Albufeira

This luxurious apart hotel is conveniently situated in the centre of the popular holiday resort of Albufeira on the breathtaking coastline of the Algarve. The historic old town and the famous strip with its large variety of restaurants, bars, pubs and nightclubs are within a few steps, the beach is just a short stroll away. The international airport of Faro can be reached within 30 minutes by car.

Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.

Lovely staff, very clean but a couple of things ……

Review by Jessiebro Stourbridge, United Kingdom

Stayed for 2 weeks with family and enjoyed our holiday at Brisa Sol. Location is very good and the hotel is very clean. Staff were lovely and very helpful...

Our room was huge and we had a pool view. The pool/snack bar is good and the staff are great there, no card payments but we knew that before we arrived. The food was quite good value we thought.
Supermarket next door so you can take your own food and drinks to the pool if you want to. Bakery next door is amazing though very busy, be prepared to wait. Downside is the WiFi is chargeable and hardly ever worked, the sun bed hogging was bad on our second week as it got busier, though I think a lot of hotels have this issue. The stag groups were quite annoying, saw 3 groups during our stay, always loud and drinking by (and in) the pool, but they tend to be a bit quieter on their second day! The bar wasn’t great, felt like they could do more with it, no atmosphere at all, they had the tv on a lot with a Portuguese news channel reporting on the fires nearby- happy holidays!! Apart from our grumbles it was nice, would return to the area but probably stay elsewhere.

Lovely hotel

Review by Willowandwitch Sunderland, United Kingdom

We were a family of 7, 1 one bed apartment and 2 studios. One bed apartment was very spacious with kitchenette and fridge, but no freezer part, disappointing as I like ice with my drinks. The studios were quite small but enough for 2 with a full sized fridge and small kitchenette...

We were in rooms on lower floor, no pool view, as it would have cost 350 euros for upgrade and we didn’t think it was worth that. We had breakfast included, very nice, plenty of choices, pastries and fruit cake, juices, pancakes etc. The large pool is lovely, allowing floats for the kids, but sun beds were not available,or sun umbrellas, we witnessed 30 people in queue at 7.30am to put towels down, not allowed according to sign by pool, but hotel does not enforce this rule. The indoor pool was nice and cool away from the red hot sun. The staff were friendly enough, the rooms were cleaned daily, fresh towels etc. The location of this hotel is its best selling point. The old town is 10 mins away, downhill to go and uphill back. The prices to eat out are expensive, twice the price of UK. Divini restaurant a must, reasonable prices, lovely food, nice view onto fisherman’s beach. Nice indian restaurant opposite hotel, but they do not serve late, kitchen closed at around 10pm. McDonald’s very expensive, much more than UK, nice Chinese restaurant about 10 mins walk to right of hotel. Fab supermarket next to hotel, sells everything you will need. The lovely cafe next to hotel is always very busy, cakes looked amazing but waited ages to be served and gave up. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would return.

July 2022

Just back from a week at Brisa Sol. We had a one bedroom apartment pool view which also had a sea view which was nice. The room was great, all amenities you need...

I would take your own hair dryer though if you have long hair as it is just a travel type one in the bathroom. Separate air con in both the bedroom and kitchen/living area which was good. Rooms were cleaned every day. I couldn’t fault the cleanliness of this hotel.

We paid for breakfast some mornings which had a wide range and consisted of cold and hot options and basically eat as much as you want. It included sausages, bacon, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, pancakes, croissants, pastries/breads, ham, cheese, fruit, cereal, yogurt, juices, water and a coffee machine with several options on it followed with various herbal teas. This was €10.50pp. The pool snack bar was also lovely for some lunch such as toasties and it does pizzas etc too. The bar upstairs does happy hour for a few hours from 4pm which was good. 30% off the normal price I think. The bar is lifeless though and not much going on in it so we usually brought a few drinks and took them down to the pool or to our bedroom and sat in the balcony. There was one barman a younger man who wasn’t so friendly. He didn’t seem to want to be there. I was the only person getting served and four others came in after me and he didn’t like it. He told us we could get drink at the pool bar which we know but sure they don’t have happy hour down there?! The rest off the star were lovely and very friendly though.

Brisa sol is in a perfect location walkable distance to both old town and new town. Closer to old town though. We walked everywhere. Didn’t need to make use of taxi’s at all.

Great supermarket next door to stock up the fridge in your room. KFC and McDonalds is also across the road.

This is our third time in Albuferia but our first time staying at Brisa Sol. We usually stay at Luna Sol Aqua but thought we would try somewhere else this time. The only annoying thing was queuing for a sunbed. The queuing started at 7am. If you weren’t in the queue by 7.45am you most likely wouldn’t get a sunbed. The door doesn’t open until 8am and waiting down in the heat isn’t great. There are a few seats at the door but you will need to be early to get one. The rooms on the ground floor with direct access to the pool had their towels out before 8am - bit unfair when everyone else is queuing. Most days people left their towels on beds but weren’t using them at all for well over 4/5 hours. I’ve never experienced this on any holiday before. There are signs stating that beds can’t be reserved but there isn’t anyone monitoring the pool. This was definitely the only downside to Brisa Sol. Also the grass around the pool is wet in the mornings so it can be a wee bit mucky.

Great hotel

We stayed in a room with a pool view, family of 4 on a self catering basis, the room was very clean, cleaners came everyday, the room was very spacious, great air con. Kitchen facilities in the room were great, kettle, toaster, microwave, hob, fridge. Hairdryer in the bathroom...

Televisions had English channels.

The hotel is centrally located between the strip and old town, both within walking distance. Big supermarket next door.

Looking at previous reviews about people queuing at 7.45am for sun beds, this did happen but we never queued and always got a sun bed, sometimes we didn’t go to the pool until 11am and still managed to get a bed

We used the snack bar by the pool and the food was always lovely and reasonably priced.

We ate out very evening, so can’t comment on the food in the hotel restaurant.

McDonald’s, kfc across the road, also an Indian and Chinese restaurant across the road.

Water parks and zoomarine are worth going to, we got taxis to these, cost about €25 each way

All in all we had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel.
