We were not informed of the Renovation of this Hotel? Work was been carried out from 7am until Evening every day, drilling, putting a new sign up on the front of the building -right in front of our Bedroom, furniture being removed - the Dining Room was moved downstairs - although not sure why they bothered as the food was COLD in the morning - no notice to say what was in the containers until you lifted the lid, COLD PLATES- the bacon was like leather - and the evening meal was changed to a Menu - and if you like Octupus Soup -enjoy - although there was only 6 people in the Dining Room - the staff of about 10 people run ragged - the Bar closed before 11pm - we did find a nice Bar down the road called the CITY -sports Bar - but very quiet -had a restaurant upstairs and a small Supermarket at the side - good job really as there was nothing else there - a Taxi Ride in to the Old Tow. This Hotel was being taken over by Pierre Vacnces -and should have been CLOSED - because of the noise - very Residential around there - Beach was down a very steep Hill - Dont bother going
We arrived late on the Saturday night, so missed any chance of food and nothing was offered. We were half board and had a room just above the reception door facing the car park. Room was decent size, 2 single beds (not the most comfortable), coffee machine with 2 complementary pods and a note on where to purchase more. We had a balcony, bath/shower, fridge and safe. Tv was decent size but nothing suitable to watch except bbc news. Breakfast was the same every day, buffet, meats and cheeses, pastries and a cooked section but bacon and sausages weren’t the best. Evening meal was good, smallish portions with no extras (veg, chips etc) selection was limited, soup or salad and then fish, meat or vegetarian but were all tasty. We were half board so had to purchase drinks every night, 2 coke zeros at 6 euros.
The out door pool was not heated but was fine to cool down after a day in the sun. The indoor pool was heated and all were nice and clean.
Hotel was located close to a very nice beach, rafael and tommys grocery shop. It took us 20-30 minutes to walk down to the marina and the old town. Ubers were very easy and quick, 3rutos from old town back to hotel, 40euros to the faro airport, 18 euros out to Benagil cave. The hill back to the hotel was quite steep.
The hotel was very quiet, no entertainment at night and not much atmosphere but it was very relaxing and peaceful. All very clean and rooms cleaned daily.
The hotel staff were very friendly & helpful The room was a good size but there were 2 houses between us & the sea, they spoiled our view. There was no information about how to work the new coffee machine or find channels on the TV. I persuaded them to find us a kettle to make drinks in the room. There was NO evening entertainment. Although the breakfast had a good choice of pastries & cold food, the hot food was usually cold. We were on half board & the evening meal had very limited choice (1 meat, 1 fish & 1 veg choice) & very few vegetables. Service was slow even when there were few hotel residents at dinner. The hotel was quite remote - the hotel mini-market was open Tues - Sat with another abt 1 KM away. We were about 3 KM from Albufeira centre, with only 1 bus per hour. The nearest beach was abt 2KM away & down a fairly steep hill.. Transfer from Faro airport takes abt 80mins. This was low season & we were the only TUI guests from the UK..
The location is very inviting, although the rooms aren’t the largest the decor is pleasant and the rooms with a sea view really deliver. Cleanliness is good and the staff are very polite. Breakfast is nice and it would be good to see a snack menu available during the day. Early season and so many of the hotel’s amenities were not in use for guests which made this an environment with zero atmosphere. This must be the quietest hotel I have ever stayed at but good value for money through Booking.com .
Fantastic hotel, staff where attentive and helpful, room was spacious, clean and comfortable, views where amazing of the sea from the balcony, we stayed b & b enjoyed a choice of cold and hot breakfasts each morning, next year we definitely looking to rebook and stay half board has the evening food was excellent overall we had a fantastic experience the hotel is quiet and calming in beautiful surroundings what more could you ask for
