It isn't always easy to find a hotel with the right combination of amenities, comfort and elegance – all set in the right location. But when you choose the Algarve, the possibilities open right up.
Beautifully situated, overlooking the sea at Sesmarias, the Baia Grande hotel is a wonderful example of a hotel that meets all those criteria. Set in elegant, well-tended lawns, it shows how a modern hotel can look at one with its surroundings. You'll be assured of a warm welcome and a very comfortable stay – the wide ranging amenities mean you'll want for nothing.
When you stay at the Baia Grande Hotel, you'll immediately notice just how well presented it all is. Clearly this is a hotel where great care and attention have been lavished on everything from the beautifully laid out swimming pools to the elegant guests' rooms.
All twin/double rooms are air conditioned, and feature full en suite bathrooms. You'll also have satellite TV, telephone, minibar and hairdryer. A safe and Wi-Fi are also available to hire. And, as you'd expect of a four star Algarve hotel, all guests' rooms have a balcony or terrace with a pool or ocean view.
The pool really is something very special. It's been beautifully designed – complete with a walkway to a central island, and is one of the most enticing on the Algarve. There is also an indoor pool – with sauna and Jacuzzi facilities. And you can hire the hotel masseuse to soothe away any aches and pains.
Another great benefit of staying at the Baia Grande Hotel is its location – just half a mile to Galé beach, and a couple to Albufeira. And to make it even easier for you to get there, you can catch a free bus to Albufeira or Galé from the hotel (weekdays only).
With its palm trees, and its beautiful sense of design, Baia Grande Hotel is a wonderful place to call your holiday home. It proves that finding the right kind of hotel is always worth the effort.
This elegant and comfortable hotel overlooks the sea at Sesmarias. It is less than half a mile to the nearest beach and about two miles from the centre of Albufeira which offers a wide variety of bars and restaurants. The well-tended gardens of the hotel offer a scenic backdrop of lawns and palm trees to a large outdoor pool. The Algarve's varied attractions are within easy reach of the hotel.
After being to this hotel for many years it still seems to get better with each visit. The indoor pool has now been upgraded with steam room and sauna. Unfortunately we had to cut short our holiday because of the virus but the hotel staff were wonderful how they looked after us especially when we were confined to the hotel...
The staff seemed to work extra hard to ensure cleanliness all round and we were impressed how they sanitised themselves especially in the restaurant. We are hoping to go back in September as usual. Many thanks for your care and keep safe and well.
Unpretentious hotel set in a quiet spot far enough away from Albufeira to be peaceful but close enough for a touch of shopping when needed. Rooms are roomy with balcony, comfortable beds, decent size wardrobe and safe (chargeable). We would have liked a grab rail for the in bath shower for safety (many of the guests are mature) and the wardrobe rail for clothes hangers was much too high because the top shelf was absent (room 236). The pool area is well laid out with plenty of loungers and there is a small heated indoor pool. The restaurant is modest in size with buffet food which is OK but the menu repeats weekly (as does the evening entertainment). A fortnightly cycle would be preferable for the many long stay guests. The staff are friendly and efficient and our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable.
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Baia Grande. Our room was big enough and had a lovely view (sea and pool).
The rooms have a minibar (which is handy), and a balcony with a table and 2 chairs...
The rooms have AC.
The bathroom is big enough but would be nice if the bathroom had a little bit more light. The shower was good but would be better if you could have a different type of shower that you could move.
The breakfast was very nice: plenty to choose from (the bread was very good).
The pool area is very big: you can enjoy a lovely sunny day for sure! There’s a pool bar where you can eat or have a drink.
The staff is friendly!
The wifi can be a problem... If you plan to check your email and make some google searchs, you’ll be ok :) but if you do need a better wifi connection for something else like work/videocalls or movies maybe check with the hotel staff if there’s a wifi upgrade that you can pay so you can get a better wifi.
The hotel area is countryside style but you can go to Coelha Beach walking.
It’s a relaxing, lovely hotel.
It was a nice vacation and we enjoyed Hotel Baia Grande.
A very good 4* hotel away from the centre of Albufeira. We had a recently refurbished room which was very comfortable. Bed was exceptionally good...
Indoor pool clean and water warm. Breakfast was too good, a very wide choice of fresh and freshly cooked food. Quiet location.
Waited 30 minutes for bar service tonight. Expect better at these prices.
Nice location but a lot shut at this time of year so the bar has a captive audience...
A couple of good restaurants open nearby but for most choice need to go to Albufeira.
