so we couldn't use it and the indoor pool was small and the condensation was dripping off the windows on top of us. The hotel was in a great location but I'm not sure if it was enough to go back again.

surprised it gets any bad reviews

Review by bigphilandfrank County Tyrone, United Kingdom

took me a couple of weeks to write this review but its a really nice hotel with great staff. I am a 46 year old Irish guy travelling away for xmas alone as I got time off work. I was meeting a couple of friends that I'd met 2 years previous at xmas but didnt see each other because of restrictions.

1...

check in

arrived at the hotel early around 9, reception was quite busy so the first guy i met was Ion, he said to take a seat and to help ourselves to refreshments, there is juice and fizzy wine in the reception area to help kill the 5 or 10 minutes you have to wait. check in isnt till 3pm but they will do their best. when reception was free Ion checked me in in a couple of minutes . its a £10 deposit on the room key and its £15 for a safe key for a week. I had somewhere safe to put my bags till my room was ready, he said to check back before that and they would tell me when my room was ready. you can use your all inc. after you have checked in, you can drink all the fizzy wine in reception if your not :) *****

  1. my room

this place is massive, there are 4 blocks in it, great design all rooms seem to have a sea view. the room was standard enough , mine had a hallway with a fridge and a microwave (2 of my friends rooms had no microwave but both had a fridge - so ask at reception if you think this will be an issue for you) I had a bathroom with toilet beday and a bath with a shower in it. the shower head is set to about 5'6 and i'm over 6''0 but i'm used to this in every hotel when abroad. i had a good sized room ( they have connecting doors in D block(not sure if this is the case in all blocks) so if going with extend family this is a great option. the balconies are enough for about 4 people but the good thing is they are excluded from both sides and up and down. all the rooms have air con and a flat screen tv. not sure what the wifi signal was like in the room as I had my own on my phone but my mates said it was great in most of the hotel. the maid came everyday - i know this because I always had a new toilet roll - i made my own bed but I do this at home - also any rubbish I had put in a bag in the hallway was removed :) *****

3.the food and drink

I was all inc. in the hotel but didn't eat here everyday, breakfast is the usual eggs sausage, bacon, fresh fruit, porridge etc etc ( a person I met on the first day said he didn't enjoy it because the scrambled egg was cold and there was no toast - i showed him where the mcirowave where and the toasters where _ day 2 he asked me if I had seen all the types of bread they had) *****

lunch.... same as dinner

pasta chips steak..... different day different meal all very good and a great variety even though the hotel wasn't at max capacity - cant complain about a thing. if you are all inc. the pool bar serves snacks - ie burger hotdogs crisps and salad from about 11 to 6 for free - not sure if you can get these if not all inc but all the staff here great so if you ask .... they can only say no.

they have a few levels in this hotel reception has a bar but if you are all inc. you still have to pay for alcohol... A great idea..it keeps people who want a quiet drink away from the hen and stag parties that come here. in the lounge bar the drink is 2 per person - dont fight them over this its the rules everywhere - but the guys working are dead on- be nice to them they will be nice to you. (i was in company where 2 guys were not ai - another guy got them a drink on his ai. - instead of making a scene pedro came to me and explained the problem- it had happened more than once for pedro to call me to the side - but in the other guys defence he just thought every one was all inc. so never thought anything off it - I offered to pay what ever was owed but owed but the hotel said dont worry about it.) amazing staff ***** Pedro *****

  1. entertainment

eye candy for the boys ... eye candy for the ladies.... Victor and Thelma are AMAZING and very easy on the eye. they have games about the pool all day and then at night in the lounge, most are for kids but I used to get pulled up most nights... I was on holiday too... if you dont get involved dont complain about how bad it is - at breakfast most morning STRANGERS ASKED ME if I was sick of dancing etc etc HOLIDAYS ARE WHAT YOU MAKE OF THEM DONT COMPAIN ABOUT NOT DANCING IF YOU DONT GET UP AND DANCE.... beware all your friends might video this ;)

  1. overall

Loved this place.. stayed over xmas but was back before the new year.. xmas dinner for all inc. was silver service... prawn cocktail -soup-salmon-turkey-dessert and all the wine you can drink . my mates stayed over newyear the newyear dinner was melon/half lobster/beef wellington/dessert...... all very impressive.

Loved the security here as well... i had friends landed a few days after me and I wasnt in the hotel. there are different breakfast times in the hotel due to covid so when my friends landed they where asked which sitting did they want... they showed a picture off me in the hotel and asked for the same one as him . Ion didnt tell them which one I had picked but told them they could change it if they wanted later on. I came back to the hotel about an hour later and asked Ion which room my friends where in - he wouldnt tell me - but he could ring the room they where in.. A HOTEL WHERE DATA PROTECTION ACTULLY MATTERS ***********

I would like to thank all the staff here, esp. Ion, Victor,Thelma and Pedro all the staff made my holiday a great one even if I didnt give out their name

Pros; clean rooms with a view of the ocean, little shop where you can buy water, beer wine or nicnaks etc indoor pool, 3 pool tables, mini golf etc close to old town and close to the strip and has its own walkway to the beach

cons; although there are ramps I dont think it it will suit people in wheel chairs - there are 3-4 levels in this hotel but it is massive. the bars and food are in one area but its a lot of up and down pushing but can be managed

hopefully be back next year
