Due to the surrounding area and the number of steps around the hotel, it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
This undoubtedly one of the best holiday hotels we have stayed in anywhere in the world. We stayed here when it was a TUI Blue hotel. It was unavailable last year while it was upgraded by Portobay. The upgrade is excellent, all the way through, food, rooms facilities and staff. Only niggle was that they don't supply water every day in the rooms, only a 0.75L bottle on arrival. It did seem petty as, like many others we witnessed, we were buying multipacks of 1.5l bottles of water in the town and lugging them back up the hill to the hotel!
Beautiful location right on the cliffs with beach access. All the staff were very pleasant and welcoming giving the hotel a very relaxed atmosphere. The room was spotless and the bed very comfortable, although the double we had was two twin beds pushed together with separate covers, but this seems the norm and not a real problem, just not the double we're used to here in UK. The food was absolutely first class with a huge variety on offer, and the buffet option was superb with fast efficient service everywhere from reception to all the bars and pool. Biggest jacuzzi I've seen. First class, would definitely recommend this hotel. It is also conveniently situated between Albufeira and Vilamoura if you want to visit these locations, and only a short walk to Olhos d'Agua centre and beach area where there's a fantastic little walk back to the hotel using boardwalk and stairs. 5 stars.
I went here with my boyfriend for his 30th and we had a fantastic time. Special thank you to Ana and the housekeeping team for setting up a lovely surprise when we arrived, great communication with me beforehand to arrange this. We were even given Prosecco on his actual birthday which I hadn’t planned and was a lovely surprise. Food was lovely, service was great, and the hotel was clean/professional. My boyfriend said the burger at the lunch restaurant was one of the best he has had, and it was a fantastic week.
We normally stay at the Falesia sister hotel but thought we would try the new PortoBay Blue Ocean this year. We were not disappointed! The staff were all excellent - friendly and efficient, hotel and grounds spotless, our room was spacious and comfortable. Sunset bar was great for the view or watching the sunset go down. We did have lunch a few times at the Falesia (thank you to Tatianna) and dinner at the Basilica. Another great addition to the PortoBay group
From the minute we walked into this beautiful hotel we were greeted by a friendly and helpful front desk. The friendly service continued in all areas from the servers in the restaurants and bars, to the house cleaning team. Gabriella at the front desk was so helpful and we really appreciated it. Kuldeep from Flor De Sal Restaurant was great too! Highly recommend a Sea View Room, as the views are spectacular, good size and really nice. This hotel takes pride in the condition of this property. Food is all the restaurants was very good, never disappointed. The beach is a bit a walk with lots of stairs but what experience getting there and seeing this beautiful beach! We have stayed at many Hotels and Resorts and this one is at the top.
