W Algarve

This hotel is really lovely - welcome was super friendly, rooms spacious and modern, room service of a very high standard (only 1 day it was very late and when we asked at reception it was completed quickly). The best thing about it is the staff - all are hugely helpful & lovely but we would in particular like to call out Harry & Elise from the Whatever Whenever desk who helped us with local restaurant recommendations etc. and the amazing team around the pool. They remembered your name & your preferences and were always happy and chatty - clearly a superbly ran team. Apologies we didn’t get every name but Gustavo & Carol really went above & beyond and were always smiling and complementary. The only let down is the location with very little around it, we got a taxi into Albufeira 1 out of our 8 evenings and it was mental - full of Brit teenagers and very ‘Magaluf’! We enjoyed Paper Moon restaurant twice which was lovely (had v. tasty pizzas). We’d return in a heartbeat if the location and surrounding area were better. Thank you to all who made our stay special.

We stayed at the W Algarve in June 2026, we loved it and highly recommend to stay here.

Location

It takes about 30-40 minutes drive from Faro airport and it takes about a 35 minute drive to Albufeira. There is also a shopping mall nearby which is about 20 minutes drive. Dotted around the hotel most within walking distance are various restaurants which serve Italian, Indian and Portuguese cuisines I would recommend you to pre-book which you can do with the concierge if you wish.

The hotel restaurants

I would highly recommend you eat in the hotels 4 restaurants, 2 located on the 4th floor, one is a wine bar with food and the other serves Italian. Both are good. At Vino the wine bar we had the wine tasting menu and were regaled with great stories from the staff and stayed for several hours. The views across the hotel at the Italian restaurant on the 4th floor are wonderful and the food is delicious. We also ate at the Market restaurant located on the ground floor. Great food, very good staff and we also had a duet singing until late whilst eating and drinking outside. We ate at the Wet bar and restaurant located near the pool every day and was served by fantastic staff. In particular by Gustavo. He made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived and remained helpful during our whole stay and ensured we had everything we needed. A massive 'thank you' from us to him in particular.

Bedroom

Our room (3007) had a view of the sea. The room was very spacious, with a super king bed a seating area, with table chairs and sofa and a mini bar. It also had a balcony with tables chairs and a small sofa to sit on. Which was great to watch the sunset's. We had fabulous sunset's whilst we were there. There is a separate walk in wardrobe area within the room which is well kitted out with iron and ironing board and lots of hangers. There are also plenty of drawers for your clothes and you will find the safe located here.

Staff at W Algarve All of the staff at the W Algarve were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The breakfast staff each morning were so nice and helpful and again made everything feel very special.

We would highly recommend staying at the W hotel. It is a beautiful hotel and you can also walk down to a couple of beaches located at the end of the hotel grounds.

We will stay again.
